I really don't understand why the new world trade center plan has been approved and is being built. It is a very unsatisfactory replacement for the magnificent, grand and elegant twin towers that were truly awe inspiring and pierced the New York Skyline so beautifully!
The Freedom tower is an odd design that will look out of place in New York, and more to the point doesn't mean anything. It's simply another skyscraper out of many that have risen from the ground over the years. As for the other surrounding towers that accompany it, disgraceful is not even the word. They are all at random heights and at different angles which frankly, look odd.
The whole design looks like an art project designed by a high school kid... That cannot be the case! REBUILD THE TWIN TOWERS!!

Dear all,

I firmly believe that the current design for the WTC site is deeply flawed in all respects: architectural, functional, aesthetic, and spiritual. The one silver lining of the devastating attack NYC suffered on September 11, 2001 was this: we were given the opportunity and the honor to build the 8th wonder of the world, something awe-inspiring, brilliant, and original.
Since demolishing the new One World Trade Center is inconceivable, I propose a compromise in building it a twin. We could then salvage the image of the original WTC without mimicking it exactly. It would even cost less to build a second Tower One in place of Towers 2, 3, and/or 4.
Ask yourselves? Do you want a generic office park? Or perhaps something more...

TTA Note: Demolishing the Freedom Tower is not inconceivable, just as a matter of fact -- especially considering the affront to our system of government that it represents -- but we are not suggesting that be done. It can be capped and would just become another skyline element -- instead of rising to full height, where it would resemble the hundreds of obelisks that rise above the tombstones in cemeteries around New York. The Twin Freedom Tower idea has been persistently suggested, but there is no available space to put it where it would be a twinned structure.

I feel deeply in my heart that we should rebuild the Twin Towers. Better, Stronger, Safer and Taller. This so-called "Freedom Tower" is an atrocity and it also makes it seem that America is fearful and weak. Fearful of the terrorists in which case they have succeeded, weak because we are perceived to not be able to get over these attacks and that we fear that rebuilding them would be a sad reminder. That is not true. We need the Twin Towers as a reminder that we are STRONG! That we can pick ourselves up after being knocked down. After all, the saying is "If you get knocked off a horse, you get right back on it." Not, "If you get knocked off a horse, ride a cow."

I was young when the towers falled. I'm not an American but the 9/11 is something really important to me. The Freedom Tower is crap. It does not symbolize anything and if they complete it, Manhattan won't have its normal skyline ever again.

It's stated in the Constitution of this country that we have the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. If the twin towers aren't rebuilt, it's a slap in the face to those who lost their lives and those who try to carry on, a major destruction of an important symbol of American liberty, and most importantly an obstruction to the general desire of the public. There was a great loss in life on 9/11, but if the towers are rebuilt, we can be reborn as a nation.

I think the twin towers should be rebuilt, same design but taller. This will show the world that America will prevail and we stand together strong. I pray for all the families of the victims, and I pray that the right decision is made when rebuilding ground zero.

Why should we try and "move on" to the "freedom tower." We should rebuild the twin towers to forever enshrine the memory of the originals. To help rebuild the city and its perception.

I was a little kid when the twin towers were destroyed. I have always dreamed to see those buildings in real life. THE TWIN TOWERS BELONG TO MANHATTAN, THERE IS NO REAL REPLACEMENT!

In memory of all 9/11 victims...

The Twin Towers were one of the most beautiful buildings in NEW YORK! I strongly believe that the Twin Towers should be rebuilt stronger and safer! I have always wanted to go to New York and I might be going in about 4-5 years and would like to go and see some progression with new Twin Towers!!

I'm not american, but i love that beatiful country. And i really prefer the reconstruction of the World Trade Center. I saw the famous Twin Towers in many movies and pictures in the Internet. Sometimes, i wish i was there to go inside them and see NYC from the (real) highest point of view.

I was 7 when the Towers were destroyed. Now i have 17, and when i see NYC without the Twins i think, "there's something missing in this city".

In my opinion, the Twin Towers ALWAYS will be better than any replacement building.

My sister was killed in the North Tower on that terrible day and I believe that the last thing that she and all of the other victims would have wanted is to completely change Manhattan's skyline, showing the terrorists have succeded in altering us forever. No, they should rebuild the towers and bring back the perfect skyline that was Pre-9/11 NYC. NOT the Freedom Tower!

Those towers at the south end of Manhattan for 28 years and in that time they became famous and iconic landmarks of New York City, just like the Statue of Liberty or the Empire State Building. Without those beautiful silver towers, NYC is just missing something and nothing will replace them other than the towers themselves!!

Show the terrorists that America has not given in to them, rebuild the same towers BIGGER and STRONGER, not a totally different building - which is rubbish!

i think the sky is bad without the towers. The towers stood for something better then most thought. Now if the twins are not rebuilt, this could get bad. Remember the windows on the world? We will never see it again. Remember the top of the world observasion deck? Nope never again! If we don't rebuild the twins, the USA says to the world we lost. If we do rebuild them, were telling the world we won't lose! The memorial is a good idea, but it would be better to rebuild the towers with a memorial across the street instead. PLEASE just rebuild the towers. There is SOOO much support for them.

The Twin Towers were an American symbol. Just like Lady Liberty, apple pie and many other things. Without the Twin Towers America ain't the same. And most definitely New York City ain't the same. The Twin Towers were the most beautiful buildings in the whole world. Those two giants stood there defining hope, courage and liberty. The Twin Towers should be rebuilt. It's not too late to rebuilt them. If they are rebuild, that means that America has won. The Twin Towers would be symbolising all that is American again. Many people overseas, including me, loved The Twin Towers. I loved everything about those two towers. It's time to rebuild.

Donald Trumps version (the original version) of the WTC is the only design i believe in. I, along with millions in America and millions around the world will NEVER recognize the worst architectural design in history which is being put up now in NYC. The new design only shows something bad to the world. It shows that the terrorists defeated us and we will never be able to rebuild and it shows that the US government put their own personal wants and gains before its people. I also think it is a disgrace to the people who gave their lives on 9 11. If the orginal buildings were back in place it would prove to the world that peace and justice will always win in the end.

The twin towers were not only a symbol of New York or the USA, they were also a symbol of international peace and prosperity. That's why the two identical towers need to be rebuilt. It will show the rest of the world that no matter how much destruction and pain you throw at us, in the end, peace will always prevail.

Not rebuilding the Twin Towers show the terrorists have won by permanently changing New York's skyline forever. I bet the people who were killed on 9/11 would want the Twin Towers to be rebuilt, it would be a more proper tribute than just building one tall tower and a couple of other smaller buildings around it.

(I know I've signed this three times already, but I just support the Twin Towers that much.)

The Twin Towers should be rebuilt just as they were, only stronger, and one floor taller. And about that hunk of junk known as the Freedom Tower- instead of demolishing it to the ground, they could simply take it apart, piece by piece. And that metal from the Freedom Tower could be used to build the next Twin Towers. If we don't reconstruct them, the terrorists will have reached their goal in changing our skyline forever. Even if the new site gets completed, it can still be done- by disassembling the new WTC 1,2,3, and 4 and use the materials to build the Twin Towers II. And that idea alone proves that a new Twin Towers is never, NEVER too late!

TTA Note: Thank you for the fervent support -- but it doesn't help the cause when one person signs using different email addresses. When that happens, we delete the earlier signatures and give individuals a chance to merge the messages.

We are Americans, we are fearless, if terrorists declare war in our nation upon our buildings, we go to their land and they hear from us, and we build our buildings back better and stronger. We are strong and relentless people. To build the towers back how they were but better will show them who we are. Please, please, let's not just build three random buildings that don't even look good. That will be a mistake.

I came from the dominican republic when I was 10 years old. At 11 I visited the towers for the first time, coming from a tropical island I had never seen such high buildings. I like so many New Yorkers ( yes I resided in NYC -Washington Heights from 1981-2003)am saddened and disappointed with the powers that decided that one tower is good enough, that it would be an insult to those that in any manner of way affected by this tragedy, when in effect we as a whole have been and forever will be affected by this horrendous act of violence. I will never be happy with the plans that are in place now! and since this is all I can do to voice my opinion here it goes: The towers were a symbol to all NYers and we would be proud to have them on our land again!

As Donald Trump said we can't replace the Statue of Liberty, so also we can't replace the Twin Towers with 'The Freedom Tower'. I can't recognize New York without the Twin Towers and we can't just stay and watch how they are building something we don't want... What do you prefer to see Twin Towers or 4 ugly towers?

I believe that the Twin Towers should be built, not only because they are a symbol of America, but also they mean so much for the people of New York and the people of America. We need to show that if you destroy something dear and precious to us we will rebuild it, bigger and stronger. The terrorists tried to take those towers away from us, we must show them that those towers will never be gone, they will be there for ever.
