The towers need to be back where they belong. Rebuilding should be the only option.

It seems that if they continue to build this shoddy replacement tower, the terrorists have won. Not only that, the arabs tower in Dubai is taller!

If the Lincoln Memorial were destroyed, we wouldn't rebuild an empty chair.

Ever since that tragic day I hoped and prayed that the towers would be rebuilt, in my opinion it's the best way to honor those who were taken from us. The reconstruction would not just rebuild the towers but more importantly make our great country whole once again.

I, like so many others, joined the U.S. Marine Corps because of what happened on 9/11. We fought/are fighting the forces responsible for that tragic day, and in the process, many more American lives have been sacrificed. We owe it to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. We owe it to the people of New York. We owe it to ourselves as Americans as a symbol of our strength and undying spirit. Please rebuild the towers and show the world that when we get knocked down, we come back stronger than ever.

I am from Argentina and i was 5 when this hapenned. But now i became really interested in the subject and i can't believe they are building that ugly tower called 'freedom tower' so let's get one thing straight: THAT'S NOT HOW AMERICAN PEOPLE THINK, AS FAR AS I KNOW I HAD NEVER SEEN AN AMERICAN PERSON DREAMING SMALL DREAMS OR GIVEN UP.
ALL I CAN SAY IS THAT I ADMIRE SO SO SO SO MUCH ALL AMERICAN PEOPLE, THEY ARE TRUE EXAMPLES.

ps: Build the twin towers, again.

From the moment I moved into rage at the monstrous cancers who attacked us that day, I wanted the towers back -- one floor taller. Taller. Defiant. Bold. Unbowed, uncowed.

I am literally ashamed that whoever is stealing our money in Lower Manhattan might actually be American. They should turn over their passports and be shipped to the Sahara. Right now.

No offense to Mr Libeskind, but the Freedom Tower concept always, always left me cold. It seemed more like a personal affirmation of someone's fantasy of how not to be thought of as angry.

Enough.

This is what eminent domain should be used for. For us to take back the property, hand it over to the hard hats who built the original and who helped clear The 16 Acres.

Then stand back.

America, please, get angry and do not stop being angry until the Towers are back and then some.

TTA Note: That's what is so foul -- we don't have to take it back by eminent domain -- the World Trade Center site already belongs to the people of New York and New Jersey. But it certainly isn't being handled as if it belongs to us... Why is there so much disinformation floating around, regarding such an intrinsically important issue?

I sign this petition on behalf of those who perished and would want to see the WTC restored, regardless of their demise, whose thoughts on the matter no one seems to take into consideration.

I do not live in NY and have unfortunately never had the opportunity to visit. However, the events of September 11, 2001 were felt across America and throughout the world. An icon of one of America's greatest cities was utterly destroyed, killing thousands, and instead of taking pride and rebuilding it and honoring those lost, the people in charge of the project have remained ignorant and dismissive of popular opinion throughout. "Freedom Tower" is a joke, in name and design. Give me TTII.

Rebuilding the Twin Towers is the ONLY way to make New York really 'New York' again. Most Americans agree with me on this. It blows my mind why the government is constructing the Freedom Tower, even though 99.9% of the nation is opposed to it.

Generations to come will have to put up with the mess that currently burdens the WTC site, no-one in their right mind should let that happen.

The towers of world trade center had always been an American symbol. I am Brazilian and here in Brazil all want the towers as it was before and I am certain that everybody also wants this. I do not know to say English, I used a translator to say these words, but valley imposes a fine on an effort it reconstructs this project of the towers therefore is what more it is come close to the americano symbol!

TTA Note: Since it was obviously important to him to leave this message, but the second part was so unclear, we wrote to ask if he would like to send us his comments in Portugese. When we get them translated we will add them -- but for now, here is the Portugese. If anyone reads this who can help with the translation, please let us know at rebuild@twintowersalliance.com.

Mas New York sem as Torres Gêmeas Não é New York.

New York IS the skyline we used to see. It simply IS. Seing anything else, as the Freedom Tower (nothing against its design) means showing that terrorist CHANGED our lives. NO, they didn't! Let's show them they didn't and that we are strong as ever, as before.

Since 9/11 I became shocked as to why those buildings came down.
I have loved NY always and look forward to visit there for the first time, but not without the twin towers in the city!
The project for TT II is well underway and it seems the best solution.
I don't like the Freedom Tower and all those 'skyscrapers' which are not comparable to the original buildings.
I hope to see the skyline again with those twin buildings rebuilt again.

As a retired Army veteran of 23 years and former New Yorker (Bronx), my message is simple and to the point, REBUILD THE TOWERS!! Rebuild them just as they were, hell add some more floors and regain the "tallest in the world" title.

I always had a fascination for the World Trade Center Twin Towers. I was devastated when 9/11 occured. I along with thousands of others never had a chance to see the WTC in person and rebuilding it not only proves America's stand as a strong country, it also shows that it has made a comeback and nothing can stop it.

I was really fortunate enough to visit the twin towers on 2 occasions during a short holiday to Manhatten in October 1993, Ironically, a few months after a previous terrorist attack. I visited the outside viewing area from the top of the South Tower both at day, and at dusk. The view of the city captured my heart. Nowhere on Earth can give you that amazing feeling or view of the best city in the world, bar none.
Don't let these brainless maniacs take our way of life from us. Rebuild the towers.

To not rebuild the Twin Towers back to its ORIGINAL WAY is admitting defeat and failure to these "Terrorists" who committed these acts, the Twin Towers should NEVER be replaced by the Freedom Tower... Give the Americans what they want, to stop building this Freedom Tower and REBUILD the Twins Towers the exact way as they were prior to September 11 2001.

Its too late to rebuild the WTC. And I would like it as much as everyone else. There is no where else to build it. Most of America and the world would like to have the WTC no america had to have it there way. I am outraged that the citizens had choice. You know how it was decided? A contest. That just sounds stupid. I mean it sounds like someone made a drawing and they put little ribbons on it. It just sounds childish. I mean how was this country formed was there a contest? NO! We voted on our freedoms (that may be wrong) but still.

The World Trade Centers deserve to be rebuilt, families of 9/11 even agree. The present design including the Feedom Tower will not even be recognized as World Trade Plaza. The Freedom Tower is only occupied on half of it's floors, wasting steel and creating a tall eyesore. When the WTC was taken from us, we chose to remain strong, and strong we will.

To not rebuild the Twin Towers is to admit defeat and acknowledge the terrorists won. There is only one New York skyline and the 'politically correct' plan does not restore that. If you want to show courage, unity and strength there is only one way to do that. Rebuild the Twin Towers.

The twin towers have been apart of our history for lots of years. Up until 9/11 everything was fine. This freedom tower is stupid. We want a major national landmark back now.
