There simply is no other fitting response to 9/11 than to rebuild the Twin Towers. Anything else will be viewed by most Americans and the world as capitulation to the terrorists, and all who oppose freedom. If I had been one to perish in the attack, the only memorial that would truly honor my death would be to rebuild the towers in defiance of the terrorists.
The only thing standing in the way is our bankrupt government, politicians and bureaucrats!
What a reasonable, logical, honest and architecturally fitting concept. I’m not from NYC, but those times I had travelled there prior to 9/11, The Towers were always that bit of welcome confirmation for those visitors that are navigationally challenged. I have a vast catalog of ‘mental jpegs’ with The Towers commanding prominence in many frames. They have been missed.

I could think of no better way to honor the memory of the fallen and the best of the spirit of the United States than to return the towers to New York.
This is the only solution that has felt right from the very beginning. We must reclaim what was taken from us that awful day. Rebuild the towers better and stronger and the whole world will know that NYC and the USA are still strong and courageous.
I grew up in NY and visited the Twin Towers several times, even danced and had dinner there. It was heart wrenching to see them come down on 9-11. Don’t allow the enemies to win, please rebuild the towers.
My son lives 1 mile north of the towers and was getting into a cab that morning to go to work in the Chrysler building. Noticed a plane way too low and proceeded to work. Word soon came that morning all was well with him and his (now) wife via blackberry message to my daughter in Boston.
Windows of the World was one of the first places he took me to show his town. Above the clouds!

A long time ago, I saw the fourth of July fireworks from the World Trade Center. It’s something I’ll never forget. I was in the city this past fourth of July and it’s just not the same without the twin towers dominating the skyline. Bringing the towers back would be the best tribute to all those who lost their lives on 9/11.

In 1959, the United States was still 2 years away from putting a man in space. A single decade later, two of our citizens stood on the surface of another world.
Like the Towers themselves, Americans used to be a people who challenged the sky. If we still are, the Towers must be rebuilt. Better. And 9 feet 11 inches taller than before.
By not rebuilding the Twin Towers, the United States is telegraphing to the Muslim World (and other enemies of US power) that it is weak underneath its facade of being a superpower, that it can be bullied and otherwise blackmailed into submitting. Americans should have realized by now that the New York City skyline has been a potent symbol of American power and the longer it stays damaged by the events of 9-11 the weaker it will appear to its enemies and in the minds of its own citizenry.
The twin towers of the World Trade Center were more than just buildings. They were proof of New York’s belief in itself. Built at a time when New York’s future seemed uncertain, the towers restored confidence and helped bring a halt to the decline of lower Manhattan. Brash, glitzy, and grand, they quickly became symbols of New York. I believe the same thing can happen again if they are rebuilt. I pray they are. Good Luck Guys!

Why not help the healing by putting them back? Also, what better way to say “f**k you” to the people who wish to see America destroyed? It is understood by most of us that the so called freedom tower will NOT represent our nation as a whole and that the only way to do so properly is to build the towers taller and stronger! A quote from George Washington: “…it is of infinite moment that you should properly estimate the immense value of your national Union to your collective and individual happiness….indignantly frowning upon the first dawning of every attempt to alienate any portion of our Country from the rest, or to enfeeble the sacred ties which now link together the various parts.

Every time I see a movie with scenes of the twin towers and every time I see a picture of New York post the destruction of the twin towers, I am reminded at what is missing in the New York skyline. The towers need to be rebuilt to help heal this nation. Anything else will only serve as a reminder of what’s missing.

When I thought of the saying “United We Stand, Divided We Fall,” the Twin Towers came into my mind. Two towers standing for one purpose, yet they were divided. I never got to see them in person, and these could be so much sturdier and stronger than the glass sculpture (that’s what it looks like) that they call Freedom Tower. By not rebuilding those two towers, in my opinion, that saying above has no symbol.
I really would enjoy seeing the Lower Manhattan skyline restored with the original two towers that everyone remembers. It shows a sign of courage and bravery that we all made it through the years and will continue to remember all those that risked their lives in saving others.
Silverstein should sue those bastards for holding his property in limbo. Build the Twin Towers and hang the politicians in the square.
