its been almost 5 years and there is never a day where i am not reminded of that day. As i drive through or past the city there is a void, an emptiness, and thousands of souls that need to be remembered,...leave the footprints untouched and build them back the way they were just adjascent...bigger and stonger to show we will not be broken.

Those "Twin Towers"...were so apt...they represented "partnership" don't you think? We LOVED THEM. They became our "friends" in lower Manhattan. When I saw the first designs of the new plan...with that singular building with the sword-like top piercing the sky, I thought of it as villanous, unfriendly, threatening...is that what we want to become? Bring us back our old friends, the Twin Towers!

It would be nothing short of a sign of weakness to not rebuild the twin towers to either there same greatness or even better. The current idea that makes this new tower higher then the orignal is ridiculous. They only reason it would be higher is because of the stupid spire. How about building them back to original height then adding a spire.

Knowing people who have lost their lives on 911,. I can begin to heal once the towers are rebuilt. I don't care about the design as long as there are 2 and they are at least the same height if not taller.

I, along with other New Yorkers', feel we should rebuild the towers exact, only one story higher, positioning them so the footprints remain untouched. How could we have anything else in our beautiful NEW YORK skyline?

It's been almost 5 years now since that horrible day. Let's show the world our strength, our resilience, our determination as Americans to preserve our way of life... and also as New Yorkers, to preserve the historic skyline of the greatest city in the world!

Let's put back the Twin Towers just as they were... only about 100x stronger!

Rebuild the twin towers but with one exception,....add 1 more floor to each tower then they originaly had, making the statement to the world that we're back bigger and better then ever.

Rebuild the Towers! Bigger and better than before. Anything less is a victory for these cowardly vermin. It is often said that everything changed on that dastardly day. That will be true only if we let it happen. I, for one, refuse to give an inch. The United States is the greatest country ever to exist and its people the finest. God Bless America!

I hope New Yorker Donald Trump will re-build us our towers and one story higher. Please do not allow the hard left PC crowd to manifest their planned contempt for all of the people who died on that day and afterwards, or for those who are even now becoming ill from that disaster. The current plans are clearly heavily weighted in favor of their anti-American propaganda.

Thank You for the opportunity to make our opinions and wishes known.

If you have already signed and would like to change categories, please re-submit your signature, using the same e-mail address. As soon as your new signature is confirmed via e-mail, the old one will be deleted. Note that you will have to retype your comment, if you left one. This method could also be used to correct typos made in a previous comment.

Please Note: This petition is meant to provide a forum for this subject alone. It is a petition, not a bulletin board. We will not sanitize controversial remarks if the comments are primarily in support of the petition’s purpose. But off-topic remarks are subject to removal on a case-by-case basis to keep the focus where it belongs. Thank you.

Important Mention: Those who read back over the comments will find that from time to time we have highlighted excerpts to help those who only have time to skim a page get a sense of what people are thinking and feeling. We rarely do that now and it was never a methodical effort, but just a window on public opinion regarding this monumentally important issue. The important thing to know is that no comment matters more than any other. Each one is valued and helps make the case that the public was sidelined on something that mattered so much.

TTA Note: Occasionally a current signature will disappear. When that happens it is because someone who has already signed the petition signs a second time and when the second signature is validated the two are automatically merged and appear in the original chronology. If someone leaves a second signature and comment, it automatically overwrites the earlier placement when the validation link is activated. If it isn’t activated, or it is made using a different email address, there will be duplicate signatures. When we recognize that someone has signed before, we will delete the earlier entry and, if it was verified, verify the new one, since the clear intention is to make the new comment visible. We may decide to manually include the earlier comment at the end of the current message.

Regarding anonymous signatures: Taking a stand using one’s full name is always preferred, but when a name is withheld, the signature and sentiments are still of value. In every case, we have an email address that corresponds with the entry and is kept private.

* Indicates that the signer has not yet activated the validation link, often due to spamblocking software. They are included out of respect for the sincerity of the comments.
