The vision for the twin towers, and their construction was during a time in American history when our nation was an economic superpower, our prosperity was growing, and our future seemed bright, and towering. I was born the same year the twin towers were built 1971. I never got the opportunity to go in them but did see them from the air. I have always been fascinated with them and even more so now that this has gone by us. I would honorably walk in and being afraid of heights, go all the way to the top upon completion and be proud to say, I not only accomplished this dream, but got to see what once was and now is the landmark that should be... The new one world trade center is beautiful, but not what we(I) want... Please rebuild them.....

Freedom tower is a crap! Rebuild the twin towers and save the NYC portrait. NYC is not NYC without the twin towers.

I can just say I wish I had the opportunity to visit the Twin Towers. They were so beautiful in their own unique way and people in high places need to realize that rebuilding the Twin Towers would certainly help heal a huge scar that still exists in every corner of the world today. Hopefully in my lifetime the towers will be rebuilt right where they once were.

I was young when this tragedy happened, but old enough to know what was going on. It affected me greatly and my heart and prayers go out for the familes that lost loved ones and close ones. I think that the towers should be rebuilt but stronger and higher. I myself would have loved to see the towers. I know now how special they were. Rebuild them!! The new One World Trade Center, in my opinion, is not an icon but simply another skyscraper in New York. Worse, if you look at it from the right angle it tapers in a very ugly manner. I do believe that the Twin Towers should be rebuilt better, taller, and stronger. It would leave a lasting image if our country and city's resilience, and honor those who died on 9/11.

The Twin Towers were a representation of America's world power, not only because of their colossal stance but also because of its economic strength. New York built not one but two giant landmarks where 50 thousand Americans went to work every day! This differentiated those towers from anything else that this world has built giving it a distinctive overpowering image to everyone and anyone who had the privilege to either work there or to see them in person.

The freedom tower is a symbol of the governments freedom from popular opinion. it is a disgusting sight that honors no one. I believe the people who died that day would want us to rebuild bigger, better and stronger twin towers to show we will not be broken as a nation. The Freedom Tower was a capitulation to the terrorists. They were determined to eliminate the twin towers as a symbol of the United States, making two major attempts, and in the end, they got what they wanted. Having two, huge twin towers on the skyline was so striking, impressive, and iconic, as opposed to just adding some more skyscrapers. Rebuilding the World Trade Center as it was, except bigger and better, would have been the most fitting memorial and sent the most powerful message of resiliency and determination.

I was born in 1996, which means the towers fell when I was five. I was in Kindergarten at the time. Thus, I and millions of others grew up in what is called a post 9/11 era. I've never been to New York. I never got to see them, I hadn't even heard of them yet. And so those terrorists have robbed me of a life with these beauties in the New York sky. I hope this is on-topic. I wish the Freedom Tower had NEVER been built and that the Twin Towers were rebuilt EXACTLY as they were before September 11, 2001.

The twin towers are our american icon &we can't just replace them with a retarded mediocre tower that only makes us feel worse that terrorists destroyed our landmarks forever. We should rebuild and show that the landmarks that fell long ago are rising up from the dead, and being reborn, in defiance of terrorism, of what happened that horrible day. Every time I think of New York, I think of the twin towers. I want them rebuilt again because it feels as if there is a big hole in my heart after the twin towers disappeared on 11 September 2001 and I want the town in my heart to get his face again.

I can't believe that a great city like New York would not think of rebuilding the twin towers. As cool as the new One World Trade Center is, It doesn't belong. New York has always been known for a couple of things. Statue of Liberty and The Twin Towers. Come on America, let's get enough signatures and voice our opinion. A twin freedom tower should be built. The skyline isn't the same. Although they are building Two World Trade Center at the moment, it will not look as nice as having Freedom Twin Towers. One World Trade Center just stands all alone and by Itself. It would look much better with a twin. It should have what the South Tower had, no antenna and an outdoor observation deck while One World Trade Center has the antenna. Do the right thing!

As I sit here on the very date that we lost thousands of lives with this great tragedy, I think of how many times I have driven through downtown Manhattan and have passed what I can depict to be an eyesore.

This building not only lacks in design by so many measures.
The fact that I can pick other skyscrapers in Manhattan that were erected since the 9/11 disaster that would have been a better replacement is pathetic!
I do truly understand why nothing was built on the grounds themselves in respect to the families of the many lives that were lost but if there is a feasible way to rebuild a more beautiful and better twin towers in that area, then why not do it???

It's not right that the Twin Towers were not rebuilt. I pray everyday that we build these building again. Put them back up because they had no business being taken down in the first place. If you accidentally knock over your glass of milk you dont refill it with soda put them back the way they were.

I want the twin towers to be rebuilt because I never got to see them. The towers should be built on the waterfall footprints. The names of those who have died on February,26,1993 and September,11,2001 in both tower lobbies. The towers will give more office space for those who want to work in them. It will give people a chance to see what the towers were like before 9/11. New York needs to have its twin towers back in the skyline.

The most absurd thing is that you have decided that the world changed after the attacks. It is also absurd that politicians and journalists decided that the only memory of the twin towers that people should have is the destruction. The terrorists wanted to see us in perpetual mourning. We have let them get that they want. An idiotic excuse someone has said to not build the twin towers was that "it would erase history." Rubbish! Now comes the most shocking fact. In movies and television shows have been censored scenes where the twin towers appear. Twin Towers can be built up in a respectful way! The United States of America should never give in to fear that allows the terrorists to decide our skylines. We are a very proud and courageous country and the American Dream resonates very strong throughout this world. The Twin Towers were a brilliant beacon of our message realised. I think we should have the regular towers built back I mean I miss seeing them beautiful towers in manahatten if the mayor won't have it done well that's just that but I believe this towers helped us pull things together

I was only 7 when the towers were attacked, but since I was a kid I always wanted to live in NYC, but as I've visited the city in recent years, the skyline looks weak. I never saw the towers in person. While I do understand why they're not building them exactly as they were, after all the old towers were dated, they needed new safety features to prevent such a tragedy from happening again, but the new site just doesn't look like New York. Rebuild new twin towers, taller and stronger than before, otherwise the terrorists got what they wanted.
