Now is the time for Americans to realize that giving in to terror is never an acceptable path to follow! To heal, we must replace what was lost in order to maintain any self respect. Anything less is cowardly and a slap in the face to all who died on September 11, 2001. This is, stated simply, a watershed event in our history. Does America maintain its status as "the symbol of freedom and democracy" to the world or do we cower when confronted by pathetic fanatics?

By not rebuilding the Twin Towers, and replacing them with something else, is to admit defeat! It is to admit that what the terrorists hate about America is offensive and should be changed. By not rebuilding the Twin Towers (meaning something closely resembling them) we are letting the terrorists choose our landscape. We are giving voice to the preferences of those who seek to destroy us.

My close family friend Jackie was killed in the towers please rebuild them as the should be! Not as politicians want them. I looked at those towers all of my adult life and they stood for an ideal that all poeple have inherent right to exist as it wishes and still do business with others who may disagree. A small group of people disagree with that concept and think only there way of life counts! we need to show them they are wrong!

Let New York City be proud and stand behind this project and get construction industry the boost it needs in the area. Do it now when it cheaper to build than later.

I've loved these building since I was a child. I feel remorse every time I see a video ir picture of the New York skyline without the towers.

Nothing would speak to the futility of the "Ilsamo-facists" attack then to throw the towers right back up in the skyline. It's as if we were knocked back for a second but here we stand,... united,... again.

If the passengers of Flight 93 had failed in their heroic efforts to stop the terrorists, and that flight had reached the Capitol building or the White House, would they have been rebuilt? What about the Statue of Liberty or Independence Hall? Would we have let them be replaced by a Motel 6? Were the Towers anything less? Absolutely not! The Towers were attacked ONLY because the represented American ideals. Show that those ideals are worth standing up for; put the Towers back! NOW!

Donald Trump made this case a year or two ago. I agreed then and couldn't agree more now. Rebuilding the Twin Towers would say to the world and to all terrorists, you cannot win.

I believe that the greatest tribute to those who died, and the strongest message we can send their murderers, can be achieved by returning the towers to their original glory. So much has changed as a result of the attacks, and I think that we need to bring things back to the way they were, to show the terrorists that we will not be swayed by their evil. Building an "art peice" on that site would not have the same impact, and would still leave me feeling hollow when I look at the skyline.

Yes, build them as they were. BUT, add ONE MORE FLOOR, and make that prt of our memorial to the victims. It's time we stuck something in their eye for taking our towers. They laugh and plot against us with each passing day. Let's give them somthing to look at each day.

I was living in Clifton on September 11th and saw the towers burn from Grove Street near my home. I was in the Marine Reserve at the time and have been on active duty for three years since then to the mideast and Iraq.

I think there should be something equal to or bigger than the WTC towers to show the world our steadfastness. When the Arizona was sunk at Pearl Harbor they built new battleships that were bigger and better to replace her. Not just for the war, but for the show of resolve.

We must honor all the victims of 9/11 - those we knew and all those we didn't know. BUILD THE TOWERS - make the statement to the terrorists - WE WILL REBUILD EXACTLY WHAT YOU TOOK AWAY FROM US.

Don't let the political poltroons of NY's high public offices decide what should stand in place the WTC. The twin towers were not just a study in architectural skill.
They were a bold statement of what could be accomplished in a free society.
It is an insult to dub the WTC replacement as the Freedom Tower, given the manner in which the decisions for its choosing were made.WITHOUT YOU!

I can't think of any other monument that would be more appropriate than that which was stolen from us. There is no better way to honor those lives that were stolen.
