  1. The people in those buildings were an irreplaceable fixture of humanity. They were people going to work. In a wonderful structure that was a beacon of promise rising to the sky. I cannot begin to tell you how much I oppose this new structure with unwelcoming hollow doors surrounded by cold concrete. I don’t want to be reminded of the ugliness, I don’t want to be reminded of the shuttering uncomfortable changes that have followed. These memories will not help me, they won’t help the city of New York, and they won’t help the families. No to the death shrine, we need to get back to work.

  2. Let there be no memorial or shrine to celebrate Bin Laden’s death, but let us have our twin towers rebuilt to remember our victory and FREEDOM for democracy.

  3. Now that Osama Bin Laden is dead and gone, we can still get the Twin Towers rebuilt but stronger and better and with a good memorial. The Twin Towers is our only way to healing and a hope of a better future for our next generation. Don’t let the terrorists change our skyline and ruin a skyline that we were all familiar with before 9/11. Let us build back those icons but stronger and better. The Twin Towers need to be rebuilt.

  4. I think it’s a wonderfull comforting idea. I think its definitely the best thing america can do in regards to the case. It brings back america its hope pride and honor. It would be the best american thing to do. An act that will say we are strong we can stand no matter what. I’d love with my whole heart that the twin towers be rebuilt.

  5. I think re-building them is the most important thing we can do. It will also show, al qaeda did NOT defeat us, we can stand right back up.
–These new Freedom Towers and the other 6, you’d be thinking, WHO is in charge of our country?? I mean seriously, that’s saying we don’t care about America we got a new one and try and take down this one.

    >:( That’s not my country.

  6. If we do anything other then rebuilding the towers then Osama won. If someone burns your house down, your REBUILD IT. You don’t put a commemorative plaque on the ashes.

  7. People don’t just ignore the public and think they will get away with it please rebuild these Camus icons. Now that bin Ladin is dead now is the perfect opportunity to rebuild the lost towers. IT’S NOT TOO LATE!

  8. Rebuild the towers taller than ever. As an American, it’s an embarrassment that it’s going to be 10 years since the attack this September and they aren’t rebuilt yet. United we all stand as one, we will never forget what these subhuman inbreds have done, but they will never win, we will reign supreme as they are confined to their caves living in squalid conditions. God Bless America!

  9. I agree that the only way to show the evil terrorists that we can not be swayed in out freedoms and our country is to rebuild the twin towers. Maybe higher, or bigger. Certainly test the steel and materials so that no amount of the hottest fire could bring them down. Replacing 2 towers of that size with one the same size as tower 1 to me is kinda like an admitting of “yeah you got us once”. How about we either place bricks with all the names of the fallen in the foundation or somehow carve their names into the foundation.

  10. As a life-long resident of Oklahoma City, I too live in a city that experienced the horrors of terrorism. National pride dictates that when we get knocked down we get up again. REBUILD THE TOWERS! It’s the only solution that doesn’t reek of catering to financial interests. It’s the only solution that gives the metaphorical finger to those who would attempt to destroy us. It’s the only solution capable of representing the best that NYC and America have to offer!

  11. I’m young, not too old. But I understand why the World Trade Center has to be rebuilt, as stated before, I’m sure, every time the Terrorists look at America, 11 years after the devastating attack, and still see a mourning, powerful country, brought to its knees by a single terrorist event, It’s very sad, the lives unforgettably changed, the lives lost. But America has to show the terrorists that America, in the face of disastrous events, will still stand strong, and will not waver, even in the face of such a tragedy.

  12. I love the WTC twin towers. They made America great. Unlike a lot of people, I love the idea of the freedom tower. It’s what America is all about. It even looks great as it’s being built. What I can’t stand are the structures they’re calling WTC 2 and 3. Talk about awful! You don’t even have the funding to build them past ground level. SO why not do all Americans and all the victoms of 9/11 a favor. Scrap them and rebuild the twin towers, bigger and better than ever on the locations of WTC 2 and 3. Why insult everyone when you don’t even have the money to build these disgraceful buildings that don’t even look like they belong in NYC. I say build the new towers 1776 feet from ground to roof. Bring back the twin towers and let freedom

  13. What? They are building a new tower? It is going to be just the one? It is going to be 1,776 feet tall?…

This new building has nobody excited. It’s not news. No one’s talking about it. No one seems to care. We need something more bold. We need two towers. Give us two Freedom Towers, I don’t care, but bring us back our towers. The new Freedom Tower will I’m sure be great, and most of us will eventually appreciate it, but we’ll miss our two towers we could have had back!

  16. I am an American Citizen who stands behind all people for the rebuilding of the Twin Towers. They should be rebuilt not only in tribute to the victims on 9/11 but as well to the fallen soldiers who fought in retalliation for the attack on the american people and its land. The Twin Towers will stand stronger, taller, and will return the pride of accomplishment to the american people and the New York beloved skyline back to New York. It’s time for New York to have what they want for once and return those Twin Towers back to their home. It would be a well deserved and long time coming slap in the terrorists faces if this can be accomplished. Those new buildings are pathetic and not to mention overpriced and behind schedule. The Twin Towers wo

  17. I think to rebuild the Towers would be a great idea. The Twin Towers reconstructed will show terrorists that they may be able to destroy America’s buildings, but they cannot destroy America, its freedom, or its hope for the future. Let them know, WE ARE PROUD TO BE AMERICANS!!!

  18. Always loved the look of the twin towers and it hurts every time I look at the New York City skyline and don’t see them. I believe there could even be a compromise here, still build the freedom tower, but also bring the towers back. I truly hope this pulls through cause the Twin Towers made New York City complete.

  19. I WOULD LOVE TO SEE THE TWIN TOWERS IN THE SKYLINE OF NEW YORK AGAIN.

WHEN I WAS IN BERLIN YEARS AGO AT THE JEWISH MUSEUM DESIGNED BY DANIEL LIBESKIND, I WAS SO EXCITED AT THE MODEL I SAW EXHIBITED OF HIS AWARD WINNING VISION OF HIS NEW BUILDING AT THE NEW WORLD TRADE CENTER. IT WAS SLEEK AND ASCENDANT AND I FELT GOOD ABOUT THAT.
THEN ALL THIS POLITICAL PARALYSIS TOOK PLACE WITH THAT OTHER ARCHITECT.
WHAT IS BEING BUILT THERE NOW IS BULKY,GROSS AND A LOOK TO IT THAT SITS LIKE A LUMP.

GIVE ME BACK THE TWIN TOWERS NOW!!!

  20. We are American, we should never let One World Trade Center be built like this. We never admit defeat to terrorists, why alter the NYC skyline? Osama bin Laden is laughing at the bottom of the ocean because of the Fear Tower. It is not right to build it, it is placing the memories of the people who died there, and the Twin Towers in the back of the closet. And it isn’t fair to future generations to be denied the chance to see the beautiful towers that stood there in person.

  22. Is it all over for the Twin Towers Alliance? People are saying that the Freedom Tower is 60 stories high right now. It seems like there is no hope in seeing the Twin Towers rise again. The Twin Towers Alliance have failed and we have failed as a nation.

TTA Note: We read the same newspapers that everybody else reads — and we have reasons for thinking that there is indeed hope of seeing the Twin Towers rise again on those sixteen acres. See our 6/8/11 Bulletin for more information.

  23. What hope is there in getting the Twin Towers back in the skyline? The Freedom Tower is 60 feet high right now. The 9/11 memorial museum is scheduled to be open on the 10th anniversary of the attacks of 9/11. I wish that they could rebuild the Twin Towers but it looks like its too late. We might as well just give up on the Twin Towers.

TTA Note: There is no conflict between the memorial and the Twin Towers and the sooner they cap the Freedom Tower the better “skyline element” it will be. It is not a world-class building.

  25. According to the wikepedia page the Freedom Tower is 69 stories tall. How are we going to get the Twin Towers back? There is no hope for the Twin Towers.

  26. When the twin towers were in new york, remember gas prices? Wow that was incredible everything was so cheap. Want the twin towers back, do something about it barack obama!!!! The freedom tower? That is stupid! Only one tower our nation won’t be represented the way it was. Rebuild the twin towers and we will all be happy and live better.

  27. I hope that they cap the Freedom Tower so that we can build the Twin Towers. I really miss the outdoor observation deck that was on the South Tower. That was one of the best parts of the Twin Towers. That outdoor observation deck. I also want to go to the famous Windows On The World restaurant in the North Tower. I hear that the Windows On The World was one of the most popular restaurants in the United States. For this reason we need to rebuild the Twin Towers.

  28. I’m tired of seeing comments… Why don’t we just march and protest or do something! At this rate the twin towers will never be built!

TTA Note: There were two comments left after this one that were clearly, from the wording and similar email addresses, the work of the same individual. Those who sign the petition are agreeing with its statement. It is not a bulletin board. But we will post a bulletin over the weekend giving some reasons why the Twin Towers Alliance has not and for the foreseeable future will not take part in a protest at Ground Zero.

  29. Why is it that I see negative comments about why the Twin Towers can’t be rebuilt? The Twin Towers can go right beside the memorial and right beside the Freedom Tower. There is still hope for the Twin Towers. All its going to take is leadership.

  30. I want the twin towers back as well, because they were an important landmark for the great city of New York. The twin towers stood for what New York City stands for, Freedom and economic power. Because, anyone who thinks about New York City in the world thinks immediately about the Beautiful and majestic twin towers. That’s why it is important to build them back, because that will show our determination and will power we have and that we are not afraid for the fact that we don’t let the terrorists and the people who are against America win, by not rebuilding them.

  31. I looked at ground zero and saw the mess that they are now building. I was really hoping to see new and safer Twin Towers at ground zero. I just found out that Mayor Bloomberg said that the outdoor observation deck that was on the South Tower’s roof will be missed by many New Yorkers. The outdoor observation deck on the Twin Towers was considered the most popular tourist site in New York City. If we don’t rebuild the Twin Towers, the terrorists win and we as Americans lose.

  32. I am only 11 years old, the only thing I remembered was playing with my parents and later watching fire coming out of the WTC towers. I would love the twin towers to be rebuilt so I can see at least what they looked like. I have a good feeling we will have our peaceful towers back together and us as Americans can show the world that we won’t get held back, we will show them we will continue and recover from that September day. I will live sad and angry if we don’t get our towers restored and get a Freedom Tower, so please US government, support the WTC plaza! I hope I’ll get to see the new World Trade Center towers in person. NO FREEDOM TOWER! I have a good feeling we’ll have our towers back cause America stands faithfully, strong, and free.

  33. I remember visiting the Twin Towers when I was a little boy back in 1995 when I was living in New York City. I remember going to the outdoor observation deck of the South Tower and it was breath taking seeing the view of New York City. That is what made me fall in love with the Twin Towers. For some reason the Twin Towers are far different from any skyscraper that I have ever known. There is something about the Twin Towers that make them so different from other skyscrapers. I want the Twin Towers to be rebuilt. Rebuild the Twin Towers.

  34. I THINK THE WORLD TRADE CENTER (TWIN TOWERS) SHOULD BE REBUILT EXACTLY LIKE THE ORIGINALS. BECAUSE WHEN THE ORIGINALS WENT DOWN I NEVER HAD THE CHANCE TO VISIT THEM WHEN THEY WAS AROUND, BUT WHEN THEY DO GET REBUILT I WILL VISIT THEM. THE ONE HERE IN DENVER, COLORADO IS JUST AS SPECIAL LIKE THE ONES IN NEW YORK AND THEY WAS KING OF KINGS. ALL HAIL KING OF KINGS. THAT IS WHY I TREASURE THE LITTLE KEY PENDANT THE KEY BANK IN THERE GAVE TO ME AND THAT IS VERY SACRED AND LIKE THE WORLD TRADE CENTER IT TOO WAS VERY SACRED AND STILL IS THIS VERY DAY. GOD BLESS YOU ALL AND GOD BLESS THE WORLD TRADE CENTERS ALL OVER.

TTA Note: Many people don’t know that the man who built the Twin Towers formed the World Trade Centers Association (WTCA) back in 1970 to promote “Peace and Stability Through Trade.” There are over 300 World Trade Centers around the globe today.

  36. I love skyscrapers, especially the Twin Towers. I want them rebuilt badly, i f*cking hate the “Freedom Tower”. More like Orogami Sh*t Tower, and the other 4 towers are sh*t. Come on, its we the people what we want, NOT THE GOVERNMENT. even Obama has to agree with us. The Twin Towers II would bring back how awesome they looked in the sky. You could see them all over New York. Building the freedom tower is like saying, “ok al-qaeda you win, we give up”. OH HEEEELLLLLLLL NO, none of us want that. If we build the Twin Towers II, we show that al-qaeida has failed, and that will stand for what’s right. Now with Bin Laden dead, i assure you that the Twin Towers II will be standing for long time. SO PLEASE REBULD THEM
