I never had a chance to visit the towers despite living in new york I might have been very young at the time but the attack on 9/11 left me scared and empty and I strongly believe that rebuilding them as they were would bring an overwhelming relief and healing to everyone left shattered after that day.
Born and raised in Orange, N.J. I’ve been to New York City countless times. And the only landmark in New York that brought attention towards my eyes is the good old Twin Towers! Like some or many people who haven’t visited these great structures, I am one of them! I’ve only seen them at a far distance and have been up close to them, but never got to be in them to admire their great beauty of interior design! It saddens and dissappoints me that The Port Authority, The Governor and Mayor of New York ignored and never took into consideration that many of us wanted the Twin Towers rebuilt! If this Petition works in getting what we all wanted, that should’ve been done the last 10 years! Then I would be very happy and very pleased man!
I am 17 now, or turned 17 last year, 2011. The 9-11 terror attacks happened when I was seven years old, but before that I was blessed to be able to see the old NYC skyline, and I think it would more than amazing if it were rebuilt. Before 9-11 my father, (one time as my family visited the city; I live about 45 mins away) pointed to the brothers and told me “You see those two buildings there? They are the strongest in the world. They bombed them before you were born, but they did not fall.” Maybe if the towers are rebuilt, I can tell perhaps in the future tell my son that even though they fell, it did not stop them from coming back. Please rebuild our New York, our Skyline, Our World Trade Center.

As much as I loved the original Twin Towers and despise the current “rebuilding” plan, there’s not much we can do at this point. Towers 1 & 4 are on their way to completion with 2 & 3 slowly following. Even if we were somehow able to stop the current plan, which is highly unlikely, there would be no place to build new twins because the layout doesn’t fit it considering the memorial is finished. We would then have to demolish the site and start from scratch, taking another 10+ years to build. The Twin Towers were icons and symbols of New York City and I know I will miss them terribly. It’s always great to be optimistic but sometimes we have to be realistic and accept the fact that we can’t always change everything. It’s sad, but true.

It would be really nice to rebuild the towers, if only to show America’s resilience. I think that the new World Trade Center 1 (“Freedom Tower”) is a beautiful building in its own right and we should be proud of the work that construction crews are doing on it now. It is certainly a proud achievement. But rebuilding the towers would send a message to the world that America is resilient and will not back down when others try to push it down. They say you “can’t go home again” and no one should feel we are bringing back the Towers. We can no more do that than to bring back the nearly three thousand innocent souls who perished that tragic day. But what we can, and I believe must, do is to show to the world that we are intrepid people.

Since then i have always seen pictures and videos of what it used to be like in NYC. There was this undeniable vibe to NYC that i could not get over. I don’t remember seeing the World Trade Center. I was too young and wouldn’t understand it. My father was in the building working there multiple times. He was just over a mile from the trade center when they collapsed. He even took photos of it. I think that they should do this because it was what represented new york during the late 20th century. People around the world dream of seeing them. It would take us back to before all this had happened making you smile everytime you go into the city. Welcome to the top of the world. Quite simply, though the freedom tower is a beautiful building, it does not touch the magnitude of the Twin Towers. How we as a nation can attempt to replace the Twin Towers with a building that cowers in their shadow is a plain travesty.
I grew up in upstate New York and visited those glorious towers while in high school. I remember we went back a second time on our trip because we wanted to go up to the outside viewing deck and the weather had prevented it the day before. So we saw not only the inside observation floor but the outside viewing deck also…a vivid and fond memory from my childhood. I have always wanted to go back and visit those twins and take those tours again as an adult but sadly will never get that chance now. I agree that we should build those towers back again. The Freedom Tower is a nice tribute to America’s freedom, but it just doesn’t hold a candle to those beautiful and majestic twin towers. I believe we should rebuild them again!
I love skyscrapers and I especially loved the Twin Towers, although I never fully remember them I was only about 5 or 6 when they fell. I would love to see them today as the “Golden Towers” By starting over we just show the people who did this to us that we forget easy. It’s clear that people want to see the twin towers built again. In fact, it was clear 11 years ago. Just because the Governor has power over the city doesn’t mean he can take it upon himself to choose which towers to build due to his own preferences. I think the Twin Towers II should have been built instead of one lonely, not so attractive tower. I have never been to the original Twin Towers but saw it from afar from the Statue of Liberty back in 1992 and it just looked beautiful. I couldn’t believe it. I was a kid at the time and didn’t know my way around NYC. Anyway, it’d be great to see the Twin Towers again.
As a New Yorker myself I think it is a disgrace to America for the towers not to be rebuilt. What is there now shows the monsters who took them down that they won. I was startled when 9/11 happened. No one knew it was coming. I never got to see the towers for real. I’m signing the petition not to look at the past, but to build our new future.

A twin freedom tower should be built. The skyline isn’t the same. Although they are building Two World Trade Center at the moment, it will not look as nice as having Freedom Twin Towers. One World Trade Center just stands all alone and by Itself. It would look much better with a twin. It should have what the South Tower had, no antenna and an outdoor observation deck while One World Trade Center has the antenna. Do the right thing!

I was lucky enough to visit the towers about a week before they came down as a child, but I never really got to get the full experience out of that one visit. The original towers were beautiful and the plans for the new WTC are, in my opinion, atrocious. Please give us back our towers. Please give the people their towers. Please give the people freedom. Please.
It’s clear that people want to see the twin towers built again. In fact, it was clear 11 years ago. Just because the Governor has power over the city doesn’t mean he can take it upon himself to choose which towers to build due to his own preferences. The vote goes to the people of NYC along with the rest of America. This city is filled with useless and weak minded people that work for the government and it needs to change. The thought of the Freedom Tower AND Twin Towers seem like a great idea. Fix the foundation of where the towers stood and put them back, we need to show all remaining terrorists that when we fall WE GET BACK UP!!! But the government is not helping us prove that AT ALL. Our country’s security is alot more superior than it was.
It would be great to see the towers up again. It was a sad day for America to watch our towers fall and watch all those people die. It was a mean thing that those terrorists did to our country. I will remember and never forget what happened. Rebuilding the Twin Towers would be a sign of victory.
I think the Twin Towers II should have been built instead of one lonely, not so attractive tower. I have never been to the original Twin Towers but saw it from afar from the Statue of Liberty back in 1992 and it just looked beautiful. I couldn’t believe it. I was a kid at the time and didn’t know my way around NYC. Anyway, it’d be great to see the Twin Towers again.
As a New Yorker myself I think it is a disgrace to America for the towers not to be rebuilt. What is there now shows the monsters who took them down that they won. I think there should at least be a second freedom tower even though that would not be what should be there and the whole site should be called “Freedom Trade Center” or something like that.
Honestly, i think that its a complete disgrace to america. we should have rebuilt the Twin Towers to show those terrorists that we are a strong nation, and that we cannot be taken down. The government didnt help us in our time of need, and those terrorists destroyed our country’s greatest iconic symbol and took our loved ones away. Never forget 9/11 and long live the Twin Towers!
I was startled when 9/11 happened. No one knew it was coming. I never got to see the towers for real. I’m signing the petition not to look at the past, but to build our new future.
At the very least, a twin freedom tower should go up. Until there is a twin towers in the NYC skyline America will not have truly healed. Build the twin towers and dedicate them to all that lost their lives that horrible day.
I can’t help but get angry every time I watch the news and reporters are drooling over the freedom tower and how our country overcame the 9/11 attacks bigger and better. How 1 skinnier tower replacing 2 majestic powerful towers is considered better is mind boggling to me. The twin towers were 2 for a reason. Now when you look at the lower manhattan skyline and see one tower it just doesn’t look right or feel right. The new NYC skyline screams where’s my twin?! I was 2 and now I’m 1. I’m incomplete! Replace tower 2 with a twin freedom tower. Give us back Twin towers and make NYC whole again.
I am a New Yorker and I think the new Freedom Tower is very ugly. It is nothing at all like the original Twin Towers. Why weren’t the original Twin Towers rebuilt? This Freedom Tower is so ugly and will not even have an outdoor observation deck. And if they had to build it, why not build 2 Freedom Towers the same size? The new buildings are so ugly, it is just awful. Shame on the city for selecting these buildings.

The World has waited Far Too Long for The Twin Towers to be rebuilt! It’s still not to late to correct our Mistakes! In order to do so we must Rebuild The Twin Towers!

The TWINS need to be rebuilt. I am a builder. To NOT re-build “the twins” is offensive and rewards the terrorists. REBUILDING them defeats the terrorists and shows them who’s boss !!!
Ever since that unfaithful day everyone who died and who ever is crying out for help. But now the Twin Towers II can be rebuild if we stay strong and get more people to sign the petition and stop the ignorance of the New York State head. People we will and all of America !!! will stop the emotional pain of people that are still hurting from 9/11/01 by rebuilding the Twin Towers II and finally the New York City Skyline will look like the original way it was.
It’s not right that the Twin Towers were not rebuilt. I pray everyday that we build these building again. I feel we let these terrorist bad guys dictate how we live life and feel we let them defeat us. The Twin Towers were such a beautiful site and so inspiring. I was so fixated on those building since my childhood. America and the World have not been the same since they came down. If NY does not want to rebuild them then let NJ/Jersey City rebuild them. I will keep praying for them to be rebuilt. I’m sure everyone who tragically lost their life on 9/11 would want these beautiful buildings rebuilt. Can we get a real American to stand up for what’s right? Bill Gates or Donald Trump you have all that money, do something great and rebuild.
A twin freedom tower should be built. The skyline isn’t the same. Although they are building Two World Trade Center at the moment, it will not look as nice as having Freedom Twin Towers. One World Trade Center just stands all alone and by Itself. It would look much better with a twin. It should have what the South Tower had, no antenna and an outdoor observation deck while One World Trade Center has the antenna. Do the right thing!
I hope this is on-topic. I wish the Freedom Tower had NEVER been built and that the Twin Towers were rebuilt EXACTLY as they were before September 11, 2001.
I had seen them in the 1980s when I used to occasionally visit NYC with my family when I was young. But, I never appreciated them back then and I regret that. That’s why I wish the original Twin Towers were rebuilt just the way they were. Nothing can ever replace the Twin Towers. They gave NYC an awesome skyline before 9/11/2001.
