It would be in honor and tribute to those who lost their lives as well as their families if the Towers were rebuilt in the same location as the previous ones.
Living in Connecticut, I drive into or past Manhattan occasionally and, to this day, it still feels like a punch in the gut when I look at the NYC skyline without our beloved towers standing there. It brings a tear to my eyes every time. I can’t imagine why anyone would NOT want to rebuild and reclaim what was ours. Until our towers are back where they belong, there will always be a hole in our hearts.
In the War of 1812, the British burned down the White House. Did we leave a footprint there for perpetual mourning? No, we rebuilt the White House in defiance. We must resolve to rebuild the exact same Twin Towers. We can never let terrorists change the landscape of America.
As a teenager growing up in Jersey City, my friends and I would go to Manhattan, via PATH to WTC, and shop and eat.
Every time I return to NY/NJ my heart breaks again seeing the gap in the skyline. Not rebuilding the Towers sends a message “We are weak, you can bully us and our response will be meek”.

I went on the WTC when I was a little kid, it had an amazing view, even though I have a faint memory of it. It was my favorite building in New York. Freedom Tower sounds stupid, because most of the world is free now, we’ve lost our reputation as the free nation 200 years ago. We can’t lose to Muslim milatia! Go America! Coming from a Californian.
Although I am not American I feel strongly that USA Should REBUILD. I have visited the Observation deck and can say honestly its the most beautiful sight in the world. UK Support this movement.

Rebuild as soon as possible. But make more substanial so as not to be as easy to knock down. I lived in Manhatten when they were building those towers and remember the sound of the builders tools. Make them stronger!! The Empire State would not have collapsed.
I walked through the scaffolding in the 1970s. I commuted via Path and the E train for 10 years. I shopped and hung at the bar up at Windows. It was a significant part of my working home town. I live elsewhere since 1998, but would return. Rebuilding and creating new businesses to thrive in the Towers would be the quintessential American thing to do, including a proper memorial within. No more wrangling over mediocre monuments – build real Towers.
I love NYC. And I love the NYC Skyline. But as beautiful as the skyline is, its not the same without the twin towers. God forbid, but had the Pentagon been totally destroyed on 9/11 they wouldn’t have built a HECTAGON in its place, would they? No! They would rebuild the entire building THE WAY IT WAS. The same goes if the Statue of Liberty were destroyed. They would rebuild it THE WAY IT WAS. That’s exactly why the WTC site must be rebuilt THE WAY IT WAS including rebuilding the Twin Towers!
If they were icons as everyone said they were, how can you not build the twins towers where they stood and taller than they were? Anything else shows weakness and the condition of the spirit of this country. The freedom tower states we lost and give up. You really scared us and we don’t want to be scared again we might not make it the next time. This country has been thru much worse.
The Twin Towers were a signature part of the NYC skyline, and they are sorely missed. There can be no better way to show courage to our enemies than to replace them as they were or boldy taller.
We need to talk about this more. Don’t let them build the Freedom Tower! Show the terrorists that we won’t let them change our skyline! Rebuild EXACTLY, except mayebe taller and definitely stronger. Rebuilding the Twin Towers is clearly the best way to rebuild New York. There is no better way to prove that the terrorists haven’t destroyed us than to continue with business as usual. What is the point of the Freedom tower anyway? To have the largest building in the world? Well there will probably be another building in just a few years to top it, then what. I have never been to New York, but I’ve seen pictures and those Twin Towers look pretty damn impressive.
