The world was robbed of the 21st-century Twin Towers most of us always wanted.

the towers should be rebuilt just to make a point that america will not backdown and that terrorists will not scare us in any manner! the towers symbolize everything that america stands for, the different ethnicities, as well as, different cultures.
rebuild the towers! enough already!

Check out Belton and Gardner's plans to rebuild the Twin Towers. http://www.triroc.com/wtc/ Donald Trump supports their plans. And their memorial is brilliant.

I have had fond memories of the Twin Towers. I used to see them standing tall and proud as I played with my friends in a park. I went up in them on January 11th, 2001. My mom went up in them while they were being built. I want my children to look up to the skyline and see reborn Twin Towers standing tall for a new generation. There is nothing freedomy about the Freedom Tower. It should never have been thought up. The Twin Towers symbolized "standing together." God Speed TTA.

I think that we need to rebuild the Twin Towers. Just because they want us to be scared doesn't mean we have to submit to those who knocked the towers down!

I have everyday since 911 wanted America to rebuild the the twin towers.I keep thinking that the current site on ground zero from where the freedom tower is being constructed should include the new north tower with the south tower diagonal from it just like the originals. The new twin towers could have more reflective facades than the old twin towers, like wtc 7 currently has to make them look more updated.

Freedom Tower?! Let Me Just Say, WTF? Rebuild The Twin Towers! The Only Person That Has The Right Idea About This Is Donald Trump. I First Saw The Towers On My Very First Visit To New York, And They Were Stunning! But Now, The Manhattan Skyline Looks Completely Different, In Fact, It Look Naked! Please Restore The Buildings We Know And Love.

The only way to defeat terror is to rebuild the Towers stronger than before. I went to New York for the first time last year and could not see the Twin Towers. I hope I can see them when I return.

I ask what better momument of rememberance could we as a country build other than the Twin Towers? What else would be fitting? A Lobby in each to commemerate the old and added floors with space for the tokens from loved ones who lost their family members in the observation decks. What better symbol of our endurance and resiliance could we ever hope to build? Build them back higher stronger and more boldly, not some monstrous compromise of design and disunity.

Please rebuild the towers. They were an American icon. When they were lost I felt as if a part of me was lost as well. The new design just does not cut it. Only by replacing the towers will we be even more united against the enemy again. Nothing can look as beautiful as the Twin Towers.

All we have done since 9/11 is let the terrorists succeed. bin laden was not captured and we went into iraq who did not even attack us. The taliban is starting to regain power in afganastan. Utop all of this the Twin Towers space is still emptey. We MUST rebuild the WTC.

As long as the towers are gone. the vicious "scar" of September 11, 2001 will always remain on New York.
We must restore our pride and glory and rebuild the twin towers, and build them taller.

I do not think any one has the right to change the NY skyline but the people of NY so putting the towers back just as they were and even safer, bigger, taller and better sends a message that no one stops us and we'll just keep putting them back up if anyone is lucky enough to illegally try to tear them down a 3rd time. I would trust my life no where better then there. It would be too much a scar of a sad reminder seeing some imposter building in its place but a proud feeling to see them back!

i was only 11 when the towers fell but i can still remember the images of that fatefull day. there is no ther option but to rebuild these towers! the designs are awful and dont prove NYC justice! the buildings were only there for 28 years so lets prove that america will fight back and rebuild them exactly the same! perhaps with 9 extra floors on the south tower and 11 extra floors on the north tower (9/11) for memory of those lost on that memorable day. THIS INFORMATION MUST BE FORWARDED!!!!!!!!

Building anything else on the World Trade Center site would be nothing but a monument to terrorism, period. Put the towers back, but this time better, stronger and bigger, but visually the same. That would be paying the ultimiate respect to every single individual who lost their life that terrible day. Make large structual blocks bearing the picture and biography of every person lost, and that would be the tribute I'd bet every single last one of them would want.

The Twin Towers were a symbol, not only of New York, but of America, they embodied some of the tenants of our nation. They should be rebuilt bigger and stronger then they were to show the world that we are still here and that we are not, were not and will never be afraid.

I have waited for a petition like this. When they stated asking for plans for a memorial to put in place of the twin towers - my one and only question was why? The only true and lasting memorial would be the same skyline of New York for everyone to see. Especially the terrorists who think they crushed our souls. We need to show them that we don't cower to anyone. The USA would show the world that the towers will rise again like the phoenix from the ashes. We need to see our towers again.

As a retired military person and an American my belief is that those Towers need to be replaced exactly as they were and all persons involved that day are properly recognized.
Anything less would tell the terrorists they won and that they can do whatever they want to us because we are weak in their eyes. Not acceptable before 9/11 and definitely not acceptable now. We must NEVER forget this attack and we must let future generations know the full, complete story of what happened here.

Ive never been to new york and would like to go there one day and see the towers and think,Wow!I remember a time when that part of the sky was empty and the only way I could see those would be through an old picture. It makes me sad that I never got to see them as they were that I might go to New York this year and not see two massive symbols of liberty above the skyline. The freedom tower looks like something from 3000 and I think its too far ahead of its time to be enjoyed. We want 2 wtcs not 1!

However tall the new "Freedom Tower" would be, nothing would do better than new Twin Towers. A single tower will forever recall the day the terrorists won their victory.

The isalmo facists are always carping about their holy sites being desecrated by the mere existence us ‘infidels’. Well to me, the Twin Towers were as an important a symbol of the city I love as any mosque is to those who seek to destroy Western Civilization. Building something other than the Twin Towers in Lower Manhattan is to say to the terrorists- You Won!

What is being proposed to go up in place of the twin towers is a far cry from what once stood. Bring back the grandure that once defined New York City. Construct something that inspires great things and deeds among all men and women. Don't put up something that is a constant reminder of everyting that went wrong that day.

This is the best plan i've heard, hands-down!! RE-BUILD!! ... We need to show the world we will NOT be brought to our knees, by terrorism, or ANY attack!! And it also says , "If you attack us, we will come back taller, and stronger!!"

Please Note: This petition is meant to provide a forum for this subject alone. It is a petition, not a bulletin board. We will not sanitize controversial remarks if the comments are primarily in support of the petition’s purpose. But off-topic remarks are subject to removal on a case-by-case basis to keep the focus where it belongs. Thank you.

Important Mention: Those who read back over the comments will find that from time to time we have highlighted excerpts to help those who only have time to skim a page get a sense of what people are thinking and feeling. We rarely do that now and it was never a methodical effort, but just a window on public opinion regarding this monumentally important issue. The important thing to know is that no comment matters more than any other. Each one is valued and helps make the case that the public was sidelined on something that mattered so much.

TTA Note: Occasionally a current signature will disappear. When that happens it is because someone who has already signed the petition signs a second time and when the second signature is validated the two are automatically merged and appear in the original chronology. If someone leaves a second signature and comment, it automatically overwrites the earlier placement when the validation link is activated. If it isn’t activated, or it is made using a different email address, there will be duplicate signatures. When we recognize that someone has signed before, we will delete the earlier entry and, if it was verified, verify the new one, since the clear intention is to make the new comment visible. We may decide to manually include the earlier comment at the end of the current message.

Regarding anonymous signatures: Taking a stand using one’s full name is always preferred, but when a name is withheld, the signature and sentiments are still of value. In every case, we have an email address that corresponds with the entry and is kept private.

* Indicates that the signer has not yet activated the validation link, often due to spamblocking software. They are included out of respect for the sincerity of the comments.
