I personally won’t be visiting Lower Manhattan again because it doesn’t make any sense to go and look at 2 footprints with water running it where the twin towers stood. The attacks of 9/11 still haunts me to this day and the absence of the twin towers is very depressing and hard to deal with. If the freedom tower is being built than I would rather not travel to NYC again.
The Freedom Tower is 80 stories now we might just wanna forget about it. I mean I won’t but it’s absurd that the Twins are not being built. The New Twin Towers would have been 115 stories this time and I would have loved to see them again. My son is obsessed with the Twin Towers and would love them back in Manhattan and tears up every time he hears they’re not being built.
i have read many comments from everyone regarding the rebuilding of the twin towers. I AGREE, REBUILD THE TWIN TOWERS! it would help the american soul to once again feel whole. NY needs to listen to all these people that lost loved ones…..their heart still grieves with pain, this would help them to feel like they take a stand against those horrible men that brought them down. their american pride would stand taller than ever before….this would help bring healing to those wounded hearts…..NY, please rebuild the TWIN TOWERS….make them stronger, bigger, and taller….with the biggest American Flag that has ever been made to fly high and free on both the TWIN TOWERS, telling everyone against AMERICA…we stand proud! with honor! with li
1 World Trade Center, and the memorial(s) are very nice and beautiful lasting tributes, but by all means not all that is needed. What is needed is to kick sand in the face of adversity, to say we will never forget, we will never surrender! To say those things, to show the world and ourselves that we mean business, we need new Twin Towers. Twins of the originals to be sure, but taller, and better in every way. It’s like the flag flying at McHenry that inspired the Star Spangled Banner. Our flag was still there, in your face you cowards!
i think the twin towers should be rebuilt because they were beautiful i was only 2 years old when 9 11 happened but now that i am older i realize that 9 11 was very tragic but now that bin laden is dead we could become a great country again the twin towers were one of the symbols of new york a symbol that nobody will ever forget that is just my opinion in conclusion the twin towers SHOULD be rebuilt

It makes me sad to know that the terrorists “win” with the current solution. Not rebuilding is a huge huge mistake. Unfortunately slimy politics gets in the way of what is RIGHT and should be done!
My daughter was 2 when 9/11 happened. Now at age 12 she’s just beginning to learn about that fateful day. She deserves to see NYC the way it was, as does every other child — with the twin towers in their rightful place as part of the skyline. The children of those who died that day deserve to have the towers back as a monument to their parents. Those who lost loved ones should look at those towers and be proud of their parents/family members who died. They were everyday ordinary people who were just working a normal day and who did not deserve to or think they would die that day. We need to honor them and tell the terrorists of the world that they have not won anything. We are still strong. We are America. We will not be beaten.
I was 9 when I took my first trip to NYC. Coming from Dallas I was greatly impressed by the sights and sounds of Manhattan. Going up to the World Trade was just the icing on the cake and I feel lucky I was able to visit them.
STOP!! STOP!! STOP!! Rebuild the Twin Towers! Show the world that we as Americans are strong and resilient! Rebuild them Stronger and Larger!! To do anything less is WEAK and POINTLESS!!
I don’t care if you have to make some changes I just want them rebuilt they are a part of the American people so don’t let them morons win we are strong people so lets show and lets do it for all the people that were killed on the planes and in the towers they would want us to rebuild dedicate it to the victims that would be great
The Twin Towers were an American Icon as much as the Statue of Liberty, the Capitol or Chevrolet. New York isn’t New York without them, so please rebuild them instead of that monstrosity you are putting up.
10 Years ago on 9/11/2001, I was 13 and was in 7th grade as I watched the Twin Towers fall to the ground. And what it brought in the past decade was not only a loss of our freedom and liberties but a loss of life, and a loss of humanity. Its hard to believe how quick 10 years have gone by and we still have not rebuilt what evil has taken from us. Ten years later we are still hurting. I do believe that now more than ever, we still have the opportunity to really change course of this country and return American principle back to its core by us guiding the law. Those who perished 10 years ago cannot come back. But what we can do is celebrate life again! Rebuild the twin towers 2012! And with that restore our respect of American History to
The Twin Towers need to be rebuilt. New York is not the same without them. They were a symbol of America which we deserve to have back. The victims of 9/ll should have a memorial but not where the Twin Towers should be. Plus do we really want to show the terrorists they won by building a whole new structure. Hell No!!! We need to rebuild the Twin Towers so we can say we won.
My last comment i had made a few years ago really meant somthing to me because i belive and “Still Do” that we can put what makes America look like America again,And to rebuild the WTC taller, stronger, safer than they ever where before the families of the victims the rescuers who went through hell and back,As well as the american public almost after 9/11 WANTED the their twins back i most certainly did,Not because it looks normal but because its the Right thing to do,Ten years ago i sat at my desk on my second day of my first year of the 6th grade over 2,000 miles away on the west coast watching TV in sheer horror and sadness,That is why i belive the only thing that will bring proper closure to the families and victims is to rebuild what M
SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 SHATTERED THE AMERICAN HEARTS AND MADE US ALL SCARED OF WHAT ELSE COULD HAPPEN TO OUR NATION, BUT WE DON’T GO DOWN EASILY. I BELIEVE THEY SHOULD REBUILD THE TWIN TOWERS AGAIN, AND THAT IT’S NOT A DISRESPECT TO THOSE WHO DIED ON 9/11 AS MANY SAY, BUT IF WE REBUILD THEM STRONGER, AND TALLER THAN EVER IT WILL PUT THOSE PEOPLE WHO ARE STILL OUT THERE INVOLVED IN THE ATTACK TO SHAME. REBUILDING THEM WILL NOT MAKE IT AS IF IT NEVER HAPPENED BUT AS TO SAY, YOU DESTROYED US ONCE BUT WE’RE BACK BETTER THAN EVER. YOU CANNOT BRING US DOWN AGAIN. WE ARE AMERICA. WE FALL BUT COME BACK WITH A PUNCH!
I am from Georgia and have always wanted to visit NY and go to the top of the Twin Towers. I strongly wish that they would rebuild them not just as they were, but build them taller than the Sears Tower in Chicago. The terrorist felt like they took some of our freedom away by tearing the towers down. Please rebuild them and show the terrorists that the freedom of this nation will NEVER fall.
Why weren’t the Twin Towers designated a historic landmark before 9-11? This would mean that if they were destroyed, they would have to be rebuilt.
TTA Note: We once asked the New York City Landmark Preservation Commission if the Twin Towers would have had to be rebuilt if they had official landmark status and were told they would not. But it is a New York City agency, which says it all… Tower 1 achieved the 30-year threshhold in 2000 and Tower 2 in July of 2001. They weren’t officially opened until 1973, but that is all irrelevant since they were the epitome of a de facto landmark. Thank you for bringing the matter up. It gives us some ideas…
I have been to new york a lot. I loved seeing the twin towers way before getting to them. They were beautiful. We, meaning this country, went to war for the people those idiots hurt and killed and those buildings they destroyed. We won that war. But if we do not rebuild those building we are showing them we lost. I say build the twin towers and make them a little taller just to show them they cannot win against us. Whoever is stopping this from happening please don’t make us lose this half of the war.
I believe that the Twin Towers should be built, not only because they are a symbol of America, but also they mean so much for the people of New York and the people of America. We need to show that if you destroy something dear and precious to us we will rebuild it, bigger and stronger. The terrorists tried to take those towers away from us, we must show them that those towers will never be gone, they will be there for ever.
I came from the dominican republic when I was 10 years old. At 11 I visited the towers for the first time, coming from a tropical island I had never seen such high buildings. I like so many New Yorkers ( yes I resided in NYC -Washington Heights from 1981-2003)am saddened and disappointed with the powers that decided that one tower is good enough, that it would be an insult to those that in any manner of way affected by this tragedy, when in effect we as a whole have been and forever will be affected by this horrendous act of violence. I will never be happy with the plans that are in place now! and since this is all I can do to voice my opinion here it goes: The towers were a symbol to all NYers and we would be proud to have them on our land again!
We are Americans, we are fearless, if terrorists declare war in our nation upon our buildings, we go to their land and they hear from us, and we build our buildings back better and stronger. We are strong and relentless people. To build the towers back how they were but better will show them who we are. Please, please, let’s not just build three random buildings that don’t even look good. That will be a mistake.
(I know I’ve signed this three times already, but I just support the Twin Towers that much.)
The Twin Towers should be rebuilt just as they were, only stronger, and one floor taller. And about that hunk of junk known as the Freedom Tower- instead of demolishing it to the ground, they could simply take it apart, piece by piece. And that metal from the Freedom Tower could be used to build the next Twin Towers. If we don’t reconstruct them, the terrorists will have reached their goal in changing our skyline forever. Even if the new site gets completed, it can still be done- by disassembling the new WTC 1,2,3, and 4 and use the materials to build the Twin Towers II. And that idea alone proves that a new Twin Towers is never, NEVER too late!
TTA Note: Thank you for the fervent support — but it doesn’t help the cause when one person signs using different email addresses. When that happens, we delete the earlier signatures and give individuals a chance to merge the messages.
REBUILD, REBUILD, REBUILD to show the world, AMERICA can come back from anything bigger and stronger than ever!!!

We should rebuild the Twin Towers just to say, “Hit ’em again…We dare you.”

i think we should rebuild the so we dont forget what happened
We need to rebuild to show the world America’s brothers and sisters can overcome anything and so our future generations will never forget.
We want our twin towers back! It is the only way to feel “We are stand”
