I was in New York on September 8th through the 10th 2001 and always wanted to go to the World Trade Center. On the way home September 10th 2001 I looked back and said next time we come Im going to see the WTC. The next day they were gone. I don't feel that the "Freedom Tower" is a sutiable replacement. We need to have an original design like the originals. I truly hope that this disign will be the one I go to see.

I questioned the rebuilding of "The Towers". I felt like we would be asking for trouble, asking for another strike. I feared for the lives of others in another assault. "Fear" is exactly what terror is about. I am sure the people who lived through "Pearl Harbor" had similar, if not worse thoughts. Still they moved forward & rebuilt. REBUILD THE TOWERS!!

The one true symbol of America's prosperity and power is the twin towers, not the Freedom Tower, rebuild them bigger than ever!

I too want the towers built. I have photographs of the World Trade Center all over my home and have made my own memorials around the house. I usually can't wait for night fall because that's when I enjoy and turn on all the lights and tributes I've made here. I even have a lamp in my window that's built like the Twin Towers and I've placed it there so when I turn on the lamp at night the second towers reflects in the window and I have my towers back. 6th floor of 295 Park Ave So. Take a look.

I was at the WTC just a few months before the attack.I've visited NYC many times since, but I still can't bring myself to visit Ground Zero. I feel that rebuilding the towers would be the most fitting memorial, and an act of defiance to the people that hurt us, and those who would like to in the future.

WTC is a historical Manument. Not just a building. It must be rebuilt to honor the city. ASK the voice of people. It is symbol of NY and USA. It must be honored by rebuilding the towers to "RESURRECT the SPIRIT within."

PLEASE build the Twin Towers in the exact same way (with safety improvements of course).
We need to tell the terrorists "In your face buddy! No one messes with the USA!"

I cannot believe that it has been 8 years and still no rebuilding has even started.
It is a national disgrace that politics has gotten in the way of rebuilding the twin towers.
The time is now.

I am a fireman from Northern Virginia and I am a strong supporter of rebuilding the Twin Towers to show the world that no matter what they do or think we are strong. Also so that the lives that were MURDERED eight years ago today will not have been lost in vain. I lost 343 brothers that day and I would hate to think they paid the ultimate sacrifice, and then for america to back down and not rebuild a great symbol of this country.

The very best way slap terrorism in the face is to re-build the twin towers. The new towers should look like the old ones, but even taller and more modern. Two gigantic Americvan flages shoould top each tower, with "we will never forget" written on the lower part of each flag.

Sincerely, and with the highest respect,

I always wanted to visit New York City...why? The Twin Towers. After them evil forces destroyed them and murdered all those souls, my spirit cried out and my wishes waned. If the towers were rebuilt, which they should be, in the way that the scientists say they should have been infrastructurally speaking, they would sustain anything those forces would throw at them! I would also be one of the billions of visitors on grand re-opening of the rebirth of 'our twin Phoenixes'!

I am from Canada but love the USA, especially NYC. I have American family members. One who has worked as a security guard in the twin towers.. I would love to see the towers built exactly how they were...

I can add nothing more than what has already been said in so many ways: Put the towers back, now! What better way to show the attackers that they cannot win, then to watch the towers rise again, better, taller, stronger, like the future of America.

I come from Glasgow, Scotland and have always loved NYC. I visit the city regularly and love it dearly.

The iconic image of the towers stays with me since early childhood; there's something missing everytime I visit or see images of downtown Manhattan.

Rebuild and show defiance against terrorism.

Put them back. Even though we cannot replace the losses and families we can provide a beautiful memorial dedicated to those who died and some closure to victims who still know what it was like to be there or to know that their family members died on the site.

This shouldn't even be a question. Those towers were such a part of the city. I've seen the architectural proposals and heard some very impressive interviews with people who were victims of the devastation on 9/11 who are for the towers coming back. I agree.

I'm not frm USA but I lyk this country and hav a few felow countrymen who worked and died in 9.11.Watchng the news and the real footages of the scene made me feel realy sad and mad(i'm sure evrybody felt the same way).I feel super sory for the victims and their families. Those animals who participated for this tragedy to happen and are still out there should be burned alive! Not rebuilding the Twin Towers also says "You won terrorists". AMERICA CAN AND SHOULD BRING TWIN TOWERS BACK TO LIFE.

It's been 8 years! New York looks so naked now. Don't let "him" win. They managed to rebuild Dresden and Berlin not to mention Hiroshima and Nagasaki in a reasonable amount of time and they were entire cities but you can't rebuild two towers due to bureaucratic bickering? Re-invent them a little bit fair enough but get the most famous skyline in the world back to its former glory at any cost.

Put back what was once there. I don't live in New York but the skyline definitely has a void without the twin towers. The freedom tower is a dumb looking building.

I lost my uncle, a.k.a my best friend's (my cousin's) dad. Any way to show that we could rebound from this, i support, and that is to rebuild the towers!

Having just moved to New York this year, it makes me very sad to see that nothing has been done to rebuild.

I am all for building new twin towers!!

The World Trade Center IS one of the biggest and greatest landmarks in New York and in United States history.
The Port Authority is stupid for trying to reshape Manhatten’s famous skyline with something so pointless as the Freedom Tower, or as “THEIR” so called One World Trade Center, which is a huge slap in the face to the Twin Towers, for frauding the North Tower’s original name.

I always said that we should show the world we can not be intimadated. If you knock our buildings down we will be them back. If you knock them down again we will build three fold. We are not to show fear, Americans need to stand tall and show the world and our enemies that we will not live in fear..I worked in the trade centers as a drywall taper..God Bless America

PUT THEM BACK!!! FILL THE VOID!!! The current proposed structures make NYC look like Disneyland... which NY AIN'T!!! They punctuated the City and said "HERE WE ARE! HERE IS NEW YORK!" like NO other structure EVER will. Consider all the PRIOR PROPER PLANNING that already went into the Twins, as well as all the historical innovation that was derived from their construction...
P L E A S E .... PUT THEM BACK ! ! !

I was just looking at the design of the new rebuilt Twin Towers and like it much better than what they are building right now. It makes no sense building something totally different at the ground zero site. I think most Americans prefer to see stronger rebuilt Twin Towers added back to the New York City skyline. I found this website of the new redesigned Twin Towers 2 and its really a cool looking building which I don't understand why they are building a freedom Tower that no one wants.

I was only 5 when the twin towers were attacked. I remember sitting on the floor in my lounge room waiting for my favourite children's television shows to come on. They didn't. Instead, ABC was reporting on the story of 2 commercial jet airliners that were hijacked and flown into the Twin Towers. Only as I grew older have I realised the importance of what happened on that day. If we rebuild the twin towers we are showing terrorists around the world that we are resilient and will not be kept down by them.
