The Twin Towers are the best choice for rebuilding the WTC. If the Freedom Tower is to be built there then the WTC will loose all of it glory that it had before 9/11, but if we rebuild the twins the wtc could be an American icon again.
I cannot even begin to imagine the smiles on the faces of New Yorkers and the sense of optimism and excitement when crane’s begin lifting iron and new Twin Towers begin to pierce the skyline replacing their fallen predecessors. Sadly our nation has become entrenched in a quagmire of bureaucracy and political correctness. Rather than building great, there are those making excuses why we can’t, shouldn’t or that it’s basically unnecessary. Had that attitude prevailed 70 years ago Hoover Dam or Mount Rushmore would never have gotten built. The late President John F. Kennedy said it best with the following:
“The American, by nature, is optimistic. He is experimental, an inventor and a builder who builds best when called upon to build greatly.”
I was born in NYC, & my family is from Queens & Brooklyn. I grew up in the suburbs of NJ. I know the pride of NY & what it means to be from there. There is NO better way to demonstrate that than to restore the crown jewel of NYC to its former glory
It could not be said better than this petition’s intro: Rebuild a similar pair of towers and repair the emasculated NYC and American skyline. Demonstrate our resolve and sentiment. These buildings will always remain in our hearts.
The only proper response to terrorism is to confront it with lethal force. And the only proper response this great nation to the destruction of our sacred symbols is to rebuild them stronger, better, maybe even a little taller!
Terrorism is a war of symbols. That is why the Towers were targeted and that is why they must be rebuilt. Not at the old height, but higher, only thus can we avoid symbolic capitulation – and we must, ere the terrorists smell blood in the water…
Rebuild the Towers and demonstrate that Americans are capable of rebuilding what we value and defeating those who would come to the US to destroy what we hold dear.

The defiance we felt in the immediate aftermath of September 11, 2001 must be resurrected and re-channeled. Build the Twin Towers again and show every American friend and foe that the course of our destiny will not be altered by the whim of savages.
Build them taller, bolder, and prouder than ever. What a fitting tribute that would be to the victims of 9/11. We did not cower in fear, but stood boldly in the face of our enemy.
I can’t believe that we even HAVE to be signing a petition to do this. And with 111 stories just to say FU#K YOU OSAMA! What the heck ever happened to: ‘we shall rebuild’? didn’t the prez. say that? This is a disgrace we even have to BEG!
I can still remember where I was on that terrible day and how broken I felt. To build anything less of those beautiful towers is a slap in the face – only they can mend America. The freedom tower will onlys be a painful reminder of a bad decision.
Recently I visited NYC and was very surprised to hear that the rebuilding process of the Twin Towers is in a state of limbo. In an almost spiritual sense two towers must go up because of the way they were brought down.

As a former Congressman, I would love to see us stand up by not letting the terrorist keep us down. Rebuild with a few extra floors higher.
