I never got to visit the towers before 9/11. Nothing would give me more satisfaction and pride than to one day make that visit to the rebuilt towers, as they were except maybe higher, say 125 stories each, and look out from the top floor to the east with a smile.
I think it is time to show other countries that just because they knocked us down once we cannot rebuild and prove to them that we are one and we remember but they made us stronger. We need to build it in memorial of all the fallen men and women and show them that we remember them and always will. I think too many people have forgot what happened that day and if we rebuild them it will remind everyone everyday of what did happen.
From day one, I have been of the opinion that the best way to show the terrorists that they have failed is to rebuild the towers as they were, where they were. The floors where the planes hit can be reserved as memorial centers. Any skyline without the twin towers is something terrorist sympathizers can point to as a testament to their success for generations to come. When they see that we can rebuild anything they destroy, they will see the futility of their efforts.
To re-build shows we are not and will not be intimidated. Re-building is the best way to show our faith, resolve and determination. It would make a firm statement of our feelings about and belief in what our country was founded on. Definitely they need to be re-built, but add one floor to serve as the memorial area.
I cannot agree more with this petition. We are only cowering to the enemies by building a memorial, not to say a memorial for the families isn’t needed. We need to rebuild! That’s what America is all about!
I agree that we need to rebuild the twin towers in New York to help with the healing and devistation that was brought to our country on 9-11. By rebuilding the same as the ones that stood tall I believe it would show we stand tall and are not afraid. God Bless America and all of our troops fighting & protecting our country. We will never forget the victims & heros of 9-11 and their families no matter what is built at ground zero.
I think we should re-build the Towers, I say use the 9th & 11th floor to display the names and pictures of everyone who lost their life, those who survived and were involved in anyway. That would be a great way to make sure no one is forgotten.
What can i say… The Twin Towers needs to be rebuilt, its a part of America and Americas history, I live in Australia and even i miss the Twin Towers, Like most of you have stated, building a memorial instead of rebuilding is just saying, hey, you won. Though a memorial is needed to honor those who’s lives were taken without a second thought. We can honor the fallen and rebuild the Twin Towers cant we?
I, as my brothers, both recent retirees of the Port Authority, believe that raising the WTC as it was before exemplies our statement of a true democracy: anything less is a ‘slap in the face’ to all true Americans and a victory for anti-Americans.
All politicians need to stop thinking of ‘compromise and political correctiveness’: they need to remember what our country was established on/for. Our ancestors came here and accepted the American culture. Those entering today must accept it too.
Don’t insult the legacy of the original Twin Towers with this weak, half-baked scheme that is being foisted on New York. Restore the skyline to the way it should have looked all along. Not restoring the Twin Towers shows our enemies that we can be cowed and manipulated and pushed towards defeatism. Don’t do it! Make NYC look like NYC again!
NOTHING less than re-building the towers is acceptable. Personally I believe that one more floor should be added to each tower as an appropriate gesture to those animals who did this. If I were able, I would have the antenna on the one tower actually be 5, with the middle one extended and facing Saudi Arabia. Please don’t allow this feeble tower to be built. It only validates the destruction of the towers in the eyes of those murderers.
The Towers should be rebuilt anything less of the original towers would show that we do indeed fear the terrorists who attacked us lets rebuild the towers and have them with stronger steel.
Change, wasn’t that the terrorists objective? We allow them to achieve that goal, by putting a different structure in one of America’s most symbolic places. Put back the original towers with a little more height, updated security structure and a little ole’ red/white/blue colors clearly seen from afar. There are many who have paid a hard price, even today, for true American principles. When you get kicked off the horse and should get right back on, no one said anything about changing the horse.
I visited the Towers twice. Once in ’97 and again in late August 2001. In August I attended a free concert held at he WTC and listened to the great music of John Gorka. The concert was held at the base of the North Tower and I will never forget that day. Rebuilding would be a real jab in the eye of people who dislike the United States of America. And now that they are gone, people really miss them.
At least I got the chance to get the view from the top for Christmas back in 1997.
To not rebuild the Towers only shows that we lost the “war on terror” on the morning of September 11, 2001. Those Towers were America, that’s why they were the targets of the attack. The money spent to allow more Americans to die in Iraq can better be spent on newer, stronger, prouder Towers. America’s strength is in her industry, rebuilding the Towers demonstrates that strength.
It would be an extremely wise political statement to the terrorists and the world to rebuild the twin towers. During World War II, the USS Yorktown was rebuilt in 4 DAYS! It was estimated that the rebuild would take 2 months, but thanks to the will of America, it was ready to fight the Japanese at the very next battle. It’s time for us to put those towers back in the air and show them we have only been shaken, but NOT defeated.
Rebuild. The Twin Towers were icons! They symbolized everything that was great about America.
The ‘Freedom Tower’ and surrounding buildings are pure abominations. They will appear as nonharmonious shattered silhouettes on the NYC skyline and are in stark hideous contrast to the twin pillars every American and foreigner alike admired and loved.
Ah, to take that ride up the 107 floors to the Top of the World again…feel the wind in my face…
Building ANYTHING else, tells the terrorists that THEY can make changes here.
Could have been finished by now…

Yes, I think we should rebuild.
build them back!

Yes, rebuild them even taller. They will be the memorial.

Rebuild the Towers as they were. It would be a stunning slap in the face to all those who planned and cheered their destruction.
Why is is taking so long anyway, might as well build the originals.
This is the best idea I have seen. The original but better twin towers should be rebuilt as they were. Wonderful idea!
Please rebuild the Twin Towers. Doing anything less would leave a permanent scar on the face of New York and diminish a legendary city.
Yes, Rebuilding the Towers is the best way to show that we are together as a Nation and as strong as ever!
To rebuild is the American way!
To re-build shows we are not and will not be intimidated. Re-building is the best way to show our faith, resolve and determination. GOD BLESS AMERICA and our beloved TWIN TOWERS!
We need them back. Period.

Rebuilt 1′ higher and show them we still stand tall.
They need to be replaced with a more modern ,taller and stronger set of twin towers. and it needs to happen now. not years from now.

My first visit to NY was after 9/11 to visit MW, so I never had the privilage to see the city complete. Make New York New York again!

I wholeheartedly agree with rebuilding the Twin Towers. Always have and always will.
The Towers should be rebuilt anything less of the original towers would show that we do indeed fear the terrorists who attacked us lets rebuild the towers and have them with stronger steel.
I think it would be a great thing to rebuild them, it will definitly show outsiders our strength!

New York just isn’t the same without the twins. Build back the towers!! Make New York whole once again!!!!!

Rebuild America. Rebuild the Pride. Rebuild the Twins.

Bigger & better (if that’s possible?)
