The world was robbed of the 21st-century Twin Towers most of us always wanted.

I think that rebuilding the twins is the right thing to do. The NY skyline will not be the same with that ugly "Freedom tower". Especially all of us who grew up with the familiar image of NY with her twin towers will look at it with disgust if it gets build. Bring the towers back.

I would absolutely love to see the twin towers rebuilt. Ever since i was a little kid i've been fascinated by skyscrapers, and the twin towers were my favorite. When the tragedy of 9/11 occured, not only was i saddened by all of the people who lost their lives, and families who lost loved ones. I was extremely saddened to see my favorite skyscrapers collapse. I loved those buildings and really hope new and improved twin towers will be rebuilt. Let's restore the NYC skyline to its original glory.

Absolutely, rebuild them the way they were, or even taller, or even 4 towers. I agree-- we should honor those killed on 9-11, not some narcissistic architect(s) trying to make a statement with idiotic designs.

I love the plans of MakeNYNYagain.com & Triroc.com/wtc.
They are clearly the very best I've seen so far. As for the LMDC plans, they SUCK so bad you'd think they'd came straight out of the mind of Osama Bin Laden or one of their appeasers. Then again...maybe they have...Good luck and God Bless you N.Y.C.

I heard Donald Trump say recently that the towers should be rebuilt one floor higher .. and I 100% agree with that idea-- that it would be a statement that you can cause a blow to our spirit, but we'll get back up even stronger than before.

Although I am not from New York as a young child I visited the World Trade Center and the Twin Towers,it was the most awe inspiring sight i have ever saw. I wish the city of New York would rebuild the Twin Towers as they were, just taller and stronger. For me that would be the greatest FU to the sub-humans that brought them down. Thank you,for the chance to voice my thought and idea.

The NEW Towers would fit into the adjacent spaces next to where the old Towers once stood. That way we could utilize the same space and include the memorials on the space the old Towers stood. Build the new Towers and show the world that America will not be terrorized, America will rebuild the Towers and lower Manhattan will once again be home to the great symbols of American ingenuity and now America's Resolve.

I know that I am not alone when I say that I miss those glorious towers. I am sad everytime I drive down the NJ Turnpike or into NYC. Manhattan Island is just not the same without those towers.

Rebuild them the same as before.

Anything less than a total rebuild o fthe towers is admitting defeat. The new towers should be bigger, better, taller, and represent the resilience of the american people and their beliefs.

I want to live in an America that says, "We are going to build the tallest tower in the world. Hell, let's build two!" This was the America of 40 years ago. Have we lost this kind of spirit? I think not.

this alliance has got to be the absoulute BEST idea ever. I would like it more than anything to see once again the twin towers gleaming in the reflection of the water, standing tall and proud in New York. And i would also like to see the looks on terrorist faces when they see them, and know they cant bring them down! i want to join very much. God bless the souls that were lost on 9/11/2001

Although the final decision belongs by rights to the people of New York City, as a native of the state & relative of City residents, I feel a kinship with the City. To restore it to its former appearance is the ultimate act of confidence & pride. We are fine as we are. To restore the towers would also be an exquisite memorial to those who died in their fall. Their sheer physical dominance of the sky would assure that the tragedy & courage of that day will never be forgotten.

Please Note: This petition is meant to provide a forum for this subject alone. It is a petition, not a bulletin board. We will not sanitize controversial remarks if the comments are primarily in support of the petition’s purpose. But off-topic remarks are subject to removal on a case-by-case basis to keep the focus where it belongs. Thank you.

Important Mention: Those who read back over the comments will find that from time to time we have highlighted excerpts to help those who only have time to skim a page get a sense of what people are thinking and feeling. We rarely do that now and it was never a methodical effort, but just a window on public opinion regarding this monumentally important issue. The important thing to know is that no comment matters more than any other. Each one is valued and helps make the case that the public was sidelined on something that mattered so much.

TTA Note: Occasionally a current signature will disappear. When that happens it is because someone who has already signed the petition signs a second time and when the second signature is validated the two are automatically merged and appear in the original chronology. If someone leaves a second signature and comment, it automatically overwrites the earlier placement when the validation link is activated. If it isn’t activated, or it is made using a different email address, there will be duplicate signatures. When we recognize that someone has signed before, we will delete the earlier entry and, if it was verified, verify the new one, since the clear intention is to make the new comment visible. We may decide to manually include the earlier comment at the end of the current message.

Regarding anonymous signatures: Taking a stand using one’s full name is always preferred, but when a name is withheld, the signature and sentiments are still of value. In every case, we have an email address that corresponds with the entry and is kept private.

* Indicates that the signer has not yet activated the validation link, often due to spamblocking software. They are included out of respect for the sincerity of the comments.
