Our 8th year anniversary is almost here and my heart is still broken and longs to see the towers raised to their feet again so the rest of our country can get back up as well. God Bless our great country.
Lower Manhattan doesn’t look right, and surely will not with some swooping fantasy that doesn’t even dare house residents in its upper floors. My family used the photograph of us on the outside observation deck of the South Tower in February 2001 for our Christmas card as we’d always planned. I went back for the light sculptures. I also saw the Pile when a cousin was married at St. Paul’s in December. Lord have mercy.
I was just looking at the design of the new rebuilt Twin Towers and like it much better than what they are building right now. It makes no sense building something totally different at the ground zero site. I think most Americans prefer to see stronger rebuilt Twin Towers added back to the New York City skyline. I found this website of the new redesigned Twin Towers 2 and its really a cool looking building which I don’t understand why they are building a freedom Tower that no one wants.
PUT THEM BACK!!! FILL THE VOID!!! The current proposed structures make NYC look like Disneyland… which NY AIN’T!!! They punctuated the City and said “HERE WE ARE! HERE IS NEW YORK!” like NO other structure EVER will. Consider all the PRIOR PROPER PLANNING that already went into the Twins, as well as all the historical innovation that was derived from their construction…
P L E A S E …. PUT THEM BACK ! ! !
Put back what was once there. I don’t live in New York but the skyline definitely has a void without the twin towers. The freedom tower is a dumb looking building.
Put them back. Even though we cannot replace the losses and families we can provide a beautiful memorial dedicated to those who died and some closure to victims who still know what it was like to be there or to know that their family members died on the site.
I can add nothing more than what has already been said in so many ways: Put the towers back, now! What better way to show the attackers that they cannot win, then to watch the towers rise again, better, taller, stronger, like the future of America.
I always wanted to visit New York City…why? The Twin Towers. After them evil forces destroyed them and murdered all those souls, my spirit cried out and my wishes waned. If the towers were rebuilt, which they should be, in the way that the scientists say they should have been infrastructurally speaking, they would sustain anything those forces would throw at them! I would also be one of the billions of visitors on grand re-opening of the rebirth of ‘our twin Phoenixes’!
The very best way slap terrorism in the face is to re-build the twin towers. The new towers should look like the old ones, but even taller and more modern. Two gigantic Americvan flages shoould top each tower, with “we will never forget” written on the lower part of each flag.
Sincerely, and with the highest respect,
Chris Skalski

I am a fireman from Northern Virginia and I am a strong supporter of rebuilding the Twin Towers to show the world that no matter what they do or think we are strong. Also so that the lives that were MURDERED eight years ago today will not have been lost in vain. I lost 343 brothers that day and I would hate to think they paid the ultimate sacrifice, and then for america to back down and not rebuild a great symbol of this country.
I cannot believe that it has been 8 years and still no rebuilding has even started.
It is a national disgrace that politics has gotten in the way of rebuilding the twin towers.
The time is now.
PLEASE build the Twin Towers in the exact same way (with safety improvements of course).
We need to tell the terrorists “In your face buddy! No one messes with the USA!”
WTC is a historical Manument. Not just a building. It must be rebuilt to honor the city. ASK the voice of people. It is symbol of NY and USA. It must be honored by rebuilding the towers to “RESURRECT the SPIRIT within.”
I was at the WTC just a few months before the attack.I’ve visited NYC many times since, but I still can’t bring myself to visit Ground Zero. I feel that rebuilding the towers would be the most fitting memorial, and an act of defiance to the people that hurt us, and those who would like to in the future.
I questioned the rebuilding of “The Towers”. I felt like we would be asking for trouble, asking for another strike. I feared for the lives of others in another assault. “Fear” is exactly what terror is about. I am sure the people who lived through “Pearl Harbor” had similar, if not worse thoughts. Still they moved forward & rebuilt. REBUILD THE TOWERS!!
I was in New York on September 8th through the 10th 2001 and always wanted to go to the World Trade Center. On the way home September 10th 2001 I looked back and said next time we come Im going to see the WTC. The next day they were gone. I don’t feel that the “Freedom Tower” is a sutiable replacement. We need to have an original design like the originals. I truly hope that this disign will be the one I go to see.
I think that the towers should be reconstucted as they were. Instead of 200 ft square make the 300 ft. And use all of the latest technology to make them as safe as possible. If the desire is to make them taller then so be it. It was a very sad day on 9-11 and my soul goes out to those who passed away on that day. I am from Arizona but I will never never forget what happened.
Rebuild the towers! We do not want the “freedom tower”. We want the original towers back so New York can look normal again. We have truly let Osama Bin Laden win if we don’t rebuild and move on.
8 years what has happened to us! This is the U.S.A ! WE rebuild, we overcome, we do not argue and drag our feet and get nothing done.. We must make our voices heard! In President Bush’s words the terrorists will hear from all of us soon. That is our victory!! Rebuild Our Towers!!
The Freedom Tower is ugly not as big and doesnt show the iconic symbol of America and New York. The Twin Towers fit in and were huge they proved American strength and if we rebuild we will send a message saying: Terrorist you can destroy our buildings, we will mourn, but we will rebuild
Penn & Teller’ B.S. (on Showtime) dedicated one of their episodes to the rebuilding of the twin towers, it was a good episode and it made me angry that the buearacrats can’t get ANYTHING done.
The new towers could be called the “Freedom Towers”, but I think naming them the “Phoenix Towers” would also be appropriate; they would have literally risen from the ashes.
Also: I like the idea of rebuilding the Towers exactly as they were (though maybe a little taller!). I believe that to do anything else would say to the terrorists: “You’ve given us the opportunity to create and build something different, something new.” I believe the first Towers are still something NEW.
I’m only 17 and I miss those two towers.

The New York skyline simply will not be complete until the Twin Towers are rebuilt floor for floor as tall as they were before the attack.
Lets Get it Done.
Can not think of a better way to show them we are not afraid, re-build those beautiful towers!!!
Rebuild the towers.
REBUILD! These was an important historical site and we need them back.

Go for it! 🙂
From the second they fell I’ve wanted them rebuilt the way the were. This is what we need. This is what we deserve. The Freedom Tower makes no sense.
