I was raised in nj…grew up viewing the majesty of new york city from the top of the towers most weekends or the skyline from the cliffs. No longer a majestic site for us to gaze…the void just brings back the sadnesss of that horrific day…
Hello I am an ex New Yorker living in Jacksonville florida I watched the twin towers rise into the sky from my bedroom window in Brooklyn I left NY 2 days before the attack I think it would kill the terrorists to watch the towers rise again letsdo it
The World Trade Center stood for this country. To build that Freedom Tower would be wrong. The only thing that THAT thing would stand for is for Governor Pataki and nothing else. Put the Twins back and tell those terrorists who we are!!! WE”RE US
Cowards would not replace destroyed property with identical buildings. No real American is a coward. See, they who more than self their country loved, ran INTO the burning buildings. Will New Yorkers now run away from the towers?
Why re-invent the wheel? No other buildings in this world would have withstood the impacts of the planes, let alone stand for 45 minutes while the burned. The design saved way more lives than they took. And we can improve upon the original designs.
The twin towers were built to be as economical, leaseable and awe-inspiring as possible. They succeeded. The notion of replacing them with anything less is an absolute insult to all of us and to the towers themselves. Let’s rebuild them!
Until we Americans stop the current undemocratic rebuilding process sponsored by governor Pataki, and listen to the voice of the people by rebuilding the Twin Towers, we will never triumph over those killers who long to destroy our democratic ways.
Born in N.Y. and raised on L.I.Living in Fl since ’79. My Dad helped build the twin towers. Been to the top of the Trade Ctr. many times. Others should have the opportunity to see the breathtaking view. N.Y is not the same without them.

They rebuilt Europe and Japan after WW2..why can’t we rebuild the Twin Towers taller and stronger?Why not two 150 storey memorials to all who perished?

Connecticut should be listed with NY and NJ. The towers could be seen from our beaches.

Raising the Twin Towers would be like saying to those terrorists “We Will Not Be Defeated and We will Not Live in Fear”.
