The World Trade Centers were not apart of the New York City skyline, they WERE the skyline. Ever since there were knocked down NYC skyline has never looked the same and the Freedom Tower will only make it worse. People will look at the Freedom as WHAT WAS THERE than WHAT IS THERE. So there's no point in building the Freedom Tower but it's not too late! we can make our voice be heard. Ask your friends and family to sign this petition. Send emails to every body involved at ground zero. And can some body make a facebook page for this? That's GREAT way to help make this petition spread!

TTA Note: An official TTA Facebook page is going to be launched before Labor Day.

Rebuild them. They're icons for New York, for America, and for the world. To build anything else is absolutely disgraceful and disgusting to all of us who remember that day. The people want to return to the original, not some appalling design, to make them feel better. Rebuild them, rebuild them, rebuild them.

I'm not sure if the terrorists did it on purpose... but if they did... they sure put us through a sacrifice to NYC Twin Towers... I was there when it collasped.... I was walking down the sidewalk on the other street... then all of a sudden the only thing I heard was the sound of people yelling and screaming.... and the sound of debris hitting the streets... this was a terrible moment... And I have one last thing to say..... PLEASE PUT THE TWIN TOWERS BACK WHERE THEY BELONG SO IT CAN FEEL LIKE THE TWIN TOWERS NEVER GOT STRUCK BY THE 9/11 TERRORIST ATTACK... And the people that died there were soooo loved.... and their families are in my PRAYERS!! AMEN

TTA Note: Spectacular new Twin Towers would be reminders of what we lost -- not an attempt to forget what happened. Other than their inspiring profile in the skyline, little on the outside or the inside would be exactly as it was on 9/10/2001.

I can't think of a better way to show the world that we will not be shaken. The footprint where the twin towers once stood is a scar on on our nation and provides a permanent monument for the terrorists.

Please, bring back our own, original status symbol. Ever since I was little, I would watch movies, and know that one day I would plan to go visit the Twin Towers. Once 9/11 happened, not only is that no longer possible for me to accomplish that wish, others, younger than me will grow up not enjoying the sheer astonishing feeling of those truly amazing buildings that perfectly represented America. Please rebuild the Twin Towers, bigger, taller, and stronger, GOD BLESS AMERICA.

I've always desired that the Twin Towers be rebuilt exactly as they were, with modern material/safety updates of course. The redevelopment efforts for Ground Zero have, from the very start, been thoroughly corrupted by personal and political agendas, and self-indulgent artistic license. The events of 9/11 changed much beyond our control. Why must we willingly allow what IS in our control to also be permanently altered? Of course, let there be a grand memorial. On that most can agree. But anything less than rebuilding the Twin Towers exactly as they were, on the exact same sites, is a slap to America's face and a dishonor to the fallen.

Please rebuild those wonderful towers who illuminate again New York by there incredible height. The twins towers was really a symbol for the America and even for my country the Canada. Im really sad they was destroyed but we can forget and rebuild. The people who destroyed it don't merit we stand here to do nothing, we must fight and rebuild the most quick possible to show we are not coward and we are free and trust in God. Im only 16 years old and im not american but i like this country and want to stay on it and i trust you are a free people and these attack show you was able to go in the burning towers to save those bless people who just want one thing, live. Your a people able to be free and bless. You are my heroes forever. Mickael Rivard

The reason I'm signing this petition has less to do with the aesthetic of the Freedom Tower project, but the purpose behind it and its effect on its residents. It is disgusting and selfish that the PA committee and governmental supporters approved of this plan that the public (New York and America)BOLDLY DISAPPROVED of. This is a PURE example of governmental greed that needs to be controlled and stopped. Our voice is vital in this situation because a project this expensive should not be supported in an economic crisis we are in. If the Twin Towers II propasal cost less and takes shorter the time to build, this could help not only the New York economy, but nationwide. It's worth it because we need this opportunity to help ALL of America.

I was only two years old when the Twin Towers were brought down. As I got older, the more that I could learn, the more that I actually wanted to see the towers. But I can't! All we have are pretty pictures before the attacks. Does anyone remember what the postcards use to say? "The closest that some of us may ever get to Heaven." I don't want to go to New York and see footprints of the towers with some trees, I want to see the towers! I'm all up for keeping the names of the people we lost, but I want the towers! Think about what that would say for our country! We can get hurt, we can get knocked down, but we will get back up! The Freedom Tower doesn't even come close to marveling the amazing Twin Towers! Rebuild the Twin Towers! Chase

The Freedom Tower is almost completed and you know what? I will never visit New York City again. Never again because we as Americans could have done better than what we did. If we wanted the Twin Towers back we should have protested at ground zero. The Freedom Tower is 80 stories tall now. Why did we let this happen? Why? Why did we let the terrorists win? How could we let these terrorists get away with messing up our skyline? I am not happy about this.

Please rebuild the towers. The only other acceptable option would be a park. A modern contruction will be outdatted within 5 years, real eyesore. The fact that the original plans are still available will save a lot of money and we know for sure the project will look perfect once acheived.

Go for the Towers, we miss them.

The towers need to be rebuilt. Right now in the middle east they build towers larger and grander than ours and we decide to not make buildings bigger because it will not be safe or will attract terrorists. So does that mean everything we did to make USA safer did not work at all? Why can't we do anything in this country anymore with some risk and big dreams? What was our last big dream? The twin towers themselves seems like it.

Even though it's 2011 and they are working on building the freedom tower as I type this I could care less and I still hope and believe that we can rebuild the twin towers that we lost. Personally I don't like the government and what they are doing is destroying our country the country we use to call America. If they build this so called glass piece of sh*t the terrorists win. I liked New York's Skyline the way it was and how symbolic it was to our nation and I'd like to see it that way again and when I visit it someday and I'd like to visit the new twin towers and stand on top of them. I'm 19 and and have never seen or been to the towers in person but I would have liked to and I really wish they'd rebuild them so I could get that chance.

We need to rebuild the twin towers and the only way to do that is to go down to ground zero and protest against the freedom tower. We need to form an organization to protest at ground zero. This is the only way to get the twin towers back in the skyline.

My Aunt died on 9/11 because she was in the South tower and to put salt into open wounds, she was pregnant too. So I would of had a nice baby cousin. Building the free-dumb tower is just a giant disgrace to my Aunt and to all the other family members that were lost on that day. Having the Twin Towers back would be greater than ever. It would be the perfect memorial for everyone that was lost. I think that since all of the people have gone this far to get them back, why not just let them have what they want, it's not hurting anybody except those retarded terrorists.

Instead of calling the freedom tower one world trade center, they should call it the world trade cemetery because all of the new buildings look like tomb stones and does not represent New York. For the government to call the freedom tower one world trade center is an insult to the twin towers and those who died at ground zero. I personally won't be visiting Lower Manhattan if they don't rebuild the twin towers.

My father was not an NYC policeman, but for 20 years he was a cop in Mount Vernon and Elmsford, in Westchester, NY. He was a first responder on 9/11 and stayed down at Ground Zero for four days, patrolling security around the area to make sure everyone stayed away from the then hazardous and still burning debris. He is a true hero in my mind and this plan for new Twin Towers is what everyone wants, and hopefully we can get this plan passed to "Make NY, NY Again" as I remember being one of your slogans.

Good luck, and God Bless America.

I`ve never been to New York, but I often saw the World Trade Center on pictures, in TV and from travel reports and I realized that it was the heart of New York together with the Statue of Liberty, the Brooklyn Bridge and the Empire State Building.
It s wonderful that an organisation like Yours exists to rebuild the WTC.
If you don`t rebuild the most gorgeous building in New York (The Twin Towers)the terrorists will have won because they achieved to destroy the skyline of New York!
The whole World owes it to all the victims of 9/11 to do everything possible to realize the plan to rebuild the Twin Towers. The new Twin Towers will be a sign to show that the terrorists will never destroy a free people!

Quite honestly I hate what is happening at ground zero right now. The twin towers were more than just buildings. The twin towers were New York's belief in itself and it was an American icon. I hate the freedom tower. I hate that building because it is an insult to the American people. The freedom tower is a big middle salute to the American people. That is very disgraceful and I am not happy with it.

"I thought it was impossible, so let's start working" - Philippe Petit, the man who walked between the Twin Towers on a tightrope.

Those words came from an interview when he was describing his first visit to the WTC where he analyzed how he would set up his stunt.

People in charge of rebuilding the WTC need to take a page out of Petit's book when they say that rebuilding the Twin Towers is impossible. If they had the attitude Petit did, the Twin Towers would be on their way long ago. Even now, when rebuilding the Twins seems "impossible", one can still take on the attitude "... so let's start working".

The people were never given a choice as to how the WTC would be rebuilt. We want NY to look like it did before, only better. That mess thats being built right now is a bunch of disconnected buildings that look like they were assembled by small children without any senses of simple style as we had before. MAKE NEW YORK LOOK LIKE IT SHOULD. TWIN TOWERS BIGGER BETTER, STRONGER LIKE THE USA.

The USA is dead it has no heart anymore. Obama has to give America its heart back and rebuild the twin towers. Make them look exactly like the old ones but with more modern and stronger structure. Obama you know you can do it and you know its what your country wants. So for once do something for your country and do something that is right. You owe it to the American people and to the world to rebuild them. Terrorism will never win and this will be the perfect symbol to prove it. My name is Dean. I never made a visit to the World Trade Center, though I wish I had, but I will help TTA bring back what I think made New York a better place: The Twin Towers. They may be rebuilding the WTC, but leaving the Twin Towers out of the picture. If I were them, I'd rebuild those 2 buildings right away. On post 9/11, Al Qaeda left behind not only tragedy and depression in Manhattan, but they also put a curse on the people of NY making them think the Twin Towers are rubbish. I'm glad I'm not the only person who wants to help rebuild the buildings. TTA, I know there is still hope, but we have to hurry. The huge squares where the Towers once stood are becoming memorial pools on the 10th Birthday of 9/11. Lets work together to get

TTA Note: Thanks Dean. That "curse" wasn't put on the people by Al Qaeda, but by some very powerful people in politics and the media who want the people to think of the Towers as old and the desire to see them again as unattainable. The Memorial in no way interferes with new Twin Towers, which would be much more impressive than what they are building now and people instinctively know that. But the knowledge of a robust effort to make it happen has been kept from the people, who would mobilize if they knew the truth. That's a sad way to respond to our national tragedy.

The Twin Towers were such a powerful and iconic part of NYC. Manhattan just doesn't feel the same without them. And unless they are rebuilt in some way, I don't think New York will ever be that cool again. I'm fine with either rebuilding the twin towers as they were, or just having the memorial garden to respect the victims, but the new WTC 1 is very cold and corporate and ominous looking, and really has no connection with any of New York's history or culture.

I think that the twin towers should be rebuilt. If for nothing else but to honor those who have lost their lives fighting this war on terrorism. Americans may find peace and closure if they were to be rebuilt. We have built this country on a sturdy foundation and therefore the twin towers should be ressurected so that the entire world can once again see how tall we stand.

If any public officials do read these comments, I urge you to course correct and go with the plan offered by the Twin Towers Alliance. I grew up in New York till high school. The symbolism is all wrong concerning the current design. The memorial is depressing and the lone tower resembles a cemetery structure. The twin towers spoke so many important things. It spoke of trade between different people and countries (two side by side). It spoke of strength and boldness. Give us them back!

I am not happy with what I am seeing at ground zero. They say that the Freedom Tower is over 70 stories tall and the 9/11 memorial and museum is almost finished for the 10th anniversary of the September 11th attacks. I was hoping to see the twin towers rise once again. It looks like the terrorists have permanently changed our skyline because of corrupt politicians. The Twin Towers should be rebuilt exactly as they stood before 9/11. Our statement to the world should be we are strong and we will rebuild. Honor all the men and women taken from us that day, rebuild their final resting place as it was on their final day. A complete list of all (including their status) who perished should be listed on a memorial plaque next to the WTC Orb (ball) that needs to be brought back to its home. We should NEVER forget what happened that day nor try to erase it from history...
