I was at the unveiling of the current proposed replacement tower, and the entire room was underwhelmed. Everyone wants the towers back. Bring them back.
Finally! I’m glad this petition has been created because I’ve felt all along that rebuilding the towers is the right thing to do. Apparently some other people do too!
Nothing would send a stronger message of resiliance toward terrorists, and, more importantly, Americans. We should stand up, show our courage, and rebuild the twin towers.
By not rebuilding the towers, we are showing them that they accomplished their goal. They set out to destroy a prominent landmark, standing for freedom and free enterprise in America. The towers came down but we have the power to rebuild them and send the message that we are not afraid and that we are still strong.
I am a former New Yorker who sorely misses those magnificent two buildings.
For us to raise a substitute building, no matter what explanation given, it would be a tacit sign that we have been defeated by an enemy of freedom and of our country.
I join with others who see in this attempt at an ersatz replacement and unfitting appropriation of land for a monstorous memo0rial to be a folly and a sellout of our forefathers.

That there is still a hole in the ground at ground zero is shameful. What is planned to fill it is not much better. The twin towers should rise again.

The twin towers should definitely be rebuilt, as long as it’s by a private company and not the government.
We get knocked down, but we get up again, you’re never going to keep us down…
Either rebuild the original towers with added safety features, or build the “flipping off those bastards” design.
