I now live in NC, but grew up in CT. Still have relatives in Queens and Brooklyn. PLEASE rebuild the towers. NYC is not the same without them. They are a symbol of America just like the Statue of Liberty and other great landmarks. We need to show our enemies that they cannot win. We need to stand tall, just like the towers.

PLEASE rebuild the towers. They were not pretty, I used to live in NYC and I think they were kind of ugly...but they were OURS, and they were NYC. Simply put, put them back, and even bigger and we win. Do ANYTHING else, and they have won!

I just saw your site, and am glad that Im not the only one that thinks the towers should be put back just as they were. There is plenty of room in the 16 empty acres for a memorial. What better memorial could there be than to show that we will not let them leave a permanant scar. Build them again!!!

The structural design integrity of the recently rebuilt WTC #7 could be incorporated in the rebuilding of Twin Towers with identical outward appearance to the originals. These design features would make the new towers nearly impossible to "pancake".

We should not let the terrorists win by depriving us of one of our most beautiful landmarks in this country, the Twin Towers. I believe we should rebuild the twin towers ... one foot taller. Although the rendering of the Freedom Tower seems to be nice, it is clearly a duplicate of the Statue of Liberty which is already there! So it doesn't make sense to me to make the new tower look exactly like a statue that stands right in front of the tower.

My husband is a professional firefighter from Newark, NJ. He was ordered by Sharpe James NOT to go to NYC. He and some of his fellow firefighters took a rig and went there anyway for four days. God bless them all including my brother Michael Clark, International Ironworks Local 40 NYC. Put the towers back! The skyline looks like a smile with its front teeth missing!

Put it back as it was! This is NYC, the center of commerce in the world, not a theme park!!!

I believe that al-queda is winning right now because we have not rebuilt. It shows that we can be beaten and destroyed only to let the dust settle and move on. Is this what our country has come to? We have to rebuild otherwise they will keep blowing up buildings as soon as we let our gaurd down and why do they because they know that we will not rebuild. I say we MUST rebuild to show that we can not be beaten into the ground and that we are Strong and we are still AMERICA the land of the FREE!!

There is no BIGGER "middle finger" to ALL of our opponents past, present and future then to rebuild the towers and show them the kind of resilience we AMERICANS are truly capable of!!!

The enemy chose to destroy these towers as a statement. Therefore we have no choice but to rebuild the twin towers, if our response is to mean anything.

TWO TOWERS, not one - TWO TOWERS, one to symbolize LIBERTY, the other FREEDOM.

That is how you defeat terrorism, not by misguided forays into non-involved Islamic countries, not by creating a police state big brother Dept. of Homeland Security but by PUTTING BACK THOSE TOWERS, BIGGER AND BETTER.

The time it takes to build the towers will be a time that in which america will grow closer together. We all need this.

There was nothing wrong with the original design. Better to maintain the memory with something very similar.

WTC Tenants Who Would Return

The skyline don't right look without the towers. It's been there for years and now it's gone. It still hurts every year on 09/11 as a reminder of that fateful day and will NEVER FORGET. Rebuild the towers if you will; but prefer to see the original but with up-to-date technology. New York just doesn't look right without the towers. REBUILD THE TWIN TOWERS

Praise The Lord, yes we should rebuild the twin towers as a lasting memorial to the people who were lost in the destruction of the first instead of this freedom tower which would be a disgrace to New York and America.

No "Disneyland" replacement. Anything less than rebuilding is a victory for the terrorists.

I like Donald Trump's idea. Put them back where they were, only one story taller.

I am a a New Yorker, my cousin is a Marine who has been to Iraq twice and my Uncle is a Fireman who was at 9/11 even though he is a Newark Fireman. This "Freedom Tower" is the stupidest idea I have ever seen. We need The Twin Towers put back the way they were. Nothing will show the terrorists how strong we our more then putting them back up Bigger then before. We need our two beloved Twin Towers back not this single Tower that looks like it was designed by the archaeologically retarded.

Please, please, rebuild WTC 1 & 2 at least as they were, if not subtly modernized. If I had my way, a third tower would also be built where WTC 7 stood, similar in design but 30% taller and golden, a memorial tower. But if nothing else, rebuild 1 & 2.

The current design for the new WTC is maudlin and cheap looking, as if we wanted to build something tall but didn't quite have it in us. If it gets built it will be a permanent bruise on the face of New York and the nation. Please don't. Rebuild.

I recently went to new york for the first time and felt saddened to see the skyline was nothing like I had seen on TV it looked like something was missing those Towers were seen in so many movies and they looked so proud and tall crossing the bridge I too would like to see them built again,I now understand the meaning of those Towers and Iam from LA and had never experienced the wonderful city but sad to say it was not the same, I grew to love the Towers just by seeing them in pictures and TV.

We do not need a "new" World Trade Center.
We need "the" World Trade Center.

Rebuilding without the Twin Towers is defeatist. Whatever we build will be a target for the enemy no matter what, so just do it. I had never been to the observation deck or Windows on The World, but would love to one day.

money and politics should not desecrate this holy, tragic, honorable, day of infamy, site. the towers should return, bigger, safer and without costs considerations. bring back the towers, dont replace it with some cheap fancy buildings.

I firmly believe that if 9/11 had happened anywhere else in the world, the Twin Towers would have been rebuilt by now. I cannot understand the logic of building one tall tower as opposed to replacing the two that were there before. PLEASE REBUILD THE TWIN TOWERS.

They changed the plans a couple of times already, what's one more? 6 years later, and still not 1 above ground floor built yet. We can't bring those lost on that day back, but we could rebuild the twin towers, bigger, stronger, maybe black like the Sears tower (both in defiance and remembrence). The Pentagon was rebuilt, why not WTC?

WE NEED SOME HIGH PROFILE, INFLUENTIAL HELP....MAYBE DONALD TRUMP WOULD RE-INTRODUCE HIS IDEA?

PLEASE GET BACK INVOLVED MR TRUMP!!!!

I think if you were to ask all the people who was murdered on 9/11 how the would want the towers rebuilt they would say "build back as close to how they originally looked". It would be a fitting tribute to the people who died that day to restore the New York skyline back to its original splendor & would be a great way to say "take that" to all the enemies of freedom. As a tribute just build the towers back to the floor level where the planes hit. Honor America, honor those who gave all.

The Romans knew how to respond when attacked or something was destroyed, they would build it again, but stonger and bigger. They never showed weakness, they knew what it would say to their enemies. Is there any real question what should be built again?
