I will never forget the day I heard on the radio that a plane had hit one of the towers. My first thought was my Dad (God rest his soul). I wish he were around at the time, to talk to him about it. I feel very sad that the Towers have not been rebuilt or started to rebuild.
I have a hard time believing that the people of the big apple would give up on this rebuilding effort.
Lets get it done people, and build it taller this time, with 2 of the largest U.S. flags ever on top of each tower.
As someone not from NY and when you thought of the city before Sept. 11th, your initial feeling would be that of excitement and wonderment of it’s vast skyline. Post 9/11 it’s difficult now to think the same way without an evoked feeling of sadness and a longing to once again see those massive twins as they once stood. Ask just about any other US citizen, even those that never visited NY and they too think the towers should be rebuilt just as they were. Listen to the masses..BRING THEM BACK!
I could not fathom the idea of building the tasteless Freedom Tower over the site of such a tragedy. The only way to truly pay homage to the victims and proclaim to the world “We are the American Spirit” is by building the World Trade Center Towers as they were. We owe it to the memory of those lost and to the future of the citizens of New York. REBUILD THE TWIN TOWERS!!!!

Rebuild the Twin Towers! Don’t allow this hallowed ground to become some social-climbing architect’s meaningless art project. Reinstate the former glory of the two sentinel towers, rebuild the world-renowned NYC skyline, and, above all, reinstate a sense of perseverance for the future.
New York, New York and all the rest of the United States of America and especially the “Towers” are real examples of abundant freedom, justice based democracy, and able intellect driven capitalism that is this constitutional republic…. Build the “Towers” and use better engineering than was used before…. Build the “Towers” and “the world will come.”
REBUILD the twin towers exactly where they stood. Make the outside 100% identical to the originals. And use state-of-the-art architecture in engineering to prevent any chance of another disaster, if someone even ‘accidentally’ hits either tower with a plane.

i am extremely disapointed that there are no “twin towers” being looked at. how can you not rebuild them? they are a historic symbol of america, our pride and accomplishment, and you will let that get thrown away? i can understand a little redesigning but not just forgetting that they were there. that is exactly what “american haters” want, for us to just bow down and say, “ok, we’ll change because you have slapped us”. where is our american pride, our resiliance when hit to say “you didnt win because they still stand, and we are stronger now”. the towers were a symbol of new york that made all americans want to come and see the great city on the bay, even if they were not from there. they made new york a pillar of greatness above all other cities. a single building is nothing more than ordinary no matter what the design, dallas has buildings, but i dont care to drive and see them. people from all walks of life dream of seeing the twin towers up close, and hold that image of them as “the gates of freedom beyond the statue of liberty” to so many, they represent the greatness this country stands for, and it is unfair to rob our future generations of this awesome feeling they bring all because we dont stand tall and rebuild them stronger than before. i ask…i beg, preserve our pride, preserve our accomplishments……preserve our twin towers. rebuild, dont replace. thank you and god bless america!
I was born and raised in New York. I worked for 22 years at the American Stock Exchange. After being laid off from the exchange when Nasdaq took it over I moved to Florida with my family. The tragic news of 9/11 broke our hearts. The only way to defy the bastards that destroyed the WTC would be to rebuild it exactly as it was. It would be a double F-you to them.
Do what is right! Do the same people of America that stood together on the day of 9-11 deserve any less?! Let our soldiers have something beautiful and meaningful to come home to.

My previous employer had a branch office in one of the towers, and were lucky enough to have all gotten out. Unfortunately, one of our agents, Marsh & McClennan wasn’t as lucky. We must show our unwavering solidarity… and if the developers who stand to make millions erecting the archetectual “slaps-in-the-face” Freedom Tower donot submit to the public will, then they need to be removed by the government. They work for us. Not for their pocketbooks. Thank you!

I worked in WTC 2 for a half-dozen years, witnessed the terror of the destruction. I would prefer to have the entire center restored to its originsl splendor. However, we must build it with adequate structural improvements, reverting to a more orthodox design such as used in the Empire State Bldg.,an extremely solid masonry structure, but NOW with an anti-aircraft/anti-missile defense installation on or near the site!!!
