The pentagon was rebuilt the same way, why not the towers?
I'm sure if anything else would have been too. The Towers represented America and the American way. Get them back in the skyline the way they were, and show the world.

It's the right thing to do.

I believe that rebuilding the Towers is something that should be done. I think that the Towers being rebuilt would be a major ideological blow to anti-American terrorism worldwide.

Nothing would be more inspirational to the American people than putting the towers back exactly like they were. Maybe adding one additional floor as a memorial to all of the Americans who lost their lives that day. It would also show the rest of th world who we are. You may hurt us, but we will remain the people that made this country great no matter what.

This is what the American people want and need, we won't forget the "freedom tower" wasn't free!

From the moment the Towers fell on that horrible day, in my mind there never has been another option but that we should rebuild as they were, except even taller and better. Anything less is a victory for our enemies, and I can assure you that THEY see it that way. I'm sickened every time I see that empty skyline -- oh and think how the terrorists rejoice! -- and it needs to be restored; I honestly don't believe there can be any true "healing" for New York City or the United States without it.

The first thing I thought when people were wondering what to do with the site was "rebuild the towers taller and stronger than before". What is so hard to figure out?

These buildings need to be put back as they were. They should be halfway up by now. It is only the politicians that prevent this. They always seem to "know" what is best for us. If they don't listen this time, they need to be voted out. The American people are capable of and can handle anything. It is our government, our eternal babysitter, that denies us the ability to reach. It is sad.

Build the Twin Towers as they stood. It will show Bin Laden his only accomplishment on 9/11 was to awaken the sleeping giant once again. Japan made that mistake and paid a terrible price, as Mr. Bin Laden will.

I was in Manhattan this May for the first time since 9/11 and even though I was expecting it I was so saddened not to see the towers standing as sentinels. I went to the site and was appalled that so little had been done and although there were "plans" it still seems like there was too much uncertainty about how and especially when. I too agree that not rebuilding the towers is the only way to tell the terrorists that they will not beat this country!

This is what I have been saying since September 11, 2001. This would be the most profound way of saying "you did not beat us"!

Rebuild them. Make them 1 floor taller than before and give them a gold finish.

The towers are an integral part of this city. Better that the upper floors go unoccupied than to turn this site into something unfamiliar and alien. The current design is strange, compromised and without the soul and the character of what the towers now stand for.

We need to rebuild the Twin Towers.

Rebuild the towers, I was living in New York when the towers were built. We need to show all countries that we are united.

If your house burned down, would you allow the insurance company to hire an abstract artist to replace your traditional, 2-story home with an impressionist polygon? I think not! So, why replace what was lost with anything other than what was lost? Please, give us a break and do the right thing!

What a better way to show American resolve than to rebuild the towers. If you need to re-enforce them and get them up to current code, even better. The Freedom Tower is ugly and an eye sore, bring back our "twins"!

Build it one story higher!

Replace what was taken away. To those who believe rebuilding would only invite a third attack, I respectfully insist that the issue is not the design of the towers but our resolve to rid the planet of the menace of Islamist extremism. To aknowledge such fear is to understand that there is still much work to be done before we're truly free. Anything short of rebuilding smacks of concession to the enemy and may well prove to be no more than a monument to caving into fear.

Thank God there is someone organizing this effort! Why would we do anything but rebuild it the same way it was?

Building something else will signal that the Twins were a mistake in the first place and OBL helped us to correct it. Hence, rebuild the Twins! Made them taller and better!

I work for Aviation International News in NJ. Before 9/11, our office used to overlook the Twin Towers. I would love to bring back the beautiful view the office once had. They need to be rebuilt!

I absolutely believe they should be rebuilt in an "in your face" bigger and better manner. I cannot think of a better, or for that matter another, way to honor those who lost lives and loved ones that day. Put whatever means necessary in the construction of the buildings to better protect them from threats in the future and get them back up, the sooner the better. Otherwise, the terrorists win!
