  1. i want the people to restore the twin towers to remind the everyday people what happend and show the people that destroyed them cool towers. i cant picture new york or the united states without them. besides the ones they want to build is so unreminded about the tragedy. i really hope they rebuild the old towers and show how the us is strong.

  2. Deroy Murdoch of the National Review said it best, the {freedom tower} is alienating and dull, and reflects a sense of fear rather than freedom, leading them to dub the project “the Fear Tower”.

Rebuild the towers, and get it done all ready! I hear word (Wikipedia) the entire project may not be completed until 2037! That’s BS. I was 16 years old 9/11.. that means I’d be 52 went everything is said and done. I hope it’s a lot, lot sooner. Let’s get to work, and rebuild!

  3. The other day I was on a skyscraper forum. On the Freedom Tower thread someone asked why couldnt they have just rebuilt the Twin Towers. Some FT supporter told him “because people dont want to be reminded of 9/11 everytime they look out their window” It was the most outrageous comment ever! What happened to “Never Forget”? The New WTC complex is designed to do exactly what they want. Bury 9/11 under the crashing of their waterfalls in the pathetic memorial. Our country cant afford to forget.

  4. The twin towers have been apart of our history for lots of years. Up until 9/11 everything was fine. This freedom tower is stupid. We want a major national landmark back now.

  5. Lets rebuild them taller and stronger! Let’s show whoever was behind 9/11 that America will return with these towers, and that we will not let them be taken away! Americas back baby!

  6. The World Trade Centers deserve to be rebuilt, families of 9/11 even agree. The present design including the Feedom Tower will not even be recognized as World Trade Plaza. The Freedom Tower is only occupied on half of it’s floors, wasting steel and creating a tall eyesore. When the WTC was taken from us, we chose to remain strong, and strong we will.

  7. Its too late to rebuild the WTC. And I would like it as much as everyone else. There is no where else to build it. Most of America and the world would like to have the WTC no america had to have it there way. I am outraged that the citizens had choice. You know how it was decided? A contest. That just sounds stupid. I mean it sounds like someone made a drawing and they put little ribbons on it. It just sounds childish. I mean how was this country formed was there a contest? NO! We voted on our freedoms (that may be wrong) but still.

  8. Rebuilding the Twin Towers is the ONLY way to make New York really ‘New York’ again. Most Americans agree with me on this. It blows my mind why the government is constructing the Freedom Tower, even though 99.9% of the nation is opposed to it.

  9. I do not live in NY and have unfortunately never had the opportunity to visit. However, the events of September 11, 2001 were felt across America and throughout the world. An icon of one of America’s greatest cities was utterly destroyed, killing thousands, and instead of taking pride and rebuilding it and honoring those lost, the people in charge of the project have remained ignorant and dismissive of popular opinion throughout. “Freedom Tower” is a joke, in name and design. Give me TTII.

  10. From the moment I moved into rage at the monstrous cancers who attacked us that day, I wanted the towers back — one floor taller. Taller. Defiant. Bold. Unbowed, uncowed.

I am literally ashamed that whoever is stealing our money in Lower Manhattan might actually be American. They should turn over their passports and be shipped to the Sahara. Right now.

No offense to Mr Libeskind, but the Freedom Tower concept always, always left me cold. It seemed more like a personal affirmation of someone’s fantasy of how not to be thought of as angry.

    Enough.

This is what eminent domain should be used for. For us to take back the property, hand it over to the hard hats who built the original and who helped clear The 16 Acres.

    Then stand back.

America, please, get angry and do not stop being angry until the Towers are back and then some.

TTA Note: That’s what is so foul — we don’t have to take it back by eminent domain — the World Trade Center site already belongs to the people of New York and New Jersey. But it certainly isn’t being handled as if it belongs to us… Why is there so much disinformation floating around, regarding such an intrinsically important issue?

  11. Ever since that tragic day I hoped and prayed that the towers would be rebuilt, in my opinion it’s the best way to honor those who were taken from us. The reconstruction would not just rebuild the towers but more importantly make our great country whole once again.

  12. Our enemies committed a dastardly act to deny America of our beloved Twin Towers of the World Trade Center. It is unconscionable to concede this denial by replacing our towers with lesser structures to hope to appease the terrorists.

We MUST rebuild our towers…not with mere duplicates of the original, but with twin towers that SURPASS the originals in size and stature, based on the original design, to demonstrate that AMERICANS WILL NOT BE DENIED!

  13. I’m from New York, and I was only 6 when the towers collapsed, back then, I didn’t know how bad that day really was. Now, I know how bad it really was, and I would like those towers to be rebuilt. Even though the other design is still going to rebuild the World Trade Center, the Twin Towers won’t be with that new design. I personally think America won’t be the same without those towers, so I, and many other Americans, hope that the Twin Towers will be rebuilt like the way it should be.

  15. If the Twin Towers are not rebuilt then the Terrorists have won! The Governor of NY and the Mayor of NYC must be receiving a lot of bribe money to stick with the trashy looking Freedom Tower design because they sure are not listening to the American people!

I AM AN AMERICAN CITIZEN, WHO WILL ONE DAY BE LIVING IN NEW YORK I WANT TO SEE THE TOWERS THERE STRONGER AND TALLER THAN BEFORE!!!!! When I went to NY last spring what I saw was horrible!! a pile of dirt and a structure of 6 floors being built of the new hidious freedom tower. “WE THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES…” not “WE THE POLITICIANS WHO DECIDE EVERYTHING.”

  17. The current design being built is bland and forgettable. The twin towers were once bold and distinct – Bring them back.

  18. I think it’s absurd that the Twin Towers are not being rebuilt in their original glory. The concept of the “Freedom Tower”, while admirable, is a concession at best and possibly criminal at its worst.

For God’s sake — we are Americans!!!! You may knock us down, but we’ll rise up again, stronger than ever.

    Rebuild the Twin Towers!

  19. Our country needs to show the rest of the world we can get through this kind of tragedy as strong as before. Rebuild.

  20. They should be rebuilt the exact same way just one floor higher. The terrorists need to know you may have gotten to us but we have and will continue to be stronger than ever.

  21. Rebuilding shows recovery, resilience, and strength. It shows we won’t be knocked down. We are America. Knock us down and we are going to brush ourselves off and stand right back up to you. It is symbolic. We can’t let them win by showing we are so damaged we can’t recover in some way. In addition to that all those that sacrificed their lives should have a legacy, a landmark, and a memorial. It should be rebuilt bigger and better with a memorial for the fallen.

  23. Although I’m only 12 years old, I think that the World Trade Center Twin Towers must be rebuilt to help make America what it’s supposed to be. The Twin Towers play an emotional part in my life. I never go a day without thinking about them. I’m hoping one day i won’t have to remember them in sadness. Instead I’ll remember the great time I had visiting them (which I hope will come soon). Those beautiful towers standing in lower Manhattan rising above NYC were just amazing. With the Freedom Tower in their place, America is not what it’s supposed to be. With the memorial to all those who died on 9/11 and the remains of the original north tower facade, the Twin Towers are the only right answer. Rebuild the Twin Towers!

  24. I am 16 years old at the time I sign this petition. I was 8 when the terrorists knocked down our buildings, killed almost 3000 Americans, and tried to bring us to our knees. It is great that we are pushing them back, defeating and dispersing them, however, the damage done to America’s being has not been fixed. The scar will always remain, but we must heal the wound. To heal that wound, we must rebuild the Twin Towers.
