This tragedy has bruised my soul and my heart goes out to all the heroes that day inside of that building. I joined the US Army because I wanted to show support to the victims of 9/11. I wish that we could go back in time and stop this tragedy from ever happening, but who am I kidding time travel will never be possible, and God lets things happen for a reason. I hope that every American has learned something from this tragedy. I will never forget that day and the heroes in those towers.

The rebuilding of the Twin Towers is a moral imperative. The Towers lent an ICONIC status to New York City as the center of commerce, freedom & democracy. A civilized & forward moving society does not cower in the face of challenge but instead rebuilds in a bigger, better & bolder fashion. That would be the greatest tribute and honor to those who died on 9/11, those who built this great city, & a lesson for generations to come. I am New Yorker by birth, a former downtown resident, and still work downtown. Lower Manhattan is one of the most beautiful and historic urban centers in the world and it has a right to maintain that status. Just building nice, pleasant, modern buildings in the place of the Twin Towers will never fill the void. -- Christopher London, Editor & Founder, ManhattanSociety.com

The New York skyline simply will not be complete until the Twin Towers are rebuilt floor for floor as tall as they were before the attack.

Lower Manhattan doesn't look right, and surely will not with some swooping fantasy that doesn't even dare house residents in its upper floors. My family used the photograph of us on the outside observation deck of the South Tower in February 2001 for our Christmas card as we'd always planned. I went back for the light sculptures. I also saw the Pile when a cousin was married at St. Paul's in December. Lord have mercy.

The Twin Towers are all I live for. I used to go to them once a week, just to stare at their amazing beauty. But one week i happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. I saw things that still haunt me, and the only thing that will ever really help me cope, is seeing the twin towers, standing tall, strong and proud. I have to beleive in my heart, I will be visiting the twin towers every week again. I just have to.

Our 8th year anniversary is almost here and my heart is still broken and longs to see the towers raised to their feet again so the rest of our country can get back up as well. God Bless our great country.

WTC MUST return. AS IT WERE. Changing the NYC skyline sets a final and long-lasting defeat to this city and to the rest of the free world. These towers must reign the skies again - better, stronger and safer but essentially the same. The voice of the majority will be heard. As we were shaken at the sight of the disaster, we need the spirit of what these towers stand for re-embodied, showing that our common beliefs and hopes will never be altered!

I had wanted to go to the very top of those towers ever since i was in kindergarden and to know that the supposed "new" World Trade Center buildings are going to look nothing like the Twin Towers and not be nearly as tall is heartbreaking and im sure others share this feeling. There are too many people opposed to that pathetic excuse for the World Trade Center the Twin Towers must be rebuilt without them the New York skyline will never be whole again please rebuild the towers and the peoples hope.

I had always hoped to have a chance to go to the top of one of those towers if and when my chance came to visit NYC. That was taken away from me. Around the time that happened, while chatting on IRC with other people from other countries, they also expressed dismay, even anger, over what had happened to the towers, and expressed sentiments similar to mine...as has been said, those towers represent everything great that this nation has ever been. Rebuild!

Returning to NYC after 9/11 was ... incredible. Enough to leave anyone speechless. Never before or since have I heard Manhattan silent. Rebuilding the towers is the only option that should be considered. The New York skyline will be a source of pain for anyone who was there regardless of what is built, the most important consideration is that America stand back up - tall and strong.

The twin towers should be rebuilt. They were and still are a symbol of our strength, and should they be rebuilt, it will show that we will not go down for good.

It hurts forever when I seen and stood a block and half away from the attacks. To put up stronger towers would bring a light back in my heart and others. This is for us, not the government.

I agree with this video 110%!!

I am appalled that we still have a huge hole in the ground 8 years after the attack!

I watched a Penn and Teller Bull$hit episode on this! I am upset that a bunch of political yahoos are using the twin tower rebuild for some BS political agenda!

So many other people both famous and not famous say. REBUILD THOSE TOWERS EXACTLY AS THEY WERE!

The best way to give counter the evils that was done that day is to REBUILD THOSE TOWERS AND STAND PROUD AGAIN!!

Dear Americans, if we all think about rebuilding the Twin towers is no a bad idea, because it would give more jobs to our americans, and we would put New York City back to place, the only thing that is missing is the twin towers and the fredom tower, what are they thinking it would make us americas weaker and thats something we are not, we united we stand.

United states need the twin towers back,so we can show the terorrists that we never give up.

Thank you

I have never seen the world trade center in my life becuse I was born in 1994. I would really love to see the towers rise in the NYC skyline instead of "the pile of junk" Freedom tower. The WTC are my favorite buildngs even though they are gone. I build them with legos and I know basically more than 87 percent of their history.

The towers were iconic, if they can survive this long without being forgotten. Then there is something special about them. They weren't just any ordinary glass tower block.

Please re-build twin towers!
Only if economically feasible, of course.

I thought from the beginning that the towers should be built bigger and better. Make it the tallest in the world, have radar and plane tracking and communications to identify, have battery missle and detterance. Make the towers the most valuable businness center in the world, put lights on top for brilliance and tracking spotlight and laser guided missles. If there will be an attack, they will attack anything in a city. Lets show these terrorists who's boss. Lets start using lasar guided missles, drones

I hate the Freedom Tower! Everything it stands for is corrupt! I know mayor bloomie did the summits in secret because he knew everyone else supported the Twin Towers II. Please Please Please don't let these few politicians get away with the biggest crime in history. Robbing the American people of a 5 star skyline and diminishing their will to nothing.

I myself think its a better idea to rebuild the twin towers back and my reasons are that they make a symbol not only to america but the world also for their strength of humanity and it also makes the new york skyline. Even if the freedom tower is built something is still missing from the world trade center site. This is what the public is asking for I agree. If we rebuild the towers back hopefully we still can show our freedom and we will win. The twin towers and america will rise again.
