The world was robbed of the 21st-century Twin Towers most of us always wanted.

TAKE IT BACK!!! REBUILD!!!

Stuart ClarkCitizens of Other Nations

Yes rebuild them. Build them taller and prouder than ever before. The technology exists to build towers over 1km high.
Do it, America because you can. Be the first to build habitable apartments or office space higher than 1000m! Stand up and be proud; you have a lot to be proud of!! Don't cringe before the Islamofascist Cowards and the Post Modernist idiots who love to hate you, freedom and Western Civilisation.
I might sound like a "patriot" but I am not even American. I am Australian.

i think they should rebuild the towers the way it originally stood. they should also build a deck on the roof with marines gaurding all sides with heavy artillery. Satelite systems are a must with constant survailance operated by professionals. (and this is for just one of the towers...)

This is the only way to show these people that did this that they cannot disrupt our lives or diminish our resolve. I honestly believe that the NY skyline looks empty and this is the ONLY way to make it whole again. I say no to the freedom tower!

there would nothing more infuriating to the killers than to put the towers back up. I really do believe thats what it's going to take to help heal new york, and america.

The Towers site does NOT belong to New York or any individual. Congress should take the land via Eminent Domain, and immediately stop all the political nonsense. If the President can make war, he can nationalize that site. Americans want a Belton-Gardner or similar rebuild. Even if the towers were re-built as empty shells, our need for healing would be met. It isn't the office space that we care about. (I grew up in NJ, 5 miles from ground zero.) Dave Anthony

This is a great idea. I miss the Twin Towers. I've always wanted to go inside, all the way up to the top. May this effort succeed, and may the truth about 9/11 be revealed soon.

My first time visiting New York City was in the summer of 2005. I never had the chance to experience the twin towers in person. I would love to be able to do that someday.

The footprints of the fallen towers should be the memorial area, perhaps reflecting pools with a permanent beam of light aimed skyward at night. The opposite squares should used to build new and better towers, same footprint but opposite, and at least the same height as the originals.

As a native New Yorker, rebuilding the Towers would serve as an act of defiance and strength against the terrorists who took them down on that day. In building the Freedom Tower, those of us who knew and saw the Twin Towers everyday will still feel the gaping hole that lingers in our minds and hearts of the buildings that made New York the greatest city in the world.

I live in the UK so I didn`t have that much knowledge of
the WTS before 9/11 i would have loved to have had the
chance to visit them in all there glory.
I think that rebuilding the Twin Towers is the best way to
show the terroists that they can`t break the American
spirit and changing the New York skyline is only a victory
for the terrorists.
Rebuilding the Twin Towers is the best memorial for all
that died or suffered loss of loved ones on that terrible
day.

This is the right thing to do. We all know it. The rebuilt Twin Towers will represent so much more than defiance. They will represent unity, strength and resolve. Please, add your name and do the right thing.

To not rebuild anew in the likeness of the old, is not a sign of patriotism, but rather of cowardice and apprehension. A proper memorial must pay tribute to the sheer grandeur that once was once a symbol of lower Manhattan, and that requires a construction worthy of positive comparison. For all the people who gave their lives on September 11, how can we possibly equate the Freedom Tower with hope and prosperity for the nation's future?

Restore the glory of the Twin Towers and show those who would impose their will upon us that WE, the people, will NEVER crumble. Even when our grand structures are toppled, WE stand tall and defiant.

God Bless America. May the Gospel of Christ spread to every heart and mind.

America is considered the best in the world so it only makes sense to replace the towers, with better safety features and show the world that america can move on, but take with it the twin towers and the memory of all those who lost their lives.the towers were an inspiration to us all and we didnt know what we lost till they were gone

I have been to both NYC and Southeastern Afghanistan and have seen for myself the vision of the world that the terrorists would have replace NYC. It is not coincidential that one culture cannot build anything beyond a one- story mud hut, while another builds skyscrapers. The difference is hard work and motivation. The twin towers were, and should be again, monuments to that which is most precious in America: the pursuit of our own well-being, prosperity, and happiness.

I agree with the many people who feel that the only way to show the world WE WILL NOT BACK DOWN and WE WILL NOT BE BROKEN, is to REBUILD the TOWERS. Any other extra buidlings are fine, but the TOWERS must be REBUILT!

Please Note: This petition is meant to provide a forum for this subject alone. It is a petition, not a bulletin board. We will not sanitize controversial remarks if the comments are primarily in support of the petition’s purpose. But off-topic remarks are subject to removal on a case-by-case basis to keep the focus where it belongs. Thank you.

Important Mention: Those who read back over the comments will find that from time to time we have highlighted excerpts to help those who only have time to skim a page get a sense of what people are thinking and feeling. We rarely do that now and it was never a methodical effort, but just a window on public opinion regarding this monumentally important issue. The important thing to know is that no comment matters more than any other. Each one is valued and helps make the case that the public was sidelined on something that mattered so much.

TTA Note: Occasionally a current signature will disappear. When that happens it is because someone who has already signed the petition signs a second time and when the second signature is validated the two are automatically merged and appear in the original chronology. If someone leaves a second signature and comment, it automatically overwrites the earlier placement when the validation link is activated. If it isn’t activated, or it is made using a different email address, there will be duplicate signatures. When we recognize that someone has signed before, we will delete the earlier entry and, if it was verified, verify the new one, since the clear intention is to make the new comment visible. We may decide to manually include the earlier comment at the end of the current message.

Regarding anonymous signatures: Taking a stand using one’s full name is always preferred, but when a name is withheld, the signature and sentiments are still of value. In every case, we have an email address that corresponds with the entry and is kept private.

* Indicates that the signer has not yet activated the validation link, often due to spamblocking software. They are included out of respect for the sincerity of the comments.
