Rebuild the towers and make them taller. That's the best response to the terrorists, and it's a response we still haven't given yet. Let's get on with it already!

Frankly, I'm surprised that rebuilding them isn't the first and only option on the table. Of course they should be rebuilt! New York needs its towers back. This country needs its dignity back. It's the only thing that will truly heal the gaping wound left by 9-11. Their very existence would be a memorial to all who lost their lives on that idle Tuesday morning. And they would be a classic New York "thumb your nose" response to the terrorists who sought to bring us to our knees.

Our company is interested in signing a 25-year lease as an anchor tenant on the ground floor of one of buildings in the completed Twin Towers complex. We will offer the first $250,000,000 pending final approval of the construction budget of our SWANsat worldwide Super Wide Area Network satellite system. We'll be talking with the company that holds the rights to rebuild soon. For more on how we will attempt to accomplish this, please visit our website at http://swansat.com.

I believe in the rebuilding of the towers. even if it is just a replica structure and not functioning.it's the image of the two buildings before, that reminded us of what is good with America. the inner workings such as offices and business are part of it. but everyone in the world remembers those two structures. to restore them would not bring closure, but a sense of symbolic pride as to their representation.

It should not even be a question. We will make it better than it was before!

Rebuild them the same outside only taller and stronger inside. Add an appropriate defensive system as well. Besides who are these politicians to act as if they have ANY say over someone else's property? Realtors! Stand up with me now - let's keep fighting to keep private property rights for our fellow Americans - we're the first line of defense!
Drew, We appreciate your support and you have brought up a common misconception that we should clear up. The Twin Towers were built with public funds on publicly-owned property. The Towers were leased to Mr. Silverstein just before the attacks. Under the terms of the lease he has the legitmate right to comparable space in comparable buildings -- nothing more or less. The terms of his lease actually made him responsible to replace the Towers if they were destroyed, which was overridden by Governor Pataki. In fact, the World Trade Center has always belonged to the people -- even more so now that billions of dollars of taxpayer money have revitalized Lower Manhattan and future expenditures are contemplated. Those sixteen acres are property of the American Family.

Rebuild them with gold tinted aluminum and gold tinted windows instead of the original aluminum. With a
plaque ... Dedicated to the soles who died here.

On 11Sep01 I watched the Pentagon burn and then I was able to watch over the next year as it was rebuilt. New York needs the same thing. The only change might be to add a floor. Otherwise, our enemies can always look at the New York skyline and smile.

This is the best, most common-sense decision. For all the right reasons, rebuild.

It warms my heart to see the New York skyline with those Twin Towers reappearing on the website animation. I will gladly add my signature to the petition.

Build them 120 stories tall this time, and maybe build three of them (replacing #7 also). What better to replace the twin towers than the tri-towers?

Put it back how it was. This will be proof that nothing will tear us down. Not even knocking down the towers.

The true way to defeat the terrorists is to rebuild the towers. Show them that we will not back down. We will not retreat an inch.

Make the new buildings 50 - 100' taller. I would put one of my company offices up there if I can afford it.

Rebuilding of the Twin Towers would be, in my opinion, the ULTIMATE memorial to those who died at the hands of those crazies from the sand box.
