1) Must rebuild the Twin Towers
2) To remind ourselves, and to remind the entire world that American will always stand tall against all terrorists
3) Deny terrorists any chance to claim to world history that “Terrorists have forever ‘disfigured’ America!”, if anything-else-but-Twin-Towers is built here
The new buildings should be a proud testament to what America stands for: freedom of the mind and the pursuit of happiness, not submission to the terror that our enemies are trying to inspire in us. The twin towers represented the best of America.
Rebuild ’em. The 1776 foot mausoleum they’re planning now makes it seems as though we’re supposed to feel sorry for ourselves in the foreseeable future. I would love to one day goto ground zero and see the memorial dedicated to the first Twin Towers.
I’m not a New Yorker, but I want the twin towers back as they were. Those towers were one of my favorite skyscrapers and to build anything else in its place just won’t do. Ive never been a fan of the Freedom Tower concept. To me, it was more of a keep-it-safe compromise out of fear more than anything. I don’t mind building a memorial to commomerate the victims of 9/11, but if you’re going to rebuild that site, I just think they need to do it right and rebuild those twins.
Rebuild the World Trade Center. Spare us all the mawkish memorializing. Just rebuild the towers, make them as safe as possible, add a tasteful, discreet, respectful, unsentimental memorial, and let’s move on. Rebuilding is the best memorial.
Ever since 9/11, I have always believed that the WTC should be rebuilt exactly the same. Had the White House or US Capitol been hit, they would have been rebuilt–as the White House was after the War 0f 1812. Rebuild it!
