What better way to stick it back to the terrorist than to rebuild the WTC exactly the way it was? Nothing would hurt the terrorist more than to experience their own insignificance.
I want our buildings back just the way they looked and complemented the NY skyline. We must build them to withstand better though. This freedom tower idea is too idealogical. The modern angles of the freedom tower seem to geometric with weird angles. The twin towers re-built would have much greater symbolism than the freedom tower. I am also signing this petition on behalf of several other citizens that have expressed the same desire.
The Twin Towers were a symbol of American strength. If they are not rebuilt, that will be a sign of American weakness and that we will allow terrorists to push us around. A New York City skyline without the Twin Towers shows the world we’re not strong. I and many others want those beautiful buildings back. Do it for America. Do it for those who lost their lives.
I only wish that Pataki and Co. would open their minds to this idea. I just don’t feel the Freedom Tower will thrive economically, reinstate the NYC skyline, and send a message to the rest of the world.
I feel that we MUST re-build the Twin Towers as ANYTHING else we build is a sign of retreat! We MUST send a clear message to the Islamofascists that we are not only
throwing defiance in their filthy faces, but that if they
do NOT stop their campaign against the civilised world,
WE WILL KILL THEM ALL!!!
Every American seeing a current picture of the NYC skyline does so with some sense of loss, and that we have been changed for the worse. Imagine the pride we, our successors, and our friends in the international community would feel, looking at the rebuilt towers and KNOWING that America has chosen not to be defeated or disheartened by terror, and that we will continue to build and grow despite their evil actions.
It is disgraceful that nothing has been built on the WTC site yet. No towers, no memorial. We need to rebuild the towers to show our strength and resolve as a country.
I have thought from the beginning that this needed to be done. The only way to show the enemy that we cannot be intimidated is to replace – and quickly – what they tried to steal from us. The proverbial thumbing of the nose, if you will. And to rebuild the towers will be THE memorial to those lost.
The replacement plans at present are wishy washy artistic rubbish.
Simple is better – less is more. Such as the Vietnam War memorial. In this case there is nothing more simple than simply rebuilding the towers as they were (maybe a little taller). The terrorists want to know that they’ve had some effect. An altered skyline symbolizes their efforts. Rebuilding the towers symbolizes America’s ability to defend herself.
Rebuilding shows the enemy that the west and the USA are the only innovators, thinkers and builders in the world that are forward moving. All the enemy can do is blow things up and live in the past. So our best solution is to rebuild the same or better than before and show how great our cilivization is with our without them.
They weren’t a symbol to us Americans before, but they were to others.
Rebuild them and add another floor to both…111 stories.
That’s the symbol, and the message, we should send.

Put them back the way they were.
Capture Bin Laden.
Take him to the new towers.
Tell him he failed.
Then toss him off them.
Rebuilding the towers and making them a bit taller has been an idea of mine almost since 9/11. How about a giant American flag between them or on top?

I truely believe in this petition!
I agree that this is what we need. I pledge my support.
VICTORY is what we have when the twin towers are built 50 floors higher. DO IT.
ABSOLUTELY!!

I only visited the Twin Towers once, and would like to again someday. Please return this staple of America.
More than 7 years later, nothing has been erected. What a national embarassment and shame.
The greatest possible salute to victims.
I still think it isn’t too late to bring back the twins, in original and stronger form. Bring back the WTC twin towers AS THEY WERE.
I only wish that Pataki and Co. would open their minds to this idea. I just don’t feel the Freedom Tower will thrive economically, reinstate the NYC skyline, and send a message to the rest of the world.

Rebuild bigger, better, stronger and show the world that we will get back up when knocked down. We won’t give in to terror.
The freedom tower is a total joke. Rebuild what we all lost.

I think the towers should be rebuild with some improvments like new fire retardants materials.

Never forget what happend that day. Never.

Build it how it needs to be, and how it was. America does not shrink before anyone, nor should its landmarks.
Burque represent! go freedom, go America!

Can’t understand why this wasn’t the plan to begin with.

America deserves a memorial as tall or taller than the Towers.
Get it done!!!
God Bless America
