I would love to see the Twin Towers restored in America. To me, they WERE America. They defined it and stood out as a symbol. They MUST be rebuilt in place of 2 and 3 World Trade Center. It is owed to all those affected by 9/11.
I can't help but get angry every time I watch the news and reporters are drooling over the freedom tower and how our country overcame the 9/11 attacks bigger and better. How 1 skinnier tower replacing 2 majestic powerful towers is considered better is mind boggling to me. The twin towers were 2 for a reason. Now when you look at the lower manhattan skyline and see one tower it just doesn't look right or feel right. The new NYC skyline screams where's my twin?! I was 2 and now I'm 1. I'm incomplete! Replace tower 2 with a twin freedom tower. Give us back Twin towers and make NYC whole again.
I <3 skyscrapers, and the Twin Towers were and still are my all time favourite. They were just big shiny rectangles, so they should have been boring, but were so elegant, progressive and stylish instead. I agree with Trump's idea to build two slightly taller Twins with larger, sexier windows.
TTA Note: We need to point out that although the "Twin Towers II" plan is attributed to Donald Trump it was not Mr. Trump's creation. The designer, Ken Gardner, had done work for him in the past, so when he saw "Twin Towers II" being introduced on Fox and MSNBC in May of 2005, he got on the phone to Gardner and offered to showcase it in Trump Tower -- where he held a press conference and thousands of people filed through over the following weeks to see it.
I was three when the towers where destroyed. I don't remember much of them, but I know they where among one of the five most recognisable American landmarks. When my dad came here frome Sweden he wanted to drive a pick up truck, and work at the Twin Towers. It seems like America has fallen apart since their destruction with the NSA, torture, and the war in Afghanistan. Rebuilding them will not fix America, but it will start the process.
I was 7 when that happened on September, 11. It was a real tragedy, horror. But we all know New York, the best city to go to, like it was, with this special architecture of WTC, Empire State, Chrysler and so on. Those new buildings with the new look just can't fit in New York, and they are ugly to be honest. New York is not New York without his buildings, rebuild the old WTC.
God Bless America! We can do amazing things when we work together. Nobody can break our spirit.
It's simple, we have never backed down from any challenge, may it be at war or peace. We have fought a race to space, we fight for equal rights, we fight for the freedoms of other nations. So should we fight to take back that what was taken? Simply, yes.

What's happening on the site is deplorable. The lies multiply every day. The latest claim is that Zero WTC is taller than the twin towers. Not if you remove Police Commissioner Kelly's 200 foot tall Pedestal of Fear. And not if you don't count the HVAC facilities mounted, not in the basement underground, but high up in the building. Not if you don't count the broadcast spire.

At the very least, a twin freedom tower should go up. Until there is a twin towers in the NYC skyline America will not have truly healed. Build the twin towers and dedicate them to all that lost their lives that horrible day.
i always thought that the twin towers were beautiful ever since they reached for the stars in the 70's. i remember going to the sears tower as a teenager and thinking "wow, this is amazing. one day i need to go to the twin towers". that day will never come for me. i remember one day i saw the concord at jfk and thought "so beautiful! one day i will see the curvature of the earth in that". sadly i will never be able to buy a ticket to make that dream come true either. i wish they would have rebuilt the twin towers. i wish the concord was never retired. dreams are all that i have. and at least the iconic twin towers were part of them & at this website i happy to see i am not alone. i see no shame for them to grace our skies. cincinnati j
We need to rebuild the twin towers!
I’ve seen the WTC when I was very young, on a trip to NY City back in the 90’s. I remember the Twin Towers very well. The “Top of the World†was by far, the most amazing observation deck in the world, and the Manhattan skyline with the Twins…well…that was just THE greatest and THE most powerful symbol of America. I still can’t understand why the US didn’t rebuild the Towers just like they were, only stronger. It’s not about a skyscraper. It’s about a symbol. And when a symbol of your country is destroyed like that, there’s only one way to go: bring those responsible to justice, remember the victims on a timeless memorial, and REBUILD your symbol back. Replace the Twins for any other building it’s just not right.
I was startled when 9/11 happened. No one knew it was coming. I never got to see the towers for real. I'm signing the petition not to look at the past, but to build our new future.
Honestly, i think that its a complete disgrace to america. we should have rebuilt the Twin Towers to show those terrorists that we are a strong nation, and that we cannot be taken down. The government didnt help us in our time of need, and those terrorists destroyed our country's greatest iconic symbol and took our loved ones away. Never forget 9/11 and long live the Twin Towers!
While One World Trade Centre's design is beautiful, to me it will never ever replace the iconic twin block designs of the original tower. One of the biggest regrets in my life is not visiting the observatory of the original twin towers the last time I visited NY way back in 1999 while I was still a kid. For people of my age and the generations before me, I believe there will always be something missing in our heart when we see the skyline of NY today, and compare it to that of yesteryears. Come on, America, you can do better than that. Capturing and killing the man that was responsible for September 11 is one thing, but restoring one of your most symbolic icons is another, and you are nowhere near there yet!
I was only five years old when 9/11 happened. I just remember waiting for my parents to take me to school, but their jaws were wide open on the horrific news coming from the television. Obviously I didn't know a thing that was going on at the time, but the fact that I still remember that moment astonishes me and makes me realize that I remembered it for some purpose. Obviously this day must be remembered for all. The Towers should and will be rebuilt. Their not only a significant symbol but an engraving footprint to humanity for strength, beauty, and peace. Not just for the nation of America, but for other nations around the world. Rebuilding these Towers will reunite us and bring us closer. Please rebuild the Twin Towers.
The World Trade Center Towers were the symbol of our great Nation. We need to rebuild because we need to show those Terrorists that America will never stay Down.
I think it's easy to say it's too late for this to happen or the current plan is done, but we must understand that the current plan being built was not brought upon us in the right way. This subject on rebuilding the Twin Towers has been a primary focus for me since 7th grade I am now heading into Sophomore year, I have never stopped believing that the 1,368 ft beauties will rise again because they had much higher expectations for the future rather than the 28 years they stood. I have come to appreciate all the things said by others on this site because we all believe one thing and that is that these iconic buildings need to rise again. Thank you and god bless.
From early childhood, I had viewed the Twin Towers as the most magnificent architectural wonders I had ever seen. I was so enchanted by them. This enchantment only grew over the years, I had to be able to see them one day, to see them with my own eyes. I never got the chance, they were destroyed before I could. I can feel so much empathy with the loss of life and the deep helpless emotion that we have all been robbed of something that runs so much deeper than their physical, awe-inspiring presence, it's our spirit and what they represented to the people of New York and the world. The Twin Towers should rise again in sure defiance and triumph over evil, free to grace that skyline once again, prouder and more powerful than ever before!
It's time to say opinion... I'm 18 years old... September 11... that day i was 6 years old... in the 1st class... When I came to the living room and saw in TV news what has happend in New York City... of course in this age people don't understand what is terrorist attack and what is happening... But now... almost 12 years later... I know what is the symbol of freedom and city, that is city of dreams for me... Twin towers... Only Twin towers are the icon of New York City... And what I know is that families, firefighters which have lost family members are supporting this thing... and they are absolutely right... because what is more recovering from attacks on September 11 than rebuild the World Trade Center that stood on Manhattan since 70s?
Please Re Build.... We need this to heal.
As a child, growing up to see the WTC being made. Whether it be books, tv etc I always thought they would stand tall and strong and be a symbol for the great land of opportunity. I miss them, despite never seeing them I know the strength and power they achieved and all I want is to have them back, taller and stronger but look the exact way they did. Please just make them again. It's a tragedy but it makes humans seem weak in front of the monsters who destroyed them. If we all pitched in whether it be signing a petition to the workers rebuilding them we know we will all feel special that we done our bit to overcome the tragedy and to create a new Skyline a bigger and better America and a bigger better New York. Thank you.
I had just turned 5 in August, and then in September the tragedy happened, I was young, but at that age I still vividly remember the news and the towers, If the towers were recognized by a 5 year old from a different country, why choose not to rebuild these great buildings!? The world needs an icon, America needs a signature, two that tower over all of Manhattan. May the spirit of these towers exist in the hearts and the souls of everyone.
Euan left a second signature, which we had to delete, so we are appending his second comment here:
I have hope that the towers will be made again. I'm sure everyone will agree with me on that. They made New York what it was, without them New York will not be the same. I will continue to have a huge scar that may never heal. If only America had a chance to repay debts to those whose lives were taken that day, it is what they would have wanted, what the families want, what America wants and what the world wants. New York is an iconic place, so why not rebuild that which was taken from us, why not fight for your freedom, why not stand up and rebuild the towers? Everyone wants them back, we must fight for them! Never give up hope America! May the towers always remain in the hearts of many.
I was 1 when the world lost two friends, 110 floors of beauty and wonder capped by windows on the world. The place that was, a critic wrote, so high all worries were invisible. Due to evil he was proved wrong. Every design feature of freedom one is influenced by terrorists. The twin towers are free, fabulous, and fantastic, so incredible that they completed planet earth and turned it into a safe space. Evil stopped wonder, rebuild the World Trade Center.
I would love for these buildings to rise again because i was visiting my uncle in New York during 9/11 and he died when he was called in to help with evacuation he died in the collapse of the Norh Tower and i would greatly appreciate to have them standing again!
please build the twin towers. new york is not the same with out them. build them bigger and taller. let's show the world in america we don't give up, the freedom tower is not the same. by building the twin towers back again the whole world would want to be part of it and come to see it, invest in it. new york would have the best tourist and financial city in the world.the economy impact would be good for new yorkers. and who ever invest their money in the project. after all we all love america and want the best for it.
Please let's make this dream come true and bring them back as Mr Trump said. Each time I watch a NY picture, I can see them on my mind. We can win this fight. Both are terribly missed.
simply put, 1 for 2 does not = bigger and better
My Biggest wish is to rebuild WTC.
We are America. We don't back down! Let alone admit defeat. If the towers are left unbuilt it would remain a symbol for all the world of our vulnerability and the the sacrifices of many will have been in vain. Build them taller and make them the most beautiful structures ever created by man. It will be a place of not only remembrance, but a place where we stood together as a nation and overcame the most horrible assault on our nation.
Put God 1st in all matters and all things!!!
Build the towers according to the desire of the American People, more specifically the Great Citizens of NEW YORK.
The Twin Towers should be rebuilt as the People of New York want it to be built!
I visited New York in 1995 with my dad and sister. The World Trade Centre was the first place we visited. We went up the South Tower, all the way to the roof. I still remember looking over and seeing the ariel on the North Tower. It made a buzzing noise on our video camera.
Those buildings were so iconic of NY and the skyline simply isn't the same without them. My jaw dropped when I saw the pic of the Towers looking golden in the sunlight- I keep saying to my sister that the Twin Towers should be rebuilt, and coloured gold! I wish they would rebuild the Twin Towers and am all for your efforts to get it done!
I want the twin towers 2 to be built. I want them built because they symbolize our country, our nation of our freedom. We deserve the right to choose on what the tower design should be and not the design of the freedom tower. I went to New York City 2 weeks ago and saw what they were doing. I was disappointed. I wish that they would rebuild the twin towers the right way instead of the wrong way like they did with the freedom tower. We can still do this if we all join together and say we want our symbol back of our country. WE want the twin towers back and make them stronger then ever before.
I believe the twin towers should be rebuilt. That would be the most respectful memorial to those who lost their lives on that world changing day.
We will never forget.
My fascination with the twin towers is unique like many other people's stories. I don't really know where to start. I didn't even know what those towers were called on 9/11, I just remember seeing them from somewhere and I thought they were really awesome. I was 7 when they were destroyed and I've missed them ever since. I think it's fair to say that people like them more now than ever before. It's that sense that you don't know what you've got until it's gone.
I live in Portugal, but I'm English, but I remember seeing those twin towers appear on TV quite regularly in movies, music videos etc. At the time (pre-9/11) I didn't really take much notice of them, I was only a very young boy (5 and 6 years old). The biggest moment though was the Limp Bizkit video does was shot on top of the WTC at night and for me, it's just the most beautiful sight in the world. I always had a fascination with skyscrapers and they were the best ones ever built.
I love USA and I think since 9/11 your country has taken a turn for the worse and you, the people need to stand up and make it mighty again. I'm not gonna go into politics here. USA like most countries in the world has a shit, corrupt government, but your people are awesome and your endeavours, free thinking, and never give up attitude has inspired me and others all over the world.
Hi my name is Colton and ever since 9/11 happened, I've always wanted the Twin Towers back. I have no idea why New York decided to build the Freedom Tower, but I feel that America would be losing to the terrorists if we don't build the Twin Towers again. I also feel that is disrespectful to the people that lost their lives on that tragic day.
