We should not let the terrorists win by depriving us of one of our most beautiful landmarks in this country, the Twin Towers. I believe we should rebuild the twin towers … one foot taller. Although the rendering of the Freedom Tower seems to be nice, it is clearly a duplicate of the Statue of Liberty which is already there! So it doesn’t make sense to me to make the new tower look exactly like a statue that stands right in front of the tower.
The structural design integrity of the recently rebuilt WTC #7 could be incorporated in the rebuilding of Twin Towers with identical outward appearance to the originals. These design features would make the new towers nearly impossible to “pancake”.
I just saw your site, and am glad that Im not the only one that thinks the towers should be put back just as they were. There is plenty of room in the 16 empty acres for a memorial. What better memorial could there be than to show that we will not let them leave a permanant scar. Build them again!!!
PLEASE rebuild the towers. They were not pretty, I used to live in NYC and I think they were kind of ugly…but they were OURS, and they were NYC. Simply put, put them back, and even bigger and we win. Do ANYTHING else, and they have won!

We need a thorough cleaning out of the politicians and power brokers throughout the country and replace them with soccer moms, auto mechanics, truck drivers and grocery clerks. Building a memorial is surely the best way to admit DEFEAT! A memorial tells Americas enemies that we can be beat, that they have won and that we live in fear of them. Rebuilding the Twin Towers will send the message that America cannot be intimidated. What greater tribute to those innocent victims of 9/11 then to rebuild the Twin Towers. Give a voice to those victims, rebuild The Twin Towers and tell the cowardly, radical, religous extremists and the world that WE WILL NOT BE BEAT!

What an amazing story it would be to tell my children and grandchildren, as we look up at the new buildings, the story of how the Twin Towers had once collapsed. Let’s not make the World Trade Center a thing of the past. I think that rebuilding is a great idea.
Rebuilding the Towers the way they were would be the best way of honoring everyone who was affected by the original towers’ destruction. The other designs have nothing to do with the original look of the New York skyline. I was born in Manhattan, grew up looking at and visiting the towers and I want them back-perhaps a floor higher than they were. Since we the taxpayers will be footing most of the 10-20 Billion it will cost, we should have some say in the matter.
Rebuilding the towers would be the ultimate symbol of American resolve. We need to show strength, no fear. Just as we need to show strength and no fear in our fight with radical islam. They started this, we will finish it!
Although I no longer live in NY I have strong feelings about this; please do not use this opportunity for financial gain and make the most of the space that has been created – just rebuild what we lost, preferably taller!

I am a proud, educated American who is deeply saddened and upset that we are not rebuilding the Twin Towers as they once stood. 1.) I think the greatest way to memorialize the victims of 9/11 would be to restore the towers and the previous NYC skyline. 2.) When you get hit you stand up again, to restore America’s glory we must rebuild the towers as they were before.

I traveled to NYC for the first time last March. What a wonderful city. As we were approaching the Newark airport I was struck by the ummistakeable gap in the skyline of lower Manhattan. We need these symbols of national pride restored. Allowing the animals that did this to change America’s skyline would be a crime.
