I strongly believe that the Twin Towers should be built again. Its what the people really want. I mean building the freedom tower is not the solution. That tower looks odd and its not new york type. I grew up admiring the two most beautiful towers in the world.

I couldn’t agree more – we need the Twin Towers rebuilt and even larger than before! The “Freedom Tower” simply does not measure up at all – look at the stats! The Twin Towers were 110 stories tall and encompassed 8.6 MILLION sq. ft. of floor area dedicated to the heart of our society, a strong & free capitalist economy leading the World – hence the name “WORLD TRADE CENTER”! The Freedom Tower? Only 102 floors and just 2.6 million sq. ft. of floor space.
To the decisionmakers of Manhattan: “Capture” is a theory developed by Nobel laureate economist George Stigler. Capture occurs when those charged to act in the public interest (namely, our elected officials) end up systematically acting in favor of vested interests (namely, the oligarchy of local businessmen).
This is an opportunity to prove that “capture” is the exception, not the rule. Please, for once, act in the public interest. It isn’t as hard as at seems; just listen to the people.
Dear Governor Spitzer, those towers, should have been back up and standing three years ago! Sir, you need to wipe up this mess, sieze control of the site, compensate Silverstein and send him on his happy little way because this is bigger than just him, put a real American like Trump in charge, and build them back 9 feet 11 inches taller and stronger than they were before! I couldn’t agree more!!! I went to the WTC in 1995!…they took us up to the top floor!…and then later…up to the roof!!! It was LITERALLY one of the most amazing experiences in my life!…and one of the most beautiful sights you will ever see! But now…this view no longer exists!…lets bring it back!!!
The best thing we as a nation can do, is to honor the people who lost their lives in that tragic event and our soldiers who continue to fight for our freedom – by rebuilding those twin towers bigger and stronger than ever before and to show the rest of those in this world who oppose us, that we will not be deterred by anything, or any act, to destroy what and who we are. What is being proposed to go up in place of the twin towers is a far cry from what once stood. Bring back the grandure that once defined New York City. Construct something that inspires great things and deeds among all men and women. Don’t put up something that is a constant reminder of everyting that went wrong that day.

As a retired military person and an American my belief is that those Towers need to be replaced exactly as they were and all persons involved that day are properly recognized.
Anything less would tell the terrorists they won and that they can do whatever they want to us because we are weak in their eyes. Not acceptable before 9/11 and definitely not acceptable now. We must NEVER forget this attack and we must let future generations know the full, complete story of what happened here.
I have waited for a petition like this. When they stated asking for plans for a memorial to put in place of the twin towers – my one and only question was why? The only true and lasting memorial would be the same skyline of New York for everyone to see. Especially the terrorists who think they crushed our souls. We need to show them that we don’t cower to anyone. The USA would show the world that the towers will rise again like the phoenix from the ashes. We need to see our towers again.
I do not think any one has the right to change the NY skyline but the people of NY so putting the towers back just as they were and even safer, bigger, taller and better sends a message that no one stops us and we’ll just keep putting them back up if anyone is lucky enough to illegally try to tear them down a 3rd time. Rebuild. Everyone thought of them as ugly, giant, rectangles; but that’s what needs to be there. Not some gigantic glass tombstone.

No structure or structures can replace the original twin towers but a new set of twin towers exactly the same.
