We as americans need to stand together to let everyone know we will not be defeated. The replica of the buildings themselfs would be the memorial where you could visit your relatives or friends that might have died there.
I always thought they should have been rebuilt exactly the same as before, maybe a little taller with safety in mind so structurally more sound. Similar in idea to the war when Germany blew up a bridge we would rebuild it, they would blow it up again and we would rebuild it again. Stubborn pride in the face of the enemy. Anything less is showing submission and the Manhattan skyline isn't the same without them. Remember those who lost their lives in a fitting manner. Bring the Twins back !!!
It would not be right to not rebuild the Twin Towers! They are an american icon and they should be rebuilt. To honor all who died and the survivors and to show the terrorists that the USA will NOT be defeated and show them this will only make us stronger! God bless the USA.
I hope somehow and some way by some miracle the twin towers can be rebuilt, in spite of the current ongoing construction on the "tombstone" tower. I share the sentiments of many Americans that the only right way to honor the memory of those who were lost on 9/11 and send a clear message of our strength, unity, and resolve as Americans to the world and our enemies is to rebuild the twin towers even higher and stronger than they were before. Nothing else will bring the healing this country needs.
God bless the people of New York, God bless our troops, and God bless America!
Let's just build the Twin Towers back up again. WE CAN DO IT.
I wasn't a victim of those who died. I alway's wanted to visted New York. I feel so horrible to those who died in the plane crashes and the world trade center. We should rebuild a stronger building that will better protect everyone. We should put a special palce for those victim so that they can visted the site. My heart goes out to those who died especially the one in flight 93 who fight back and try to save their lives as well as other. Everytime I see a movie that has the world trades center. Or they show the world trade center the day of the attack. My heart go out to those victim.
The Towers were sublime, exquisite and stunning especially at night. Now, no one will be able to view them, visit them, and enjoy the view from the top, so THE TERRORISTS HAVE SUCCEEDED AND THEIR KIND CAN FOREVER BOAST "HERE WE DID IT". Also, a certain ambitious architect has succeeded in essentially building a memorial to himself in its place (let's not go into the ironies of the causes and effects here). Total crying shame, and I don't feel like visiting New York at all.
Hello. My name is Jake. I am 13 years old. I live near new york city. I was only 3 when the attacks happen. My parents said when I was real young, I was taken to the top of the world traid center. Oviousily I don't remember. I want to view "The top of the world." I would like to see these wonderfull towers rebuilt and perhaps make them 20 stories taller. Ihe freedom towers don't belong in the New York city skyline. They belong in hong kong, Not new york city. So yes Rebuild Replace Remember. Take these words. God bless the people who died.
It has been 10 years since the attacks on our country. Honestly I think that the only right and true memorial is to rebuild the Twin Towers. Without the Twin Towers the skyline looks empty. The Twin Towers were the most famous landmarks in the world. The Twin Towers were very iconic. They have appeared in alot of movies and television shows. This is how iconic the Twin Towers were. We need our Twin Towers back. This will honor the victims of 9/11. Rebuild the Twin Towers.
I believe what this site believes. Rebuilding the World Trade Center TALLER AND STRONGER THAN BEFORE is the only good solution in my opinion. Rebuilding the towers would show the terrorists and the countries that harbor them of the United States' resiliance. Building the Freedom Tower will show them that the US would rather replace than rebuild. NAY I SAY!
Hi! I'm Hungarian, and even if I didn't see the Twin Towers, and haven't been to the USA, I want those buildings back! When I see a film, and it sets in New York, and I can't see the towers in the background I feel that something important is missing. They were symbols, and the two towers were as important as any other famous buildings in the USA. Why build a new one instead of rebuilding them, with doubled safety of course? I want them rebuilt!
I seen those towers go down on 9/11 and I will not stand for this horrible looking freedom tower, I and all of america dont want that tower we want the twin towers and we will fight till the end until we get what america needs in its skyline.
I believe that if the beautiful Twin Towers are not rebuilt, we are, as a nation, failing. Not reconstructing these buildings is admitting defeat, and succumbing to the enemy, and it is a DAMN shame. Please rebuild the Twin Towers of the USA!
The Twin Towers must return to New York City. Without the Twin Towers New York will never be the same again! 9/11 was the worst and deadliest terrorist attack of all time. We lost alot of innocent people and alot of office space. In order to restore what was lost on September 11, 2001, we must rebuild the original Twin Towers but stronger and better! That is the only memorial that we can give to the victims and their families! Rebuild the Twin Towers! Rest in peace to Minuro Yamasaki! Minor Yamasaki designed the Twin Towers!
The Twin Towers Need To Come Back. Without them, new york and america wont be the same. Why wont people understand that these towers need to come back! They are just not showing respect to those who died on september 11. They say the freedom tower is the only way to support them. The twin towers will! Also building the twin towers could be the only memorial we could ever have for those events on september 11. Please America, Help rebuild the twin towers!!
I'm a Peruvian (now an American citizen, too) living in the U.S for 17 years, and like everybody in the world I was horrified by the terrorists attacks against New York. I can't still watch the destruction of the Twin Towers. I was deeply affected. If you want to honor the lives lost at this tragic event, New York must rebuild their famous Twin Towers, not replacing them. Raising them like the Fenix, will be a slap in the face for those terrorists and show up to them what this country is: Stronger and not easy to give up, but build the Freedom Tower will do the opposite.
The Freedom Tower is a big insult to those who died on September 11, 2001. That is total disrespect to the victims and the families! By not rebuilding the Twin Towers, we are saying to ourselves and we are saying to the world that we are cowards! We are cowards because we are afraid of terrorism. We are letting them destroy our way of life by not rebuilding the Twin Towers!
I remember looking at the twin towers when i was a kid, and gazing in awe at what an amazing country we were, and how we could build the greatest buildings that I've ever seen. I was in first grade when 9/11 happened. My most vivid memory was walking out of my front door on September 12, and being hit in the face with a cloud of ash. I asked my dad if they were going to rebuild the twin towers, and he said "I hope they will. And if they do, you can take your kids there, because I was never able to take you there." He had told me that he was going to take me soon. Long live the twin towers.
The current design for the new tower is simply ridiculous. The original twins represented power and strength. This angular, glittering piece of trash will only serve as a mockery to the U.S. By not putting back what we have lost, America is admitting defeat to the 2001 attack. Put back the twins, reestablish that once mighty N.Y. skyline, and confirm to the rest of the world that America cannot and will not be debilitated from foreign threats. We are a resilient people - something the Twin Towers undauntedly showcased. This insult of a design is far from reaching the glory that the twins had.
The twin towers were an iconic symbol of new york's economic might. The new towers don't even match the floor area of the old towers, bring back the twins!
The Twin Towers stood for all that America welcomes, world trade and the quest for world peace. I did not lose anyone in 9/11 but my best friend worked in Tower 2 and was fortunately able to escape just as the second tower was hit. Her life was affected greatly as were all the others there and all of America. I will never forget. The Twin Towers deserve to be rebuilt!
SAVE THE TWIN TOWERS!! I DONT WANT A FREEDOM TOWER. IT DOESNT LOOK RIGHT. IT JUST SCREAMS COMMERCIAL.
Starting my early days I am keening on the Twin Towers. I am keening on their beauty and their interesting construction but tragedy. Twin Towers were one of the most honorable places in the world, you know. People all around the world know them.
That time had slipped and only North Tower has remained.
I do not think that it is good idea to build Ground Zero because I think it is not real replacement of Twin Towers.
Anyway I hope that Twin Towers will be rebuilt. Even if it will take 30 years.
the twin towers must be rebuilt to show the entire world that american people are able to do great things, also the twin towers. Do not let the new ugly fredom tower represent and use the name of World Trade Center because this tower is not worth of it.
My family and I were in New York for a week to take in three baseball games. I was twelve when we decided to go to the World Trade Center for lunch. I convinced my father to take me to the open observation deck as well, on Saturday the eleventh, 8/11.
We returned to my hometown of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and within weeks, 9/11 was upon us. I was woken up by my parents and told the news. By the time school began the WTC was no more, it was 8:28 MT. I will never forget 9/11. We won't forget 9/11. So why should the government and these developers forget the twin towers? Bring WTC back to NYC.
i lost my cousin that fatal day on the 90th floor of the south tower, it would be amazing to see where he stood 10 years ago to be on the 90th floor on that corner office, over looking the waters of the Hudson, it would bean amazing tribute to him and everyone else who died that day.
forever R.I.P. 9/11 victims.
I was nine when I saw the events on the news on that sad day. I was frightened and shocked as much as a kid could be. Even then I understood what was lost - America has lost its symbol. But this movement can change it all, and I really want it to succeed. Back in the day whenever I thought of the US, I always imagined the Twin Towers. And now since I've saw this movement, I want to take part in it and help America be the way it was, as strong as can be. Do not allow some terrorists change you and break you. Show them your strength!!! Rebuild your icon the way it was! Never give in!
Rebuild the Twin Towers in honor of those who perished in the 9/11 attacks! The Twin Towers is the only right memorial for the victims and their families! 9/11 will never be forgotten but we must move forward with strength and dignity! Let us rebuild in honor of the past and hope for the future generation!
REBUILD THE WTC's TWIN TOWERS. I have no loved one who died on that day. But i think that the twin towers should be taller, safer and stronger.
GIVE BACK THE REAL WTC.
Rebuilding the Twin Towers would be the only way to respect and keep in memory those we lost while still being able to move forward as a nation and people with strength and dignity.
What is currently being built/planned is too worked, aesthetically confusing, uninspired... weak. I'd rather see nothing then have a permanent eye sore on our beautiful skyline and create emotional longing in our hearts. Twin Towers was a deep rooted universally recognized symbol and positive beacon of New York and of America. Replacing it would be telling the world we have given up and retreated.
I participated in the circus that resulted in the current plans for Ground Zero, such as the Listening to the City events in which no one listened to anyone. The officials involved have never cared what the people wanted or what was best for this city. We must rebuild the Twin Towers or else our city will always have a glaring hole in its skyline, no matter what else might be put there.
The new Freedom Tower that is being proposed right now is a sign that we have been defeated! The Twin Towers is the only way to show people that we are strong and will not tolerate terrorism and violence in our nation! The Twin Towers made Lower Manhattan what it is today! The Freedom Tower does not match with the skyline at all! Plus it is smaller than the Twin Towers! The Twin Towers should be rebuilt but stronger than it was!
In order for America to shine again, the Twin Towers need to be rebuilt. How is it that New Orleans was rebuilt after a natural disaster, and New York politicians don't see that it is necessary to show the world that we won't allow terrorists to knock us down and keep us down? What happened? After all those who died when attempting to rescue people, to extinguish a fire that was never going to be put out, and those who lost family and friends, how can we not see fit to rebuild these towers as a monument to their memory?
We cannot [settle] for a second rate World Trade Center. We must cap the so called Freedom Tower and replace the stumps where towers 2 and 3 are planned with new, stronger Twin Towers. We need to restore New York's skyline with a World Trade Center that America and the world can be proud of. Without the Twin Towers, New York is not New York.
There could be no greater Memorial to those Americans who perished on on 9/11 then to rebuild the World Trade Center on Ground zero.
It would be great to put all their names on it.
I would feel a sense of Victory and Healing for America.
Oh Yes; Please, Lets do it.
I lived on Governor's Island from 1987-1990 as a young child. After using Google maps to explore Governor's Island and parts of NYC, I realize that my childhood from ages 5-7 has been desecrated. To know that an event like 9/11 happened so close to where I used to live. Everyday when I am not thinking about anything else, the images of two planes ramming into the buildings haunts my mind.
While I liked the idea of the Freedom Tower, I now feel that rebuilding the Twin Towers would be what needs to happen to best heal the wounds of 9/11.
The official new trade center is going to be significantly smaller than the original ones. What is that crap? This is America. When someone destroys our buildings, do we say "okay, we will just rebuild it smaller next time"? No, that is not America. That is sad.
Also, the new trade center's appearance does not match the aesthetics of NYC at all.
If we could just rebuild them like they were before, it sets the strongest example -- that we can't be broken.
These buildings were the symbol of New York, they should be rebuilt, nothing else! Nothing can compare to their greatness!
Hello from England, The twin towers were not just two buildings, they were a national symbol of the united states. a very awful thing happened to them on 9/11, and your telling me they are not going to be replaced? ? very sad to think they are gone forever. im not saying make an exact replica, they could be totally different in look! just make sure they are identical to each other. TWIN towers! so when u look from across the river u see the national symbol once again of 2 bold twin brothers towering above all else!
Ever since I was 3, back in 2000, I dreamed about going to the magnificent towers. When they got destroyed, I had to go to therapy to sort out depression, seeing these towers rebuilt would mean alot to everyone in america.
TTA Note: Anyone who thinks Tyler is exaggerating should check out the link to his website...
Hello, my name is Mackenzie. i'm from Canada, and i never knew what 9/11 was until i researched it. and i am mad because those heartless terrorists destroyed one of my dreams. i would love to see those towers stand again. thanks for reading.
Twin Towers deserve to be rebuilt. They were brought down by people who just had absolutely no care in the world at all about those who were within. The now gone children who have no future anymore. Please, lets stand, and rebuild!
My heart was broken on September 11th 2001 and it will not be pieced together untill the Twin Towers are standing tall in the Manhattan skyline once again.
The Twin Towers were the very heart of New York City and nothing will ever replace what was lost on 9/11! The new Freedom Tower that is being built at ground zero is an insult to the people who lost families, friends, or loved ones on 9/11! What is happening at ground zero is a rank abuse! The port authority doesn't own anything at ground zero! The people are the ones to decide what they want built at the World Trade Center site!
Ever since the attacks happend that day in september, i believe america has never been the same or will be again and lost so much! The skyline will never look complete again without those two towering towers standing bold and smart! The new freedom tower may be a small effort at building for the fututre but has no connection with the past towers and is no way a replacement to the originals!
In my opinon if any new towers were to be bulit, it would only be fitting to rebuild the orginal towers, identical exterior features but much needed and improved safety and economical features inside!
On September 11, 2001, I was only in first grade. Even though I may have been young and I am not even from New York, the attacks had a huge impact on me. I couldn't quite understand why somebody would want to kill thousands of innocent people for their religion and "god". The Twin Towers were the highlight of New York and we, along with the rest of America, need them back. This one, single tower does not symbolize America's strength, freedom, or courage whatsoever. I believe that building this tower instead of the Twin Towers is quite frankly an insult to all of New York and America. Rebuild.
