i live in southampton and was in florida 2 days before 9/11 . my mum promised me that in 2003 we would see the twin towers while i was in florida . i went to ny in 2003 but cryed when i saw ground zero . im going when freedom tower is built but i would much rather go and go inside the new twin towers . plz build dem agen . give them another chance
I do agree, I would love to see this re-built. A native of Chicago, I have not been to NYC. But those towers represent strength, the kind that does not come from a monument. Those towers were not just Manhattan. They were the first sign of financial power from the Atlantic heading westward. A beautiful and unique stance for America as a whole. Let's get them back up.
the twin towers should be rebuilt.
are we putting up a fight or are we just showing
osama binladin that we are giving up.
build the twin towers 5 more stories higher and stronger for anymore attacks.
people want to see them back.
The Twin Towers ARE a part of America's history, achievements and iconic standing worldwide. I want my children to grow up knowing terrorism is indeed a real thing in the world today, but not to fear it. To be courageous enough to stand up for what is right and to know America is strong and will not falter.
Rebuild so we can finally accept our victory!
Building anything that is not similar to the original WTC is shamefull, misses the mark, and almost equates to being Anti-American in my book. Let those architects design new projects elsewhere, but not here. Would they have totally changed the Statue of Liberty also? The WTC should have been declared a national monument on that horrific day, and all of these non sense feeble designs would have been avoided. HELLO GOVERMENT, CITY OFFICIALS AND ALL OTHERS INVOLVED : Put the WTC back up and lets move on!
just do it
As an engineer and a former Marine I understand both the form and the substance of what the twin towers embodied; I also understand what our enemies were truly trying to destroy on 9-11. We owe those who were lost on 9-11, and we owe it to the cavemen who tried to destroy us, to rebuild the twin towers taller, stronger, bolder and more magnificent and defiant than ever.
Taller and stronger. The "freedom tower" is nothing less than a 1776 foot tall permanent monument-of-defeat our enemies will rally behind. I can't stand to look at it.
The monument was destroyed by those who feared it. What better answer than to put it back?
They should rebuild the twin towers like they were.
Heck YESSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
FINALLY
A single tall tower will make our skyline no more remarkable than any other American city. Twin Freedom Towers or bust.
hi my uncle a fireman died tryng to save people. in his honor and alot of other people we should rebuild.
We want them back in the air.
Greetings from IRAN...I'm so sorry and I hope us to see the towers once again together...Those two towers are not just buildings...They are also the symbol of people who hate terrorism and everyone who brake the PEACE...so let us rebuild our world together!!
rebuild the twin towers!! we want the old new york not the future new york. its not even funny
9/11 was a horrible crime, and restoring at least the architecture of what that event took away is an imperative. Giving Lower Manhattan any other shape than the pre-9/11 one, means NY will remain a metropolis shaped by mass-murderers. Mixing the word “freedom†into it all doesn’t help. It’s intolerable.
A worthy memorial is also of vital importance, for those who lost dear ones and for the people still suffering from these memories all over the USA and the rest of the world.
The Twin Towers were iconic, they were New York. I was in NY and visited the twin Towers for the first time the week before they were taken away.
Look it's a no brainer, New York New York needs Twin Towers.
REBUILD.
Jed.
Two towers would be better than one.
I always hated the freedom tower. Building that horrible Tower where the once two greatest buildings in America use to be is untolorable. I don't know how they could just fall back like that. We are Americans. We take a hit, we get right back up, dust ourselves off and keep on fighting. We are a free nation. We have the most advanced military in the world and some of the most greatest landmarks in the world. The WTC was a great landmark but by rebuilding (not replacing) we will never forget 9/11.
PLEASE rebuild the towers.I have always hated the freedom tower. this is our chance to shine as Americans. Do it Mr. Silverstein!!
Hello from Toronto. The new plans just don't do it for me. We need the Twin Towers back. God Bless America.
I live on rector place just 3 blocks from ground zero and I think they should rebuild the way it was. The skyline doesnt look like new york without the towers and it never will if they build this new, bizarre complex.
Thanks,
Jeffrey J. Morris
While they will never be the same I need something to show my children, something that shows nothing good comes from backing down. These buildings while they resided in NY belonged to AMERICA and they should stand tall again.
Rebuild the towers and rebuild America!
refill the void in the city
I support and encourage the rebuilding of the WTC as it was before; the best way to repair the scar in the NYC skyline is to replace the towers!
The Freedom Tower does no justice to the victims of 9/11. It only points out the pervasive weakness in America. I was only a child when 9/11 happened, but I remember taking pride in those buildings. They exuded power and warmth. The Freedom Tower leaves me cold. Rebuild the Twin Towers so that we can show our strength again.
I lived in New York in 1989-91 and The World Trade Center twin towers were amazing! This so called freedom tower is a big joke & looks extremely ugly! what a horrible waste of taxpayers money! it seems as if what the public wants is falling on deaf ears and is never reported in the media! PLEASE bring the twin towers back stronger & better than ever.
Show the world not only do we rebuild other countries with our own funds, we rebuild our own America! We bow to no country, we stand strong and TALL!
Please, let's honor all of our fallen heroes.
The americans deserve a new twin tower set after this event god bless from ireland
yuayay bayy!!!!!!
Greetings from Lithuania. Hope that it will be rebuild.
I was supposed to be in the twin towers when they went down. Me and my family were in the car when my cousin got sick last minute. My aunt called my mother and told her that we had to get back home (we were on the way) and turn the t.v. on. We did so right as the second plane crashed into the tower. I'm extreamly happy that my cousin Luke got sick and I love him to death. :]
Re-build the towers please.
Twin towers were the symbol of America and specially to New York city and its rebuilding again, may be much taller than earlier!
Skyscrapers will always be targets. But, if tall buildings are again to be built on this site, then simply the best way to honor those who were lost... would be to replace what never should have been taken. Please, rebuild the twin towers - higher, stronger - better! It is absolutely the morally right thing to do.
On a trip to New York in 2000, my father promised me that "next time" we would climb those great silver monoliths I saw in the distance. "Next time" was in 2004.
Please, Mr. President, Honourable Congressmen, developers and people of New York and the United States, do not make my father a liar.
-Sean
The only proper tribute to WTC is to build the Towers once again, standing proud as a sign of strength!
It was sad watching the twin towers collapse in front of thousands of faces viewing in person. But hopefully, the bigger & better Twin Towers will not fall dead like the tragedy of 911. So I hope The World Trade Center will rise once more. Thank you for reading this important message on the 911.
We should rebuild these wonderful landmarks to be a much needed symbol of America's determination to stand strong and NOT SUBMIT to our enemies no matter how much destruction they try to inflict on us.
