I am so glad to add my name here. I spent half my life in New Jersey and loved the towers, always taking family and friends to the observation area. Even though I now live in Idaho I say: Let’s put them up again!
I was fond of the Twin Towers from day 1 despite never being able to visit them. On 911, I was empty ever since, losing my favorite buildings to Osama (Laud) and his jihad goons! We should stop choosing sides over Israel and Palastine and deny them any trophy to choke off their recruits for this. The Pit in NYC makes me empty and is a trophy for Laud, and if the Twins are not returned, then Laud wins! The Iraq war only helps Laud to win further more support! IN YOUR FACE MR. LAUD! REBUILD!!!
Restore the glory of the Twin Towers and show those who would impose their will upon us that WE, the people, will NEVER crumble. Even when our grand structures are toppled, WE stand tall and defiant.

To not rebuild anew in the likeness of the old, is not a sign of patriotism, but rather of cowardice and apprehension. A proper memorial must pay tribute to the sheer grandeur that once was once a symbol of lower Manhattan, and that requires a construction worthy of positive comparison. For all the people who gave their lives on September 11, how can we possibly equate the Freedom Tower with hope and prosperity for the nation’s future?
The footprints of the fallen towers should be the memorial area, perhaps reflecting pools with a permanent beam of light aimed skyward at night. The opposite squares should used to build new and better towers, same footprint but opposite, and at least the same height as the originals.
My first time visiting New York City was in the summer of 2005. I never had the chance to experience the twin towers in person. I would love to be able to do that someday.

The Towers site does NOT belong to New York or any individual. Congress should take the land via Eminent Domain, and immediately stop all the political nonsense. If the President can make war, he can nationalize that site. Americans want a Belton-Gardner or similar rebuild. Even if the towers were re-built as empty shells, our need for healing would be met. A message needs to be projected by what is put where the Twin Towers once stood. That message, succinctly (and without the angry expletives), should be “Business as usual.” We will not be broken, we will not cower, we will not evade. Nothing says that better than rebuilding the Towers.
I am a little confused as to why there seems to be so much controversy over the design of the new World Trade Center, and why it is taking so long. I like all other Americans became a New Yorker on 9/11. I think we should rebuild the World Trade Center exactly as it once stood. What better way to shove our ability to produce whatever we want in the terrorist’s faces who took them down. Let’s rebuild the WTC as it once was. Tall, proud, and true!!!
In WW II, when the enemy sank our aircraft carriers, we built new ones, and named them after the ones we lost. I don’t know if this was a matter of defiance, or to confuse the enemy, but it was a good idea. Rebuild the Towers.
I was a skyscraper fan since I was a little kid, on 9-11, I was in class when I heard that a plane had crashed into one of the towers, then into the other one. Never in my wildest immagination did I think the towers would collapse. When I saw the towers come down it was as if someone took a dagger and put it through my heart.
We, the people of America need to get together and put pressure on the politicans and Silverstein so they will do what’s right, what we all want.

His story of struggle and ultimately success is one of the most prominent tales in our great American History and Culture. If people know his life, they will want the WTC back. And they would be proud that such a human being ever was born.
