The last time I have seen the Twin Towers was on August 25, 2001. 2 weeks before the attacks. As a Brooklyn-born woman raised in NJ I believe that the Twin Towers weren't just 2 buildings; they were the heart of New York. Any immigrant who comes here to the US to become a citizen, the first he or she will look at aside from Lady Liberty will be the Twin Towers. I HATE the new 1 World Trade Center tower. IT STINKS!!! REBUILD THE TWIN TOWERS AND LET'S REBUILD THE PRIDE OF NEW YORK!!!!

Please rebulid "The real World Trade Center." NYC is not the same without it. As for the Freedom Tower and all its other buildings, find a new construction site for them, cuz Manhattan sure ain't the place for them.

This so called "Freedom tower" will be a symbol of defeat, if it gets built the terrorists have won. REBUILD THE TWIN TOWERS!

I said it within days of 9/11 - They should rebuild the towers EXACTLY the way they looked pre 9/11. What better way can we show the resiliency of the American spirit by saying - terrorists can do what they want but we'll put them right back. F--- you bin Laden!

I was born in 1994 and I first remember seeing the Twin Towers in a movie in 1997 when I was 3. I remember thinking wow such tall big towers. Thats how I knew New York. Ever since then I wanted to live in New York City. The Twin Towers is how alot of people know NYC. If there were no Twin Towers, I never would've known about NYC until probably the age of 10. The old WTC was soo beautiful. I like the design, reminds me of the 90's. The Freedom tower is just ugly. I want the old ones back.

Rebuild the original version of the towers, they were beautiful, and were the best representation of New York City. No one should ever change this, ever!

To not rebuild these towers as they were is a national disgrace! They represent all that is mighty and powerful with this great city and reflect the spirit of the USA. Please, enough is enough......REBUILD THE TWIN TOWERS NOW!

If the next mayor promised to rebuild the towers he/she would get my vote. That simple!

If the White House had been destroyed, would you build some condos in it's place? Please replace this American symbol. The towers should be re-built.

To build new versions of the towers is the best way to show the world that we (AMERICANS!) don't give in to defeat. To build anything less would, in my opinion, label us as weak cowards. So re-build them bigger and better than ever and lets show the world that we are not weak and we will always be on top!!!

Absolutely Beautiful!
This is a national treasure and international icon!

Near these hollow grounds, build a community...
Taller, stronger, unified and more inspiring than the original WTC
Let the architects of tomorrow’s reach
Exceed their grasp

The decision not to rebuild the Twin Towers was as big of a disaster as 9/11 itself. Other countries are raising amazing structures (Burj Dubai), and the United States of America, the greatest country on earth, cannot build a new set of Twin Towers. It's a national disgrace. We must not show the world we are weak. When they are raised it will do something the freedom tower never would... Never Give Up, Never Surrender... God Bless America!

I feel rebuilding on the site with anything less than two re-engineered Twin Towers is truly admitting defeat, that we are not resilient as a nation and as a people, and tells the terrorists that if you try hard enough you can beat us into submission. I can think of no better way to both memorialize the tragedy and collectively move-on as a nation than by rebuilding. Physically and architectural speaking, the most painful reminder of 9/11 is the absence of the Twin Towers.

I still remember the morning of 9/11/2001, I was glued to the Television I saw the planes go into the towers. I was not alive at the attack at Pearl Harbor, but it was a similar feeling the day of 9/11, I was engrossed with the telling the story of that sad day. It has been almost nine years since that took place. Over 3,000 Americans and other citizens of other nations gave their lives for our nation.

I will never forget the day those planes crashed into the WTC and I can bet you I will never forget the days those towers stood again. We can do this!

If passengers on Flight 93 had been unsuccessful in stopping the hijackers from crashing their plane into either the White House or Capitol Building, would we agree to any re-building effort that did not restore them to their original form? The Twin Towers, in their own way, were just as iconic as those DC structures.

Re-build the Twin Towers better, stronger, and at least one floor taller. The previously proposed plan is an abomination.

"I feel this way about it. World trade means world peace and consequently the World Trade Center buildings in New York ... had a bigger purpose than just to provide room for tenants. The World Trade Center is a living symbol of man's dedication to world peace ... beyond the compelling need to make this a monument to world peace, the World Trade Center should, because of its importance, become a representation of man's belief in humanity, his need for individual dignity, his beliefs in the cooperation of men, and through cooperation, his ability to find greatness." — Minoru Yamasaki

hi my concern is to the board of the designers and commity of n.y.c . i think its a good idea to put the towers back and the monuments for the lost ones and the fallen, but i dont think u should post ur layouts or how tall it would be, let alone animated pics of the buildings. dont yall think thats a threat for them to attack us again. i have realatives that fought the flames and ones who fight for our country that is falling apart! i dont think you all should post it. we cant let our guard down.

Just the idea of rebuilding the towers lifts my spirits in ways other buildings on the site never will.

Rebuild.

The Twin Towers and Building #7 should be rebuilt. I do not believe 2 jetliners could pulverize these 3 buildings. I believe the official story is a cover-up. Do I have the answers? No. I'm just sayin'....do your homework.

Would you leave the Statue of Liberty in rubble and build something else on her pedestal? Why put up a monument to terrorists... put the towers back!

THE TWIN TOWERS MADE US NEW YORKERS HAVE A CERTAIN TYPE OF PRIDE KNOWING THAT EVERY MORNING GOING TO SCHOOL OR GOING TO WORK U COULD SEE THEM FROM FAR AWAY AND KNOWING THAT ITS IN YOUR CITY. I WAS RAISED SEEING THOSE 2 BEAUTIFUL BUILDINGS TALKING ABOUT THEM AND ADMIRING HOW MAN CAN BUILD SOMETHING LIKE THAT. SO I THINK BRINGING THEM BACK WILL BRING NEW YORK AND AMERICAN PRIDE BACK INTO ALL OF OUR HEARTS AND SHOW THAT WE COME BACK STRONG.

Rebuild identical towers only change might be just a bit higher. The longer the gap is there the longer the evil that destroyed them have a trophy on the skyline. Since September 11, 2001 I thought that anything less than restoration to the original would be a symbol of defeat for America and an insult to those who perished that day. To restore would be both an act of love and Patriotism. First consider this--II Chronicles 7:14.

I always admired the Twin Towers (WTC), after the Liberty Statue it held a high place as an Icon, and was the Financial Life line of the world no doubt.
Now that being lost, only Physically , the same has to be rebuilt Taller and stronger with all the researched technology.

As a former resident of the NYC metro area, nothing would make me happier and satisfied than the rebuilding of the twin towers, taller and safer than the original design. May I suggest 124 floors of office space, and "Windows to the World" on the 125th Fl. Please use my bail-out dollars to rebuild the twin towers!!!
