From day one, I have been of the opinion that the best way to show the terrorists that they have failed is to rebuild the towers as they were, where they were. The floors where the planes hit can be reserved as memorial centers. Any skyline without the twin towers is something terrorist sympathizers can point to as a testament to their success for generations to come. When they see that we can rebuild anything they destroy, they will see the futility of their efforts.

My first thought on 9/11 was: let's build them back bigger and stronger! It is a disgrace that nothing has been done after 7 years to mark the place and keep the memory alive.

Yes, rebuild them even taller. They will be the memorial.

I think it is time to show other countries that just because they knocked us down once we cannot rebuild and prove to them that we are one and we remember but they made us stronger. We need to build it in memorial of all the fallen men and women and show them that we remember them and always will. I think too many people have forgot what happened that day and if we rebuild them it will remind everyone everyday of what did happen.

It is a crime that there has been so much stalling in rebuilding Ground Zero. Bring the towers back. Make them taller. Make them safer. It's time.

I was born and raised in Brooklyn and watched those Towers being built. They were and forever should be a symbol of the strength and spirit of the American people, no one should be allowed to destroy that spirit. Build them back the way they were.
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!

I never got to visit the towers before 9/11. Nothing would give me more satisfaction and pride than to one day make that visit to the rebuilt towers, as they were except maybe higher, say 125 stories each, and look out from the top floor to the east with a smile.

I agree...let's make New York, New York again! I believe seeing the Twin Towers back in that familiar skyline would unite the country (which has become evermore divided since then) and show the world that we will not change or bend to anyone's will. It would provide healing and perhaps some closure to one of the most horrific events our country has ever endured. Did they not repair the Pentagon? If flight 93 had hit the White House, would it not have been rebuilt? Let us do the right thing now!

Building ANYTHING else, tells the terrorists that THEY can make changes here.

The WTC must be rebuilt just the way it was. I worked in the WTC area for nearly 10 years (Wall and Broad Streets) and agree nothing else could be a better plan.

Use Trump's plan: Make the top 50 or so floors residential. That would help with Manhattan's housing shortage and make the buildings less attractive to the next bin Laden.

Rebuild the towers exactly as they were only taller!

As a former New Yorker, I have to say that it never made any sense to me why NYC would not rebuild the towers. Make them taller, stronger and in your face to Bin Laden. Make him see that we will not be cowtowed. Right now it looks like we are running away from the idea of offending any more idiots like him. Make it strong enough to withstand a nuclear missile strike, put Sidewinders on the roof, whatever it takes, but rebuild them!

If we do not rebuild what the terrorist have destroyed, they win. The Americans killed in the tragic events of 9/11 would not want anything else, and they deserve nothing less. Put back the Twin Towers. Put back American pride and values.

I'm pleased and excited that there is a common-sense approach to the question of the WTC and it's reconstruction. Why we need a new design escapes me. Just rebuild using the original plans. Now!

The only right thing to do is to build them exactly the way they were ...plus... one foot higher!

Build 'em back - higher. And put the memorial at the top - right next to the anti aircraft guns.

They should have been rebuilt before the end of 2002. Get it done.

We are making the future for our nation - do we want to live in terror; with our streets filled with car bombs and threats? If we rebuild, if we won't back down, if we don't live in fear... Only then will terrorism fail and our future be filled with peace!

Rebuild, stand firm, don't make any decision from fear!

Do the impossible, that will make us mighty.

Build 5 of them at escalating levels, so the 3rd one is the highest..then they precede to go back down. Kinda like a middle finger.

The World Trade Center towers were the physical embodiment of the global world trade movement dedicated to "World Peace Through World Trade". That's why the terrorists recognized they needed to destroy the buildings, so they could then work on destroying the educational, cultural, and political underpinnings of global trade more effectively. For the same reasons, we must rebuild, improving where we might, but rebuild, and reoccupy the World Trade Centers!

"You can knock us down but we will be bigger, better, and stronger than we were before!"

That should be the message and the towers should be built... bigger and better than before.

You are right. Everytime I see those great towers in an old movie I feel proud to be a native of NYC. Show the world a few crazy extremists cannot change the great skyline of New York forever. The original towers went up in record time and that was in the early 70's. We need to get this done. Stop screwing around and rebuild them!!

The symbolism lost by the twin towers is dwindling every day a plan is not in place to rebuild them.

Once, our enemies got in our face and knocked the towers down. Now, let us get in their face by putting them back up bigger and better than they were!

We've got to start being a politically-incorrect country. Our enemies view us as weak and timid. We have to develop a strategy of winning this war. I will not permit my son to fight a war to win the "hearts and minds" of middle eastern fanatics.

I will support a plan to win.

I urge our President to put us on the path of victory. If he does not, we can't defeat this enemy. Nothing President Bush says will convince us otherwise. We want a plan to win.

We rebuilt the Pentagon's damage in a year. Donald Trump was right. Rebuild the Towers, add a floor, and show our enemies their attacks will never stop America!
