The construction workers at ground zero don't seem to care what the Twin Towers stood for. The memorial reflecting pools that is right beside the Freedom Tower will remind everyone that we as Americans are afraid because of what the terrorists did. We live in fear. We are not a leading country anymore. The Twin Towers should be built but stronger and better.

I WOULD LOVE TO SEE THE TWIN TOWERS IN THE SKYLINE OF NEW YORK AGAIN.

WHEN I WAS IN BERLIN YEARS AGO AT THE JEWISH MUSEUM DESIGNED BY DANIEL LIBESKIND, I WAS SO EXCITED AT THE MODEL I SAW EXHIBITED OF HIS AWARD WINNING VISION OF HIS NEW BUILDING AT THE NEW WORLD TRADE CENTER. IT WAS SLEEK AND ASCENDANT AND I FELT GOOD ABOUT THAT.
THEN ALL THIS POLITICAL PARALYSIS TOOK PLACE WITH THAT OTHER ARCHITECT.
WHAT IS BEING BUILT THERE NOW IS BULKY,GROSS AND A LOOK TO IT THAT SITS LIKE A LUMP.

GIVE ME BACK THE TWIN TOWERS NOW!!!

Always loved the look of the twin towers and it hurts every time I look at the New York City skyline and don't see them. I believe there could even be a compromise here, still build the freedom tower, but also bring the towers back. I truly hope this pulls through cause the Twin Towers made New York City complete.

Hi i wish these two beautiful towers to be re-erected to heal the skyline of New York and to show you cannot keep a good thing down. The towers were as important as the statue of liberty and identified the city by appearance alone.. when some one says the words "New York" i have always through my life immediately thought of those landmarks.. Twin towers and the Statue of Liberty. When i was young (im 36 yrs old now) as a child and budding artist of drawing... i used to love drawing cityscapes from my mind... most would be made up fantasy drawings but i ALWAYS included the twin towers in every drawing, it was my trade mark so to say. All my life i wanted to visit NY and go to the top of the WTC.. I wish to still do that.. So get them towers built.

I think to rebuild the Towers would be a great idea. The Twin Towers reconstructed will show terrorists that they may be able to destroy America's buildings, but they cannot destroy America, its freedom, or its hope for the future. Let them know, WE ARE PROUD TO BE AMERICANS!!!

I am an American Citizen who stands behind all people for the rebuilding of the Twin Towers. They should be rebuilt not only in tribute to the victims on 9/11 but as well to the fallen soldiers who fought in retalliation for the attack on the american people and its land. The Twin Towers will stand stronger, taller, and will return the pride of accomplishment to the american people and the New York beloved skyline back to New York. It's time for New York to have what they want for once and return those Twin Towers back to their home. It would be a well deserved and long time coming slap in the terrorists faces if this can be accomplished. Those new buildings are pathetic and not to mention overpriced and behind schedule. The Twin Towers wo

Having just returned from a trip to New York City, I was reminded just how much I will never be used to seeing New York without the Twin Towers. I hope one day I won't have to anymore.

Twin Towers should be back. But I don't think so because they were and they are my favorite buildings in the world. But because when you fall, you must get back on your feet and go on walking. New York and the United States should say to the world: "we are back in business, again, as usual".

Restoration. Renewal. Repair. Rejuvenation. Revival. Return...Required.

The new plans would look perfectly fine anywhere else in the world.

But not at Ground Zero.

I've been to the site twice since 2001. I have my memories. In 50 years time, people need to see that America, and the world, did not bow to terrorism and extremism. The memories will fade with each generation. We cannot allow just another cluster of generic early 21st century vanity projects to be the legacy that endures.

Put it right. Make it whole.

What? They are building a new tower? It is going to be just the one? It is going to be 1,776 feet tall?...

This new building has nobody excited. It's not news. No one's talking about it. No one seems to care. We need something more bold. We need two towers. Give us two Freedom Towers, I don't care, but bring us back our towers. The new Freedom Tower will I'm sure be great, and most of us will eventually appreciate it, but we'll miss our two towers we could have had back!

I love the WTC twin towers. They made America great. Unlike a lot of people, I love the idea of the freedom tower. It's what America is all about. It even looks great as it's being built. What I can't stand are the structures they're calling WTC 2 and 3. Talk about awful! You don't even have the funding to build them past ground level. SO why not do all Americans and all the victoms of 9/11 a favor. Scrap them and rebuild the twin towers, bigger and better than ever on the locations of WTC 2 and 3. Why insult everyone when you don't even have the money to build these disgraceful buildings that don't even look like they belong in NYC. I say build the new towers 1776 feet from ground to roof. Bring back the twin towers and let freedom

I'm young, not too old. But I understand why the World Trade Center has to be rebuilt, as stated before, I'm sure, every time the Terrorists look at America, 11 years after the devastating attack, and still see a mourning, powerful country, brought to its knees by a single terrorist event, It's very sad, the lives unforgettably changed, the lives lost. But America has to show the terrorists that America, in the face of disastrous events, will still stand strong, and will not waver, even in the face of such a tragedy.

I honestly believe that there would be nothing better than for the people of New York and America than to rebuild the twin towers. Not only were they a big part of America but also a big part of the world. The name I believe is the WORLD Trade Center and because of how many innocent people lost their lives on that tragic day, it would only be right to honor them by rebuilding those monumental figures that everyone loved instead of replacing them. Once you lose a loved one they cannot be replaced, which many of us learned that day. The closest we can come to doing so is by doing the right thing and restoring those towers.

As a life-long resident of Oklahoma City, I too live in a city that experienced the horrors of terrorism. National pride dictates that when we get knocked down we get up again. REBUILD THE TOWERS! It's the only solution that doesn't reek of catering to financial interests. It's the only solution that gives the metaphorical finger to those who would attempt to destroy us. It's the only solution capable of representing the best that NYC and America have to offer!

I agree that the only way to show the evil terrorists that we can not be swayed in out freedoms and our country is to rebuild the twin towers. Maybe higher, or bigger. Certainly test the steel and materials so that no amount of the hottest fire could bring them down. Replacing 2 towers of that size with one the same size as tower 1 to me is kinda like an admitting of "yeah you got us once". How about we either place bricks with all the names of the fallen in the foundation or somehow carve their names into the foundation.

I think Twin Towers MUST be rebuilt! First of all, they were one of the most popular symbols of the United States (like the US Capitol or the White House). They were grand, colossal, impressing, imagination-blowing buildings. Libeskind's plan is pathetic - it's nothing. That would fly somewhere in Europe, but not in the US. America has it's own culture, it's own architecture, so building European skyscraper in New York City is wrong. Put them back! Put Twin Towers back! Good luck, guys! I hope you'll make it!

I was born in Nassau County, New York, lived in Hicksville for nine years, moved to Missouri, now I live in Indiana. And after nine years, just turned 19-and-a-half, my love for my New Yorkers and New York itself is still strong. I say rebuild it, which was one of my thoughts after they collapsed. This time with equipped defense system, and variety of exit systems. I want them to be the first thing I see when I return home.

Everyone has heard of all those conspiracy theories. Either you believe that it was an inside job or you don't, but it actually doesn't matter: If we manage to rebuild the twin towers as they were before 9/11, we show the whole world that people still rule and can change a country and that the people are more powerful than the most powerfull men in the world!!

I'm 15, I'm from Switzerland and I have a dream: rebuild the twin towers in New York City!

YES WE CAN!

Rebuild the towers taller than ever. As an American, it's an embarrassment that it's going to be 10 years since the attack this September and they aren't rebuilt yet. United we all stand as one, we will never forget what these subhuman inbreds have done, but they will never win, we will reign supreme as they are confined to their caves living in squalid conditions. God Bless America!

I have not, and sadly nor will ever, look upon the old Twin Towers with my own eyes. I have never been to New York, but the abstraction I know only from TV shows and movies is only complete with those two buildings. Like others have said, New York without the Twin Towers is just not the same. If they are rebuilt, it will send a message of defiance to terrorsts, that we refuse to let an iconic skyline be cut down. The opportunity still exists to halt construction of the Freedom Tower at its present height and rebuild the Twin Towers alongside it. We must garner more public support for this.

Now that Osama Bin Laden is dead and gone, we can still get the Twin Towers rebuilt but stronger and better and with a good memorial. The Twin Towers is our only way to healing and a hope of a better future for our next generation. Don't let the terrorists change our skyline and ruin a skyline that we were all familiar with before 9/11. Let us build back those icons but stronger and better. The Twin Towers need to be rebuilt.

Although im from the UK, seeing the new WTC plans disgusts me. Nothing would be better than to see the twin towers back the way they were, to show the USA was not defeated and came back stronger. The people in those buildings were an irreplaceable fixture of humanity. They were people going to work. In a wonderful structure that was a beacon of promise rising to the sky. I cannot begin to tell you how much I oppose this new structure with unwelcoming hollow doors surrounded by cold concrete. I don't want to be reminded of the ugliness, I don't want to be reminded of the shuttering uncomfortable changes that have followed. These memories will not help me, they won't help the city of New York, and they won't help the families. No to the death shrine, we need to get back to work.
