The other day I was on a skyscraper forum. On the Freedom Tower thread someone asked why couldnt they have just rebuilt the Twin Towers. Some FT supporter told him "because people dont want to be reminded of 9/11 everytime they look out their window" It was the most outrageous comment ever! What happened to "Never Forget"? The New WTC complex is designed to do exactly what they want. Bury 9/11 under the crashing of their waterfalls in the pathetic memorial. Our country cant afford to forget.

Deroy Murdoch of the National Review said it best, the {freedom tower} is alienating and dull, and reflects a sense of fear rather than freedom, leading them to dub the project "the Fear Tower".

Rebuild the towers, and get it done all ready! I hear word (Wikipedia) the entire project may not be completed until 2037! That's BS. I was 16 years old 9/11.. that means I'd be 52 went everything is said and done. I hope it's a lot, lot sooner. Let's get to work, and rebuild!

i want the people to restore the twin towers to remind the everyday people what happend and show the people that destroyed them cool towers. i cant picture new york or the united states without them. besides the ones they want to build is so unreminded about the tragedy. i really hope they rebuild the old towers and show how the us is strong.

I was born in New Haven, Conn. in 1947, I've been in the Empire State Building a few times but never in either Twin Towers, but every time I went into New York City the first thing I saw was the Twin Towers, you can't help it, it was the mascot, it was the Greeting to New York City.
Make these new Twin Towers even bigger and better!!!

The Freedom Tower is nothing other then a victory trophy for Al Qaeda. I would love to see the towers built bigger and better than ever to show our defiance against terrorism. I was never able to visit those beautiful buildings, but someday I hope to visit the Twin Towers, not the freedom tower.

The Twin Towers were my favorites. I want them to be rebuilt. Because I never thought that on September 10 2001 would be the last time I saw them in my life.

I was 10 when the towers collapsed. I'm 19 now and the towers are only memories in movies, photos, and sadly, video of 9/11. Not rebuilding them means that we are still afraid. We are not. Rebuild them and show that we are strong just as many heroes were that day.

The twin towers were a beautiful landmark of the city. Those unmistakeable towers were unique to the city and played a big role in the heart and spirit of the city of New York. A classic work of art unlike the plans for a trendy fashionable new Freedom Tower which would quite frankly stick out like a sore thumb amongst the rest of the Manhattan skyline. As a future resident of New York City, I hope for nothing more than to see these towers stand tall and strong, regaining the beauty of the New York skyline.

An overwhelming 92% of people polled voted to rebuild the twin towers. Financially it is much more economical, safer, and overall a better thing. If it isn't rebuilt, it would be a disservice to all people especially the young children who were of school age and younger and are now unable to see the majesty of the towers. My sister was a baby and i want her to be able to see the towers. Think of the families, please.

Please, if the government has any respect for the people of America and of course, those who were deeply effected by the tragic event of September 11th 2001, then they shall rebuild the towers in memory of those who died that day.

Stop the construction of the freedom towers now, and let us show the terrorists that they have not, and never will win.

God bless America

I was 11 when the towers were hit. I still remember how shocked I was. I remain shocked to this day. Please, rebuild the towers, as a sign of your resolve and unwillingness to give up. It will fill every freedom-lover's heart with joy all over the world.

I think the main reason people want a ttii over the freedom tower is because the ttii is bigger. we are American, bigger is better. but, if they cant even fund the freedom tower, how the heck are they gonna build two largest buildings in the world, and a monument, and everything.. anyways im all for it, i do believe the freedom tower is week sauce so good luck with your petition.

TTA Note: That is the beauty of the "Twin Towers II" plan -- it is far more economical to build one uniform tower twice than all of the unique floorplates in the current plan. There are many reasons why people prefer the Twin Towers over the current plan but the Freedom Tower and the Twin Towers are essentially the same height -- although the spire on "Twin Towers II" will have a staircase within, while the decorative antenna on the Freedom Tower is just a dishonest way of jacking up the height.

Rebuilding the twin towres is a great idea because it shows the strength of america. It shows that when we get knocked down we can get right back up.

I can't believe this is even an issue. It should have been right from the start to re-build both towers bigger, safer, and as quickly as possible. I'm a New Yorker living in Fl now and it's a sad to see the stumblin' and bumblin' that is going on. Build it right or don't bother.

Rebuild the symbol of the American people. The twin towers represented truth, courage and the spirit of America. Build them to represent America again.

Listen to the voice of the people.
Rebuilding the twin towers will help heal the wounds of 9/11.

It's our country. 9/11 broke our hearts. If we rebuild, we will have a strong economy, our spirit and THE TWIN TOWERS.

For those of us who have seen the movie Click, seeing two freedom towers built side by side made me feel pure inside. It felt right, and looked like a good memorial and triumph over 9/11. A true mark of victory is to add another mark of victory. Show the terrorist that they didn't bring us down, but made us stronger.

The NYC skyline is just not the same anymore..

It's a puzzle with 2 pieces yet to be found, them pieces are the Twin Towers.

Lets get them back up there, doing America proud and showing the world that no matter what, we fight back and become bigger and better than ever

Build them stronger and more robust than ever±

I remember the towers when they were being built and when they were completed. They were something to behold! How many of you search for them in movies shot in New York before 9/11? What is planned to be put in their place is an insult! Rebuild the Towers!

When you were young, made buildings with Lego or Sandcastles at the beach. Lets take sandcastles, you build two. Then somebody comes along and intentionally knocks them both down. Would you rebuild both or just one? Personally, I would rebuild both! One is like admitting defeat. But two, standing taller, signify power and pride. To summerize the above: Rebuild the Twin Towers!

Freedom Tower, along with the rest of the new WTC Complex is completely meaningless, bearing no memory to those who lost their lives on 9/11/01. I cannot emphasize this next point enough... Stop building that monstrosity that is 'Freedom Tower' and bring back the icons of the American Economy - The Twin Towers! A poll conducted by MSNBC found that 92% of Americans would want to see the Twin Towers rise from the ground again. 8% want to destroy New York. Pretty conclusive I would say.

First of all, I'm a citizen of other nation. Anyhow, I just want to support in rebuilding the TWIN towers in the WTC site- better, stronger, & taller! in this way we can remember the memories of the wounded hearts of the thousands of people killed/victims on that terrible day, also this is a bolder message to send terrorists that New York or the USA will NOT be defeated. "We can make things possible if we truly believe we can." Restore the New York skyline to it's previous beauty.

I just finished reading the Wikipedia article about what building has been chosen for the main WTC building. I said to myself, "WHAT!?" It just isn't right to not rebuild the Twin Towers. I remember seeing the Towers from my window all the way in Woodbridge, NJ (about 2 driving hours from NYC) and think, "wow I'm so close to NYC, cool!" It was my beacon, telling me where I was, almost like a compass. It would be a shame to never see that beacon again.
