The best thing would be in fact new twin towers, on the same ground, in a different spot, and as tall as, or higher, than the old ones. Without useless skeletron spires to make them seem higher than they are. Real skyscrapers..
If the “Freedom Tower” were to be allowed to go ahead then for the rest of living memory people would be asking “where is the other one?” It would be disrespectful to the victims for an act of terror to become an architect’s opportunity. Restore

The Manhattan skyline looks incomplete without the Twin Towers. The so-called Freedom Tower would be the world’s biggest monument to the success of terrorists. In Dresden, they rebuilt the Frauenkirche, New York can do it too with the Twin Towers
This past Easter, having flown almost 12,000km from South Africa, I once again stood at Ground Zero to pay my respects to those people who died at the WTC.

What greater memorial to the victims, families and survivors could there be. Please rebuild. New York deserves its skyline restored and the Western World, its dignity.

The only changes I’d introduce would be to add one more floor and suppress the high-rise base that the old towers had that impeded the characteristic perspective of the grid of streets in Manhattan that allow you to see the horizon almost anywhere
The greatest victory for the terrorists who planned and executed this armaggedon would be NOT to raise the “9/11 towers”.Rebuilding would be the permanent monument to those who lost their life embracing freedom and democracy, not a hole in the ground

They should be rebuilt one story higher, but I think the new towers should be much more focussed on safety and a better build quality is drastically needed to ensure 9/11 doesn’t happen again (that would be a real kick in the nuts).
Also, I love the latest design for the WTC – I just think there should be two of them!
Rebuilding is a no-brainer. If the Twins are not rebuilt, it is an incentive to the terrorists to target other landmarks on the assumption they won’t be rebuilt either. Bit by bit, cities would be reshaped, with Al Qaeda as their architects.
I would never again go to New York if they don’t rebuild the towers (alltough I loved NY before 9.11.), because New York without the towers is a symbol for the victory of terrorism.

My belief is that the twin towers should be rebuilt to be visually identical to how they were, internally, the structure should be reinforced as a preparation for any further attack, should it happen. I agree that a memorial should be built on the site, but what better memorial than the twin towers, rising out of the ashes to stand tall again!

If it were the Sydney Harbour Bridge or Opera House, we Aussies would want to rebuild. This is no different. There shouldn’t be any other option.
