Nothing could be a bigger slap in the face to terrorism and those who commit it than to rebuild the towers even taller than before. We MUST send a message than we will never back down, and that anything they attempt to destroy, whether it be a physical structure or our unique American spirit of freedom, will return bigger and better than before. They must be sent the message that the spirit of America will prevail at all costs.

I can't imagine a more appropriate memorial to those people who lost their lives than The Twin Towers. When I thik of that place, I don't imagine some whimsical, piece of functional art. I see the Twin Towers. They are a symbol of American optimism, love of country more than self and the American spirit of persistence and hard work in the face of unending opposition. I hope it's not too late to correct our course. The simplest solution is often the best. Let's finish the healing.

From the moment they fell, I believed that they should be rebuilt just as before, or perhaps a few feet higher, just to poke the terrorists in the eye.

We are Americans. We went to the moon! We have a rover on Mars! We settled this continent, and built these great cities. All the plans other than just simply replacing the towers are ugly, stupid, insipid, and insulting to Americans.

I lost my job after 9/11 and relocated to Iowa. The least they can do is rebuild it to the way it was.

Changing the architecture of the twin towers would NOT make the new constuction the Twin Towers! It would be different and America needs to show terrorists that we will not change for them. What a symbol of America's greatness and strength it would have been if we had governmental leadership that would have stood shoulder to shoulder with each other and rebuilt these towers right away. Instead we as Americans suffer with both democrats and republicans that would rather pathetically quibble and whine about each other. I ask that the politicians redeem something of themselves as "leaders" and rebuild the Towers as they were. What an awe inspiring memorial and symbol they would be!

I think that would be the ultimate symbol of healing for NYC and the US.

Our elected officials better remember that there are more than just the sound byte and "what entitlements will you give me?" voters out here in real America. You better get in touch with the rest of us or your days will be numbered. This is the biggest travesty in american history did we shut down pearl when the japs attacked it. NO! why not? because it would have been the wrong thing to do!!! the only reason the people in charge that includes the local state and federal governments have not allowed the towers to be rebuilt is because they haven`t done their job on securing the borders and keeping tabs on non citizens

I can remember as a college student visiting NYC. Looking up from the street below the twin towers. It was an awsome sight to behold! The view from the obsrvation deck was fantastic. The NYC skyline just isn't the same without the towers. The best tribute we could make to the thousands of Americans who were murdered that day would be to rebuild the towers. Maybe a little taller and a lot stronger! Let the terrorists know that they can't stop America! God bless the victims and their families

I really was inspired when NYC put up those two beams of light shooting up into the skyline in remembrance. Can you imagine the Twin Towers rebuilt, say a foot higher, with those same two beams lighting on top of them? Now that would be a sight for sore eyes! Rebuild the Towers!

Rebuild and put three huge crosses on their tops.
Add building-wide TV screens on the tops on all faces and let the world see that from their ashes the towers are back with more splendor, the splendor of a Nation under God.
