The proposed WTC plan is a national embarrassment. The towers should be rebuilt.

While I don't necessarily think the new design is abhorrent, it would make a terrific statement if the twin towers were rebuilt in all their glory. It says to those that mean us harm, "you knock us down, we get right back up!" In terms of healing, rebuilding the towers in the image of the originals will be a signal that those who died on 9/11 did not do so in vain, but rather, their passing was a moment that united the nation in a common goal of strength and courage in the face of evil.

Replacing the WTC with a similar design is the only truly American thing to do!!! The originals were more than just a group of buildings. They were known worldwide as the biggest landmark, of the greatest city, and nation, in the world! Lets show those terrorist chumps what we're made of! Long live America!

We must have the ever beautiful Twin Towers rebuilt, and I'm proud to say that I want to be part of it no matter what. The WTC Twin Towers were a symbol of NYC, and not only a icon of the United States but also of the rest of the world. Rebuilding the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center complex will show the rest of the world that whatever is destroyed can be rebuilt the way it was. The USA should show a good example of that to the rest of the world.

The Twin Towers MUST be rebuilt.
America needs closure.
America needs a miracle.
The new WTC provides both.

The Freedom Tower is NOT the solution and niether is that big empty hole in Manhattan.

Rebuilt the original Twin Towers!

I'm from Australia and would love to visit them some day, if the Freedom Tower is built you can guarantee I won't be visiting.

I think that they should rebuild the twin towers. It is not right to fill a historic spot with some other building. The twin towers is a part of our lives and should not be forgotten. I always wanted to see the twin towers with my own 2 eyes but if they fill that spot with the freedom tower then my dreanm can not be fulfilled. REBUILD THE TWIN TOWERS!!!

we should bring back the twin towers because its not right to spend all those years making them and just let two hijacked planes bring them down like that SO LETS BRING THEM BACK BIGGER AND STRONGER

Hi Folks, I am Peter from Hungary (Europe). I tought that america will restore the original twintowers and I was really sad when I heard about new plans making totally new towers. I wish I could do more for america rebuild the original twintowers becouse everyone liked it. But I dont really know what america official, state or plan on rebuilding the ground zero. I cannot find any news in this topic if you can send some send it for ravkin@ymail.com . Is it any chance they will rebuilt the towers?

I would like to see the twin towers rebuilt to show the world we are strong and we will never forget.

They should not make the freedom tower because eva since i wuz little i wanted to see the twin towers and now that the twin towers are gone that cant happen if you build the freedom tower where the twin towers once was. U should follow what evry1 wants and that's for the twin towers NOT the freedom tower. We need that hole in our hearts filled again...that could happen if you rebuild the twin towers!

hey if they do ever build them back they should put on a plaque on one of the towers saying ( when a phoenix dies it will rise again from its ashes) that would be a good idea . u know what someone needs to complain saying " WE WANT THE TWIN TOWERS BACK, GIVE THE PPL WAT THEY WANT !" someone seriously needs to say something. i never got to see those towers, to see them up again would make my wish come true

freedom tower will be a mistake

I love New York and believe the original towers should be rebuilt with appropriate safety measures. NYC people will ALWAYS prevail and can will continue to rise above what happened in 2001.

I always wanted to stand on top of one of the Towers and view New York, ever since I saw them in the movie Home Alone 2.
When I heard that they were destroyed during the attacks on September 11, I was very sad. Then, I saw on Wikipedia that people wanted to rebuild them; and I think it's a great idea. The Freedom Tower looks too futuristic and is only one building. The Twin Towers have a great design and were a symbol of NY. I hope you will succeed in rebuilding them.

WHAT A SITE! to see those two beautiful buildings when i was coming into the greatest city in the world! i only lived in new york a short time,and most of my family still do. None were hurt! THANK GOD! I'm a commercial truck driver and delivering at the trade centers or WHEREVER in new york, was always gave me butterflies. you know why? you ask? because I was so excited to see the WORLD TRADE CENTER and all those beautiful people that made NEW YORK WHAT IT IS TODAY!!

Absolutely YES to Twin Towers rebuilding!
Twin Towers II could (and SHOULD) be built with some upgrading features of the present, to give a signal of continuity with the past in the New York City life and, at the same time, to give a signal of respect about 9/11 events.
Rebuild the Twin Towers in an actual visual and conception is possible, and I think it's due to this wonderful city whose most famous skyline in the World was dominated by the Yamasaki artwork.

This will make me vary happy. I always though we will rebuild this landmark bigger and better than before or a least as good as before, not smaller that lets them win.

I am a CAD Drafter in a small firm in Times Square and can't agree more. Nothing than re-building the towers will let the world know that we are still one big strong country and that they will not chnage us. I say rebuild them right back and also as a New Yorker for the the last 22 years, which is my whole life, it is sadness to look over Manhattan and not see the towers. The towers were a symbol to us New Yorkers and it is not the same without them.

Commerce needs to be returned to New York City. We can't allow the roaches of the world to destroy us economically. REBUILD! Take your pick of all our "friendly" muslim countries to send the bill to. Our politicians need to wake up and protect our interests! Its been 7 years and still nothing?!!! This is unacceptable.

I was born in NJ and now I am a New Yorker, when I was little I used to walk the streets and stare up in complete amazement of the two strong twins and two stronger better twins would restore NY and the world. We need two towers.

Bring the Twin Towers back. Not only does it restore the amazing skyline, and leave a lasting rememberance to the fallen, it will show the world that our resolve as a nation is one!! To rebuild and grow stronger!!! Not replace with a weak understated facsimile!!

Rebuild them better than ever. We shouldn't let terrorists shape the skyline of New York. The towers will forever be a part of the city. Why are people trying to fight that?

Make the skyline whole again! Allow our memories of those we lost to last forever as we gaze at that wonderful view in remembrance of them. Those buildings are the only thing we can bring back 🙁

For all reasons, they should be rebuilt

I like the new WTC Twin Towers. They should stop construction of the Freedom Tower and cancel it so they can switch over to building WTC2 and start construction on that. That new plan is much better. Rebuild WTC the way it was with that new design. New York needs the Twin Towers to return!

To rebuild the World Trade Center anything less than what it was before 9/11 would be a disgrace not only to all who were lost there, but to all New Yorkers, this entire Nation and the rest of the World. The Twin Towers were a symbol of strength, prosperity, freedom and peace for all the World. Not only should they be built identical to what they were before but, they should be one story taller with a massive memorial dedicated to all the people who lost their lives on this most tragic day.

I am a New Yorker and the wife of a veteran who served in Iraq. I was there the day the towers fell, and I feel that the towers should be rebuilt. This freedom tower is in my humble opinion, a mockery. For those who perished that day and those who continue to give their lives overseas, bring back the towers.

Having been born and raised in the city, the towers were always an icon of the majesty of scope of life in New York. I remember looking up in awe at them as a boy and as an adult, being comforted by seeing them from almost any point on the streets of the city. Since they've been gone, things haven't been the same. I lost a cousin, a firefighter, in the towers and I know he would want them back the way they were.
It's time for the families and the bureaucracy to step aside and bring the towers back.

To rebuild anything less than a new set of Twins will be to state to all human-kind our collective loss of American spirit & fortitude & a symbolic show of defeat by all Americans.
No longer will pride be associated with that unmistakably beautiful skyline, rather just a bleak and empty pain. Forever.

Let's literally "pick ourselves up" and rebuild the TWIN Towers and dedicate it to the memory of all those who lost their lives that day. Showing our resilience in this way is the best defiance against those who seek to destroy us.
