The magnificent, eternal World Trade Center Twin Towers live forever in all of us as they should live forever in New York City. Individuals come and go; our architecture is for us to determine. The best architecture reflects the best in us. “Rebuild the Pentagon” was the war cry in Washington, D.C. And so the Pentagon was rebuilt, without question, debate, or survivor guilt. Rebuild the Towers and banish the contesting soup egos, visions, and spent money that today is the World Trade Center.
I was introduced to this idea after watching the Penn and Teller episode of their show on showtime about the Ground Zero debacle. I decided to search the internet and see if this was a movement and find myself here. I think this is the best idea for the site. The Towers must be rebuilt! It is the only logical solution.
I believe rebuilding the towers would be a good thing.. I just think people are scared to see the towers again because now they also symbolie the pain, loss, and attack.. However I think people need somewhere to shed their tears.
I am just an ordinary American from Texas. But I grew up learning when the horse bucks you off you don’t crawl off scared and get on a shetland pony. You get back up and get back on that big horse that bucked you off! Rebuilding anything other than our twin towers is admitting defeat!!
Put the towers back, we need to rebuild NYC. Build them stronger and taller, to show everyone in other countrys we will not fall, we will not give up that we have faith.
We can’t build anything else, what is everyone fighting for if we show them that they won.
My congregation and I believe that 4 Towers the same size as the originals, without the Islamic designs the Twin Towers had originally. We must tell these terrorists: “If you try to destroy us, we come back twice as strong.”
New York “IS” the Twin Towers and the Twin Towers “ARE”
New York. Please don’t let the criminals/terrorists take a National Icon away from us. We owe this to all Americans.
To me the towers stood as American innovation and freedom. As a former (pre 911) WTC employee it makes sense to not let the downing of the towers down our freedom, I have always known NYC with the towers and looking across the Hudson it just isn’t with them. Wouldn’t not rebuildling the TT be letting our country be put to an end?
Scrap the two memorial pits. Dedicate the new floors to the lost, rebuild the towers as they stood, -for America!
Rebuild the towers the way they were, maybe one or two stories higher. The proposed plan is impractical. It is a monstrosity. All it does is add a snaggle-tooth skyline that looks like a scar.
I agree with the concept of a memorial for the fallen. However, perhaps the best example of why the towers should be rebuilt should be to turn to the pentagon. Painstaking work went into rebuilding that structure to its exact parameters and the same logic should be applied in this case as well.
From every view the city has lost its skyline! It will never look the same without that balance.
It is time that the people of this city, and those that lost that day, and we all did, stand up and demand these great symbols of what this country stands for be replaced!
May they be stronger and able to withstand another attack if need be. Any other building would be just as strong a target. Rebuild the towers, Get rid of Bush and his court of imbeciles! They are the reason we are a target
I made my first trip to New York this year.A lifelong dream. As the plane came in to the city I looked for the classic skyline that said,”Welcome to New York”.Sadly it was not there.I realised that not only architectually, but also emotionally something was missing.Something was stolen. The only way to heal, and reclaim the identity of the city is to rebuild the Twin Towers.
I believe the rebuilding the towers stronger and safer in the same image, sends a clear message that not only are we stronger and safer as a country, we will not let terrorism destroy our nation. The towers have always been a symbol, and means many things to many people…. if we do not rebuild, I feel it would leave a permanent scar of the face of New York, and the nation. That’s not fair to the victums and their families. The towers would also be a noble memorial for those who lost thier live
The Twin Towers not only defined New York, they were New York. There is no greater memorial we could ever create than to return the Twin Towers to their glorious heights. As the Arch in St. Louis represents the Gateway to the American West, the Twin Towers represent the pillars of America’s front entrance.
The twin towers may not have been as old as the Empire state building, and there has been negative comments about the architectural style; however, I have stood at the base of those Towers in 1979 & 1980 and looked up – let me tell you, it was a spiritual experience!- I have seen the plans for the new tower – to quote from a classic movie “it was like an impotent beach boy”. If we don`t rebuild BOTH towers – the terrorists have won!-REBUILD BOTH TOWERS!!- Not 110 stories – 120!! – Chris Austen
anything else is just a building
Rebuild those towers now!
Rebuild the towers, one foot and one story higher!

To build anything else isn’t right.

REBUILD!!
About time!
I believe rebuilding the towers would be a good thing.. I just think people are scared to see the towers again because now they also symbolie the pain, loss, and attack.. However I think people need somewhere to shed their tears.
I lost friends in the twin towers and my house shook here in alexandria as the plan hit the pentagon. We rebuilt that, we need the towers.
REBUILD THE TOWERS!!!!!

Rebuilding the towers as they were is the correct decision.

I’ve wondered from the beggining why the Twin Towers werent going to be rebuilt. I wish they would.
We NEED to REBUILD. If we do not, THEY WIN PERIOD

EVAN AS A RESIDENT OF LINCOLN, NEBRASKA; I AM ALSO AN AMERICAN,AND WHAT IS MORE AMERICAN THAN WHAT THE TOWERS WERE, AND STOOD FOR?
I agree – restore the Twin Towers and maintain a memorial to those whose lifes were lost and forever changed.

Twin Towers is New York city’s identity. Please give back the famous identity to my one and only city.

Let the buildings began.

The ONLY right thing to do is put back EXACTLY what was.
I firmly believe in your cause.
