I wish to see the twin towers standing again-but the freedom tower looks more like a needle that would kill a person than anything amazing, so america should do the RIGHT thing and REBUILD THE TWIN TOWERS!!!!!!

The Freedom Tower will never represent what the Twin Towers represented for 30 years of its existence! The Twin Towers were a symbol of who were as Americans! The Twin Towers were a symbol of peace and belief in humanity! We need our towers back! The Twin Towers is the only answer and it will bring healing to this country!

I was born and raised in Bensonhurst Brooklyn New York, as a child growing up in the early to mid 90s, my father worked in World Trade Tower 1. I would go to work with him and admire my city from 1400ft high. My father sadly passed away from cancer in 2005, I miss him dearly, it would make my dreams come true to relive my greatest memory's with him, and join him once again in spirit on the new Twin Towers. I hope and pray that in the near future I can be on the observation deck with my father once again.

I can't believe that we have failed to rebuild the Twin Towers that once dominated the Manhattan skyline! With the Freedom Tower the skyline will look as though the terrorists have finished what they have started! The Twin Towers represented man's belief in peace! The Twin Towers were a symbol of America! The terrorists will win because we have failed to live up to our standards! Congratulations to Osama Bin Laden! The terrorists have won!

Rebuild the towers as they were or greater. That is how it should be.

I agree with a lot of what I see here. The twin towers were a symbol of democratic strength, thought, and leadership. By rebuilding them, we are rejuvenating and improving that icon and bringing back what people who find glee in destruction rather than progress took away. By building a memorial, we are building what someone described here as the stumps of what was. I don't want to look down from the new WTC and be forever reminded of a sick past. I want to look forward and continue to build. Leaders, rethink this decision and don't lose on this opportunity to bring NYC forward.

Hello people who love old, good and beautiful Twins. I was dreaming to come to New York City and see WTC towers. Now is destroyed and Mr. Silverstein wants build one Freedom tower, which in my opinion has a terrible desing.
So please Mr. Silverstein and many others who wants Freedom tower, rebuild old Twin towers and make NYC same as was before 9/11 attacks. You will make a lot of people happy.

seeing the new design of this wtc is frustrating. they look like towers of 2050. it would be nice to see not one but two towers. not to mention two twin towers.

New York skyline just isn't the same! Why did they choose this awful awful design of the freedom tower. In the small country of Poland, it was the will of the people to rebuild Warsaw's Royal Castle destroyed by WWII. Today it stands as a monument to people's determination, when their culture and nationhood were threatened. A favorite observation regarding the castle's reconstruction is that it is often considered to be a truthful copy, but "only" a copy of a historic building nonetheless. However, in two hundred years, that it is a copy will be insignificant, because it will be seen that Warsaw was only without its castle for about 35 years. Why not the same for the twin towers?

I believe the best way to honor the lives lost on 9/11/2001 and to make the strongest stand against terrorism is to rebuild the twin towers.

I can imagine that not only 80% of the American citizens want their towers back, but also 80% of the complete Western civilization. And I am one of them. Rebuild, and add one extra floor in each, to show those terrorists that they can destroy steel and concrete, but that they will never be able to destroy the Western morality: FREEDOM!

The Twin Towers should definitely be rebuilt. They are my favorite buildings. I have never seen them in reality, and I would really want my dream to come true by seeing them stand tall and mighty in New York City's skyline. According to me, the Twin Towers are what makes New York City the most unique city in the entire universe. The Freedom Tower wouldn't be a proper way of honoring those who lost their lives on 9/11. Rebuild the Twin Towers, and build a proper memorial for the victims of 9/11. God Bless America.

The Freedom Tower will not heal the skyline! There is still a hole in my heart after 9/11! We want the Twin Towers rebuilt but stronger than ever! The people originally wanted to Twin Towers rebuilt! Everybody wants those icons back in the skyline the way they were but stronger! The Twin Towers 2 project will give respect and honor those that have died on September 11, 2001! That is the only memorial we can give to the victims and their families!

I live in Canada but I hear and feel the pain of every New Yorker all the way over here! I'm sorry if anyone dissagrees but I think that to build anything less then a memoral and or re-build the Twin Towers is an insult. That ground is sacred (like a church or a cemetery, when you think of how many people lost there lives on that ground) anything less then a testament to what the original Towers stood for or a memoral to the fallen is just WRONG!!!!!

Iconic towers, my favourite buildings in the world. Freedom tower is an insult to all those who lost loved ones on September 11, 2001. "Reflecting Absence" is an awful, impratical memorial which resembles two massive toilets. Thank God there are people like Ken Gardner out there who are dedicated to see those towers rise, that breaktaking observation deck return overlooking the best city on earth and the lights of the twin towers to brighten the spirits of the world, and to dim the lights of cowards like Osama bin Laden.

Rebuilding the Twin Towers as they looked before would truly show the strength of the American Spirit. Our forefathers faced overwhelming odds to gain our freedom, and they succeeded. In rebuilding the Twin Towers, we would show both our allies and our enemies that no matter what you may throw at us, we will strike back, we will rebuild, and we will never give up. What has kept this nation great for over two hundred years is our unwavering courage and determination. We began as an unimportant land, but we showed the world what we were and now we are the most powerful nation.

i think that rebuilding the towers the way they stood is not just a great idea but its our responsibility as americans i think if we can as a country get as much voluteer workers that they had pouring into the city of new york. just after that fateful day, then i think that there would be as much if not more voluteers to rebuild them as they were before 9/11 dont let the government let us decide what we should do lets keep this country a FREE country lets be strong and stick up for our beleifs.

We need to rebuild the original twin towers. The freedom tower or WTC1, or what ever they call it now is more of a replacement to the towers than a memorial to all of those who died that terrible day. Let's rebuild the world trade center and show the terrorists who's boss!

Hi, I'm a 13 year old from London, England. My family and I stayed in New York for a month when I was only 4 years old. I have no memories of visiting except for walking next to one of the towers. We left, and 8 days later the twin towers were no more. It's an event I feel close to though I'm no New Yorker. I think the "Freedom Tower" is a disgusting idea, all I want to see are those 2 towers that I remember from so long ago! BRING US BACK THE TWIN TOWERS! If America is a nation, then Americans should decide what to build, not just a few in power!

I was born and raised here in New York City and I am very upset at the decision of The Port Authority and LMDC along with Governor Pataki. It was totally wrong of them to not rebuild the original Twin Towers. I feel it can still be done though. If you notice on the new WTC site, the original footprints are still there. I know they will be memorial pools, but I feel in the future they can always been built on. These are the original foundations of the Twin Towers. If the decision is made to rebuild, can they rebuilt the original towers on these foundations even though they were pools?

The terrorists win if we don't rebuild the Twin Towers. The Freedom Tower is not the right response to the September 11th attacks. If we want to come back stronger as a nation we must rebuild what was stolen from us and that is the iconic Twin Towers. The Twin Towers stood for world peace and love. I'm from Auckland, New Zealand and I came to New York for a holiday in 2008. I love New York and had always dreamed of going there as a young child. I had seen this amazing city through watching many movies. I was absolutely devastated and sad when 9-11 happened. I remember watching on tv back in New Zealand crying and thinking WHY?? Terrorism is something which makes no sense to me. I dreamed of coming to your gorgeous city for years and years and always wanted to go to the lookout at the top of the towers. I was captured by everything about these wonderful sky scrapers. PLEASE REBUILD THEM!

hi im from england i want to see those 2 lovely towers built again because they were the icon of american society. unfortunetly living on the otherside of the atlantic i never got to see them. but wouldn't it be great if they got rebuilt. 🙂 they were AWSOME. some day i hope to go to america and new york and maybe, just maybe i could see them standing tall in all there grace and glory. love fom the UK

As a kid i always looked forward to going to New York City and seeing the World Trade Centers and i remember my mom taking me out of school when they were hit. It was very devastating to watch and now that i am attempting to become a police officer in New York nothing would make me happier than to see first hand the buildings going back up. 😀

The Freedom tower is absolutely nothing. The Twin Towers made downtown Manhattan into what it is. They made impact like no other tower. If New Yorkers can destroy baseball stadiums and rebuild new ones, the same should go for World Trade Center. Give an opportunity to those who never got a chance to feel the Twin Towers experience.

What the **** are the designers of the freedom tower smoking? That place looks like a pile of shiz. And why is it taking so long? The twin towers would already be finished.
