Only an idiot would consider any thing but total replacement of what was there as a really earnest testimonial to those we lost and as a warning to those who would do us harm in the future. My Father was the Chauffeur at 9 Truck for half of his career and he would agree were he around to have witnessed all that transpired...DEM Jr

When I was 16, my aunt took me to the top of WTC. I remember how magnificent the towers were. Though I didn't know any of the people who lost their lives on Sept. 11th, my heart goes out to their families and friends. I've heard so many people saying how we can't let the terrorists win. I feel rebuilding the towers as they were, (but more structurally secure), would show them that they can't knock us down, but they can't keep us there. Give the twin towers back to the New Yorkers and to Americans.

I loved the Twin Towers rebuild them near where they once were and the 'Freedom Tower' somewhere else. the twin towers might not have been the prettiest of buildings, but find somebody that would rather not have them. Rebuild them to be like the Burj al Dubia which is now the world's tallest it is residential, offices, and hotels. It would shove it the terriorists' face to rebuild the Twin Towers not a a so called 'freedom tower' rising 1776 (the year the US was founded) feet. Build the real thing!

Re-Build the twin towers with one additional floor per tower that remains empty as a tribute to all those who perished.

i believe the twin towers should be rebuilt as in when you're knocked down yu get up again to show your strength and determination not to retreat to any sort of evil. if it was the statue of liberty there would no question it would be replaced why not the twin towers. they say they would never rent the high floors i say build it 75% for office space and the top floors for storage space or make it a non occupied restriced area but keep the height the same.
TTA Note: There would be no need to leave the top floors empty. There would be more takers to work there than could fit on the top floors.

I THINK THEY SHOULD REBUILD THE TOWERS BECAUSE THE 2 TOWERS SHOWED A SYMBOL OF UNITY,FREEDOM, ACCOMPLISHMENT,INTEGRITY OF THIS GREAT CITY OF N.Y.C AN ECONOMIC STRENGTH OF A UNITED NATIONS OF MILLIONS OF ETHNIC GROUPS,LANGUAGES,RACES,CULTURES,COUNTRIES UNITED AS ONE. AND AIN'T NO ONE GOING TO STEAL OUR FREEDOM THAT WE THE PEOPLE HAVE STRUGGLED TO ACQUIRE FOR MANY YEARS. WE NEED TO SHOW OUR STRENGTH AN DETERMINATION THAT WE ARE NOT GOING TO BE PUT DOWN BY WHAT WE WENT THRU PLUS WE'VE BEEN THRU WORSE.

Rebuild our towers! Even though I do not live in NYC, I see the towers as a part of our American culture. To let these towers fade away into history is doing a disservice to our country. They are more than just buildings, they now represent the hopes, dreams and success of all Americans.

New, identical towers should be built but don't necessarily need to be as high; what's wrong with 80 or 90 floors? They would be much higher than anything around them and as beautiful as the originals. The twin towers created a danger of an accidental plane crash. The inner structure of the towers should be changed for better fireproofing and faster evacuation - not necessarily because of fear of another terror attack, but just for ordinary safety reasons.

Its taken 6 years, and we still have one gigantic hole. Obviously, there's a reason. Nothing other than rebuilding the original Twin Towers makes sense. Since the original fell, its been nothing but politics and arguing over which plan is better. I would rebuild the original and make them taller, more beautiful, so that the terrorists know we did not stand down, but stood right back up and showed them it made us even stronger, and we will NEVER back down to them, EVER. God Bless America!!!

First and foremost as a proud NY'er, I understand and feel the pain with all of those who lost loved ones on that tragic day. As a child, I did not see my father for the first years of my life because he was busy 'building his towers'. He was a foreman for the cement and concrete union, was on the job for all those years and I didn't mind one bit. I got to see my dad's work every day, and HE was so proud of that. Unfortunately, I lost him right after the attacks of 9/11. REBUILD THE TOWERS!

They hit them in 1993 and they were fixed and repaired and stood as a reminder to all who hate us that we will not fall. Rebuilding the original towers is only going to send the message to anyone who dares harm us that not only will you fail to break the resolve of the American people but we will always rise from the ashes stronger than ever before.

I implore that both towers be re-built in not only a respect to the original skyline that has become and still is a symbol of NY but also a famous piece of cinema history. Every pre 9/11 film with NY in it has at least one shot of the towers. I don't give a flying ___ about whats "in the works" Rebuild them bigger and more defiant than ever. They should be rebuilt to one and a half times original size. If your chicken ___ of terrorists then re-route flyzones, or better yet mount a S.A.M. on top!

To rebuild the Twin Towers would be the best memorial to those who lost their lives and to the many thousands who still suffer the effects of that horrible, horrible day.

WE SHOULD NOT ONLY BRING THE TOWERS BACK, WE SHOULD ADD ONE FLOOR EXTRA WITH RED WHITE AND BLUE LIGHTS AND NO OCCUPIED SPACE ON THAT FLOOR. THAT SHOULD BE THE MEMORIAL, AT THE TOP OF THE SKY. THAT'S NEW YORK! IT'S A SIN THESE TOWERS WERE NOT REBUILT. THERE SHOULD BE A PUBLIC REFERENDUM IN NEW YORK, IT'S OUR LANDSCAPE, WE WANT IT BACK. P.S. WHAT BETTER HEADSTONE FOR THE DECEASED VICTIMS THAN A TOWER????? I WOULD WANT THAT IF IT WERE ME. IN MEMORY OF LT. KEVIN DONNELLY AND MITCHELL WALLACE.

Rebuilding the twin towers is the only real way to send the message to the bastards that destroyed them that they cannot topple America! We MUST rise from the ashes like the phoenix and show the world that we will not be taken down. Build them one story taller and put a memorial on the top floor, closest to heaven. I think that the victims would want it that way, and the majority of Americans want it that way. The Pentagon has been rebuilt. Let's do the same with New York! God Bless America!!!!

Here in Ireland. Six year and on a Tuesday as well. They should build the Twin Towers back as they were because loved ones work and died there. It would be the best tribute to them with each floor named after them.
My mother visited the towers in the late 70's and my sister with her husband were on the top of the north tower when the visit New York in the 90's.
So build them towers again.

Everyone I have spoken with is completely against this new, so called Freedom tower! The Twin Towers were a huge part of New York City and held a special meaning to all who viewed their grace, strength and symbolism. Build them stronger, taller and mightier.

They were a New York City and an American icon. Erecting any other building in their place will never be accepted, acknowledged and it is disgraceful. It’s like changing the Statue of Liberty. You simply can’t.

As I write this, it is now the sixth anniversary of that tragic day when so many innocent lives were taken. My heart will forever go out to the families and friends who lost their loved ones. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I would love to be able to look at the skyline once again and see the two towers that once stood there. It would be such a calming vision with the twilight reflected off their sides and their outlines visible from so far away.

I always thought they would be there, like parents, friends, and loved ones. Just once I wished it wouldn't be so and that they would be there long after I'm gone.

I won't ever look in that direction again if the towers aren't rebuilt. There'll be nothing there to see.

I am the son of Retired F.D.N.Y. Lieutenant James Cierzniewski. He and myself lost what we considered 343 members of our family on September 11. The only right thing to do is to rebuild to show that these Brave few didn't lose their lives in vain. Also to show we are stronger then ever before to those that are responsible for taking the lives of everyone that died innocently that day.

I vehemently agree with everyone here. There could be no better way to ’stick it’ to those terrorists. I for one would work there without thinking twice! In today’s day & age, we can build nicer, taller & more modern buildings. If it’s truly not too late, it’s time to grow a pair and build what everyone is asking for: ANOTHER TWIN TOWERS!

Rebuilding one would be like being a one-legged cripple, admitting defeat and bowing to terrorists demands. Ponder for a moment if they would have wiped out Manhattan, would you build in its place a bunch of one-story buildings? Some very narrow-minded paranoid policy makers have made a serious mistake. Let's change it now before it really is too late!

We should rebuild the Twin Towers as they were, with stronger material of course. I think it would be a nice little F U to the animals that were responsible for their demise. Let's show them and our Country how strong we really are as a nation! We're back and we're better than before!

I've lived in NY all of my life and worked at 7 WTC for 10 years. It breaks my heart to see what they want to build to replace the towers. The Twin Towers in the NY skyline are the symbol of NY. Replacing the Towers with the buildings they are proposing makes me truly sad. I feel like we're admitting defeat and telling the terrorists that they won on that horrific day. The best tribute to the people we lost is to rebuild the Towers and show them that we are not broken or defeated.

The Twin Towers are monuments that belong in New York, just like the Statue of Liberty. The Towers are world reknown and now are a symbol of Democracy, pride and courage! Rebuild them! Get the old drawings out and modify them with new building materials and rebuild them!!!

This seemed to me to be the obvious response to the attack. Rebuild. Maybe bigger. Maybe add a third tower. But rebuild. Show the world and each other how resilient we are. New Yorkers are used to all types of abuse. Yet we always get up and keep going. I'm glad to see that those of us who want to rebuild are finally organizing and speaking out.

#1 If we dont rebuild we look weak in the eyes of our enemy. #2 If we do rebuild they should be the most secure buildings in the world with even anti-aircraft defense capability, it could even defend the rest of the city. #3 WE WANT THEM BACK! It will be a momument of remembrance, hope and strength for ALL the world to see!

I was in Manhattan on 09/11/01 and was not injured and didn’t lose anyone in the attack.
Even the day of the attack, I felt that the best way to show our enemies that they could attack us but COULD NOT BREAK OUR SPIRIT was to rebuild the towers as they were.
As the planning for the site progressed, I couldn't believe that rebuilding was not being considered as an option. I hope that finally we can let them know how we feel as a people and do the right thing to replace what was taken from us
